About ten years ago a friend walked in and said, "Hey, I got something for you Chef."
I have cooked professionally, and at home for many years, and I was blown away by the Accusharpe.
I thought "this is some kind of cheap little gimmick," but, Nay, far from it, this is by far the best knife sharpener I've ever used, and since getting this one I've given all the others to Goodwill.
America's Test Kitchen showed results of 10 high-end sharpeners, including multi-slotted electric sharpeners, then brought out the Accusharp, saying,"Unless you are just bound and determined to spend $200.00 on a sharpener, then there is no need to spend more, and went onto demonstrate the Accusharpe. They did recommend that we keep our Steel, saying that a knife edge develops an invisible "curl" which should be first removed with a steel, then run through the Accusharp for a fine, polished edge.
If this company wanted to be snobbish, they could put bone, or pearl handles on this baby, call it the Ferrari of knife sharpeners, and charge $50.00 for it.
Do yourself a favor, get one before they think of something like that.

I purchased the replacement blades with my first of three purchases of the Accu Sharp Knife Sharpener. I have since learned that the blades on the knife sharpener can be removed and turned around with no need for replacement blades and at the low cost of the knife sharpener I will just replace the entire unit.

Very cost effective. Keeps our precious knives working their best. Fairly easy to install; just be sure little ones aren't around at the time. We are very happy with our AccuSharp Knife Sharpener and the replacement blades. We've tried several different types of knife sharpeners and this is definitely our favorite. We love to cook and having sharp knives is very important to the cooking process, so we take this seriously. Highly recommend!

I purchased this item after seeing it reviewed on Americas test kitchen. It works very well.

Another one of those purchases where I must have been in a cheap-wine-induced coma. If I remember why I got these things I'll edit this review which has not only been a waste of my time, but that of the Amazon reviewer, you the reader, and the entire English speaking world.

This is a really easy to use tool for me. I am a machinist so I understand the shapening method of how this works. The blades last a long time. You dont have to do a lot either. Just a few strokes feeling the blade as you go will help. I actually use this on my lawn mower blade after I bring it down to an edge this just finishes it up.

I've seen reviews from snobby cooks/chefs denigrating the ACCU system. I have found nothing else that will resurrect a marginal knife so quickly. I'm not saying I would use these routinely on high-end knifes, but whenever a friend asks me to help with a knife, this (and of course the whole system) will do the job. I use sparingly to reshape when necessary on daily prep knives.

Haven't change this replacements , yet....but I have the Accu Sharp knife sharpener and I always like to have the replacements of everything I buy in order to have them in hand when I need it, specially if I'm in a hurry........

Not much to say, other than these replacement blades are the same blades that come with the great sharpener.
Not sure if they mention this in the instructions, but you can turn the blades around when they get dull for twice the lifespan!

Have had the AccuSharp knife for several years. Kept turning the blades around and "sharpening" as best I could. Found these on Amazon (2 pair) and they are perfect. Knifes are sharp again.
