AmazonBasics Ni-MH Battery Charger with USB Port
Keep your must-have, battery-powered devices up and running with help from this AmazonBasics Ni-MH Battery Charger. The unit plugs into an AC wall outlet, and provides versatile charging space for both AA and AAA batteries as well as USB devices. With just one AC outlet, you have an instant charging station, and in less than four hours, your batteries will be fully charged and ready to go.
Charges AA and AAA batteries
The battery charger recharges in pairs, accommodating two or four AA or AAA rechargeable Ni-MH batteries at a time. Once properly inserted, the unit begins to recharge automatically, and its full-charge, cut-off function protects batteries from being overcharged. Even more, it provides protection against wrong polarity charging or reverse battery installation. A red LED light provides at-a-glance info: on means it's charging, flashing means alkaline or bad cell detection, and off means charging is complete.
USB Port for Smartphone Charging
The versatile battery charger comes equipped with a USB port (maximum output 500 mA) for charging a smartphone, PDA, iPod, or other handheld device. A green LED light indicates the USB port is available for use or currently charging. The USB charging port takes priority over AA/AAA battery charging, so after the USB device is fully charged, the charger automatically resumes battery charging.

VERY cool little charger. Just note that the USB charger has first priority, batteries will not charge until the USB charger completes a charge on whatever is plugged into it, it will not charge USB and batteries at the same time.

Very slick looking, solid and well built. It has the usual indicator lights telling you if the batteries are charged or not, as well as a USB jack which is a really nice touch.
The only thing I noticed is that if I run my Amazon batteries all the way down to zero (like you drain them completely), the charger thinks they're bad and won't charge them. If that happens plug/unplug the charger several times with the batteries in it and eventually it will start charging them. (At first I thought I had bad batteries).

The AmazonBasics line of products keeps growing and this is yet another very good addition. It combines their already popular USB Outlet charger with a 4 bay AA & AAA Charger. The USB Charger alone is $7.99, so at $17.69 (at time of review) this is a pretty good deal. Most other 4 bay chargers are running about $15. I have several chargers that I have been using over the years and I really like the USB port on this one, as it simplifies what I need to carry around with me.
This is a 2 battery at-a-time charger. If you want to go to individual battery charging search for "individual cell charger". If you own devices that use an odd number of batteries then that is the way to go. Panasonic has one that costs around $20 and works very well, but does not include USB.
The 4 hour charge is about right. No need to wait all night for a good charge. If you do leave it in longer is simple switches to maintenance mode. It protects against over and under charging and inserting the batteries in backwards.
It is nice and slim too. The prongs fold in and the entire charger is pretty compact. Great for storing in a backpack pocket or camera bag.
The charger seems to be manufactured by Intertek which is the same manufacturer for my Sanyo Eneloop Charger which has been working fine for over 5 years now.
If you find yourself charging AA and/or AAA batteries a lot while traveling then this will probably be a great find for you. I believe it fills a new niche and will help simplify an increasingly battery-centric device society we live. I have enough little accessories to carry around and simplifying and combining is a great idea in my book.

I am so glad I ordered this, it works very well and it has an awesome price point too. Most are twice the price for the same thing, I am glad I found this instead. Previously I was spending way to much on AAA batteries in particular for my mini flashlights that I use almost nightly.
I have 6 dogs to walk for their final potty before bed so that is 3 trips outside in the dark for me. I also live on a property that is quite dark and most nights I have to go between structures on the property. I really use my flashlights heavily other words.
Now that I have this, I am saving $30 bucks monthly on batteries which really adds up yearly and I feel good about having recharging batteries instead. I really hated all the batteries I was throwing away before. I highly recommend. Thanks Amazon!

Quick and easy battery charging is now available !! I've tried several of AA/AAA NiMH battery chargers, and this BASICS brand charges batteries MUCH faster than the RAY-O-VAC Model #PS1 that's old and really slow.
Compact design, easy loading, rapid charging, and charge indicator lights make for a great product -- and it's a bargain price, too !

This Amazon basic charger is a good product. I like it simple but well designed look. Like the smart charge feature and a USB port. It can charge both AAA and AA batteries at reasonably fast rate. The only drawback is you HAVE TO charge 2 AAs and/or 2 AAs at the same time. Since, pretty much all my devices use 2 of them, I don't think it's gonna affect me much. Beside, have you seen any AA or AAA pack sold with an odd number? With the price tag, it does outshine its drawback. Maybe that's why it's out of stock, eh?

This is a great, cheap, efficient charger. I've hard some chargers in the past that did work just as well, but the big thing here is that it'll let you know when something if fully charged and it even diverts the current when it's done. It has a USB plug on the side if you really need to charge your phone or device. It's a great compact charger for the price.

I've been using eneloop chargers for the past 5 years for my Pentax DSLR. Now that I've lost it, I decided to replace one. After purchasing this, I didn't think much of it. Seems like any other charger. That is.. until I just noticed the USB port on the side. That is awesome. It's like I just bought a wall charger and didn't even know it.

I've been very pleased with this charger. I purchased this along with AmazonBasics. AA batteries and both are serving me well. I get quite a reasonable charge time from dead batteries and it has a nice looking design with clear indicator lights. Exactly what I wanted...

This charger does a great job of charging batteries very well. It is made with really great quality and it's very tough, too. It has been dropped a couple of times, and everything stayed in place. Perfect for a quick and full charge. I like that this is not a bulky, heavy charger, either. It's a very light, yet sturdy charging system. I've never bought Amazon brand batteries, or Amazon brand chargers, either, for that matter, but I am very happy with my experience with this one. Whenever (or if ever) I need to get a replacement charger, I'll be sure I buy an AmazonBasics one.
