  • Sharpens your knives quickly, easily and accurately

  • Renew your edges in an instant
  • Safety hand grip prevents cuts
  • Diamond-honed tungsten carbide
Versatile and easy enough for anyone to use safely, the AccuSharp 001 Knife Sharpener lets you quickly sharpen a wide variety of bladed tools, from straight and serrated knives to cleavers and axes. Its unique, ergonomic design guards your fingers while a dependable, diamond-honed tungsten carbide blade puts a precision edge on your tools.
Versatile, User-Friendly Design
A sharp blade makes it easier to get work done quickly and safely. The innovative AccuSharp Knife Sharpener lets you sharpen most blades in around ten seconds. Sharpening is oil- and mess-free, and it doesn't require guessing at angles or handling rough, awkward stones. This sharpener's easy-to-use design makes it a great tool to have on hand in professional and personal kitchens, as well as an easy choice for hunters, fishermen and women, gardeners, and craftspeople.
Featuring a unique, ergonomic handle, the AccuSharp fits neatly in either hand to accommodate both right- and left-handed users, and it includes a full-length guard that protects your fingers throughout the sharpening process.
Fast, Effective Sharpening
To get started sharpening, you simply place your knife on a table or counter top with the cutting edge up. Hold the knife handle securely with one hand. Then let the "V" notch on the sharpener straddle the blade, and use your thumb to apply light pressure as you draw the AccuSharp down past the point of the blade.
When you first use the AccuSharp on a blade, several passes may be required to make sure that your knife's cutting angle conforms to the AccuSharp angle. But once that angle is achieved the first time, it should take just two or three brief passes to put a sharp edge back on your knife--which means that sharpening fits into your busy schedule instead of interfering with it.
Dependable, Long-Lasting Construction
To deliver years of reliable use, AccuSharp sharpening blades are crafted from diamond-honed tungsten carbide, one of the hardest known materials. And because even the toughest industrial-quality blades eventually begin to show wear, AccuSharp's unique design allows you to reverse the blade to double its life span. Most users report an average of five to 10 years between blade replacements, which means that it's easy to ensure that your sharpener will be ready to go when you need it.
AccuSharp Knife Sharpeners will not rust, and they can be cleaned easily with soap and water or in your dishwasher.

This is a tremendous invention! I was a pro chef for about 15 years.

The customary way to sharpen knifes was a steel and or flat stone.

I have bought and used various "sharpening systems" and had ex-

pensive electric diamond sharpeners. However, this device is the

fastest, cheapest, and best one I have ever used. It puts a very

sharp edge on all knives (almost razor sharp), and sharper than any

$300 electric sharpener out there. And for the average 8" chefs knife,

takes about 20 seconds! Get one of these and you will be amazed

how something so simple works so well.

Do not, repeat, DO NOT buy some $100+ electric knife sharpener that may or may not be any good. I got a tip on this from Cook's magazine, which reviewed several products and rated this the top manual sharpener. (By the way, Cook's definitely did not recommend the dumb Rachael Ray-sponsored sharpener with the curvy blades and high price tag.) For about $10, this product honed my fancy German knives, and also the old knives I've had for 20 years (chicago cutlery/faberware kinds of knives) that have been dull for a decade. After 20-30 strokes with the tungsten sharpener, those knives were cutting paper like on a Ginsu infomercial (though I didn't try them on a beer can)! I can't say it loud enough--buy this, and you will not be sorry. In fact, buy it for yourself, and get one for anyone you know who appreciates a sharp edge when chopping vegetables.

I've been using this knife sharpener for years. In fact, after about 8 years, I wore out the sharpening blades and had to buy another one. A nice feature is that you can take out one screw and reverse the blades to get more life out of them. Supposedly the blades are replaceable, but for roughly $10 spread over 8 years of daily use, I figured I could afford a new one!

If you read reviews under knives at Amazon, you'll soon figure out that many people sharpen their knives with steels and diamond hones. I'm no good with those things, but I do lots of cooking and I like my knives sharp.

The Accusharp was the answer for me. You don't have to be good at sharpening knives. Just rest your knife on the counter sharp-side-of-blade up and run the Accusharp down it firmly 3 or 4 times. Be careful if you do the light finger test for sharpness because the Accusharp will leave the blade lethally sharp! (If your knives are really dull, you will have to do it more like 10x the first time to bring them back.)

I have used my Accusharp successfully on chef's knives, paring knives, pocket knives, etc. Be advised, it is not for use on serrated blades (of course)!

The thing I like best about my Accusharp is that it takes no more than a few seconds, so I tend to sharpen my chef's knives and paring knives every time I use them. Just a couple of swipes and I have a fresh, labor-saving blade that makes my cutting chores easier.

I like these so much that I give them to people for gifts and use them for stocking stuffers at Christmas. The recipients often tell me later, "I love that thing you gave me to sharpen knives!"

This product will put a quick edge on any knife, large or small. Simply draw the angled (paired) sharpening stones over your blade, and presto - you have an edge, and a pretty good one too. Best of all, the sharpener is very portable, weighs less than nothing, and fits into backpacks, fishing tackle boxes, hunting fanny pack, etc. with no added weight or bulk.

The edge that this sharpener puts on a blade is a great starting point for further honing of the blade to razor sharpness if desired.

I have several of these sharpeners. The only drawback is that the sharpening stones wear out after perhaps 6 - 10 sharpenings. But under 10 bucks, this is a bargain.

Looking for a sharpener to take with you anywhere? This is it. The best procedure I have foung for using it is to take a black sharpie marker and mark the edge. This is makes it very easy to see if you have worked the whole edge. Set the knife on the edgeof a table blade up. If it is the first time a fair amount of pressure will be needed and you will see steel being removed. Scrape the edge until all the black marker is gone. If there is a small wire edge it can be removed using lighter strokes and tipping the sharpener a very little to one side then the other. After this it will be hair shaving sharp.

I am a Chef, and have always scoffed at these types of sharpeners, but this one really works. Follow the instructions, use a soft touch, and keep the knives and sharpener clean, and you will be very happy the the results.

Seen recommended in Cook's Magazine. It actually does what it claims to do. The position of the handle is awkward to get used to at first, but it makes sense. Follow instructions and don't use force and it will sharpen kitchen knives that are unsafe when dull. Terrific buy!

The reviews you find at other websites by professional chefs sold me--all raves. They were right. Don't spend more, this is really easy to use and my knives are razor sharp. A 10 second touch up every couple of days will keep a knife in great shape.

I decided to buy this Accusharp hand held sharpener after ruining too many knives on my old grinding wheel. There are quite a few hand held, compact knife sharperners on Amazon to choose from. However now that I have had this Accusharp for a while, I feel I have made an excellent choice.

The Accusharp is just about as simple as they come by design, and to use. The tough carbide sharpening stone does an excellent job with minimal pressure in sharpening any blade with just 3 or 4 light strokes. As soon as I got it I used it not only on all my kitchen knives, but on my various hunting knives as well. I also own a collection of bowie knives ranging from 9 to 16 inches in length. It did an excellent job on all the blades, regardless of the length, style, and width. (The heavier blades requiring just a little more pressure). The package directions direct one to place the knifes sharp side up on a counter and to drag the sharpener over the blade. Though I fully realize that their intention was to maximize safety on behalf of the consumer, I found it a little easier to use by holding the knife in one hand sharp side up, and then drawing the sharpener over the blade in that manner. But thats just me, you may not feel the same way. This position however does not apply to any really heavy, long bladed knives. It is best in the case of a very large knife, (and of course safer), to follow the package directions and lay it on a counter as directed. Although if you use the sharpener correctly it is very hard to actually scrape your knuckles against the blade, a nylon guard between you and the knife prevents that in any event. The very shape of the sharpener puts your knuckles pointing away from the blade. The Accusharp is comfortable, convenient, very easy to use, and most importantly, gets every knife blade I used it on extremely sharp. I am most satisfied with it.

In conclusion, though some other reviewers here spoke negatively of this unit not providing as fine an edge as old fashioned honing with oil and stone would, personally I do not feel that is the point, or the promise of this sharpener. Any blade can be made into a finer shaving worthy edge with a whetstone system. That is if we all had an ample amount of time to spare and nothing else better to do. And I also have not experienced any of my knives staying any less sharp and needing more sharpening with the Accusharp as some other reviewers have made a note of. Personally I feel an edge is an edge and the length of time it stays that way has a lot more to do with the knives quality, rather than the tool or system used to get it that way. One last observation, the Accusharp sharpening stone is reversible. Meaning that after hundreds of uses when the original side starts to wear down and taking more time to do its thing, you can open the handle and reverse the stone, thus essentially starting off with a brand new sharpener all over again. I think this sharpener is excellent and does a very fine job. Its reasonably priced, and, (at the time of this writing), can be combined with something else for free shipping here on Amazon. I think its all the sharpener most of us will ever need and highly recommend it...

I'm surprised that this hasn't made more news. I just sharpened a dull 15" survival knife with it in a matter of seconds. It's straightforward, too. Just place groove of sharpener on the knife and hold the knife still. Run the sharpener down the blade with gentle pressure and you'll have a sharp knife in no time.
