I have a nice LST 136 cordless trimmer and the spool cap became unreliable -- it would periodically just fall off, sometimes when the trimmer was idle, and once when the trimmer was running. I was hoping that this part would fit my trimmer even though my model number was not listed. This part DOES fit the LST 136 perfectly, so I wanted to post a review in case anyone else was wondering the same thing.

The picture of the replacement spool cap looked a little different than the original spool cap, so I was a bit skeptical that it would fit. Once received, however, it fit perfectly. It even looked to be made of a heavier plastic that the original one. Thanks!

I bought this to replace the worn out spool cap on my B&D GrassHog 600. This cap is much more study than original and the 2 fingers that cause it to lock into the trimmer's spinning hub grip more securely than the original cap did when new.

After my original spool cap broke, I was about to toss the whole weed whacker. I'm glad I checked Amazon because now with this new cover, The trimmer works even better than before. As it was, I obtained the trimmer used and always bought the pre spooled line since the I never seemed to get the line to feed when I wound it myself. Now it feeds automatically regardless, if I buy the expensive line or not. I suggest buying the cap before your trimmer needs it. Its certainly saves all the stress.

I thought my Black and Decker string trimmer was broken for good when I broke the cap off it. Then on a whim I searched Amazon for Black and Decker parts and this came up. Well it fits perfectly and is even seeming to be better than the original cap. I am so glad they made this part available as it seems to be the most vulnerable part of the string trimmer. 5 Stars!

I had to look up the part number on the Black and Decker website; not enough information to do it only in Amazon.
Once I found the right part number and copy/pasted it into the Amazon search window, I found this.
The old part disintegrated due to age/wear. The replacement works fine

I've had my B&D rechargeable for almost 5 years and use it constantly. This year this part wore completely away, from being used as a heavy duty whacker. I didn't really hold out much hope that B&D made parts for such a economically priced item, but this piece was exactly what the whacker needed. I was so pleased to be able to actually FIX something instead of throwing it away and buying a whole new unit. This part was cheap and exactly fit the bill.

I thought for sure the trimmer would have to be replaced when the reel went spinning away while edging the lawn. Turns out it was just this piece needed replacing, saving a bundle. Snaps right on and works perfectly.

I have an old B&D G400 Type 3 that finally gave up the ship on the cap, but
Ace had it in stock at less than $.20 cents more than Amazon, so I bought the
Ace cap and ordered a back up from Amazon.
The caps ARE THICKER than the original, and they are still orange; not black!
While you can replace the spool and cap on these, you cannot replace the housing,
as it is part of the motor assembly, so you might as well buy a new one.
If you do buy a new one, I would look at the GreenWorks 21212 which is a 13" trimmer
that according to the reviews has actually figured out a way for the auto feed to ACTUALLY WORK.
I have ordered one of these and will be reviewing it as soon as I get it in.
I like these light weight trimmers over the heavy gas trimmers (I have a HomeLite 2 stroke that I had to fix to run right, and a Honda 4 stroke with brush blades for the heavy stuff), but most of
the trimming I do, can be done with these light weight electric trimmers, and if they stop working,
you spend $40.00 (Not $80.00 to $200.00) for a new one.
