Yes this might not be the cheapest oil, but at least you can rest assured that it is the exact correct oil for your B&S. This 48 oz. bottle is the correct amount of oil for OHV engines typically found in riding mowers. There is also an 18 oz. bottle used for the smaller L-head engines found in push mowers. My local home and garden store only carried the 18 oz. size, so rather than having to buy 3 smaller bottles and having an odd amount left I bought the 48 oz. size.
When changing the oil, my particular engine took a little less than the full bottle, so I have a little extra to use for topping-off the oil during the season. I can't say too much about the oil other than it works fine! My 17 year-old engine isn't complaining and still runs great!
FYI, if you care not to buy B&S oil just about any detergent SAE 30 oil will do. Avoid multi-grade oils like 10W-30 in these engines.

We run a small mom and pop lawnmower shop. My husband says this oil is the best. He should know since he's been a small engine repair man for 40 years. It is getting more difficult to buy oil at local auto stores due to their raising prices. This is a bargain.

I bought a used walk-behind mower from a friend, and it had obviously never had the oil changed. The thick, black sludge that came out was almost like tar. I chose to use this 30W oil rather than a dual-weight automotive oil, simply because the mower's manual recommended it. With this new oil, and a little other refurbishing work, that mower purrs like a kitten. I'm pleased with its performance.
My process for replacing the old, nasty was this: I ran the mower with its old oil for a few minutes, to get it hot enough to thoroughly drain out, then drained the old oil completely. The old oil was quite dirty. I even let it sit draining overnight to get those last few drips out. Then I poured in this new oil, and mowed the lawn once, to get it nice and hot, then drained the oil once more. It was still kind of dirty. I filled it once more, and ran it for the season. Upon draining it this past Fall, the oil was looking quite good. Still a translucent amber color. Now I will just drain and fill each year.

I just did a tune up on my 21 inch MTD Briggs and Stratton powered push mower. A few years late but now I know this should be done yearly. I also changed the filter with Briggs and Stratton air filter. All available for competitive price here on Amazon. Thanks again Amazon!!! The oil change will help keep my mower running better and add life to a 6 year old lawnmower.

Bought this oil specifically for lawn mower. Could have purchased regular
30W but I like the OEM stuff. Price and delivery were satisfactory. Would
definitely order again.

I like to buy the best oil I can and what is recommended for the engine I have. This is the best oil for my zero turn 52 in deck Ferris mower with the Briggs and Stratton engine model 490000 (49T877). We have 8 acres to mow, so we need to change our oil and filters frequently this is the best filter for your Briggs and Stratton engine. We will buy more.

Bought a brand new lawnmower, and didn't want hubs to blow this one up too because he forgot to put oil in it. Basically, this is my wife way of telling him he needs to take care of what we purchase to keep our home beautiful :D !!! I found that this oil is perfect as the engine is a B&S engine, so for our new mower it is perfect. The product is just as described.

Briggs continues to live up to their reputation of American Made quality and consistency amongst their line of products. Sure it is not necessary to use their oil just because I own a Briggs engine but when the price is right on a quality item I buy it! I use this oil in my leaf blower and in my lawn mower. I would use a different oil in my generator and snow blower because those machines run in cold weather. Enjoy!

I purchased this product in order to perform oil changes on small engines. I do a lot of small engine repair and am always changing the oil on them. This container was enough to do a couple oil changes and stores well. From what I can tell it is quality oil from a known and trusted brand. I would highly recommend this product to anyone utilizing a small engine that requires SAE 30.

I got this for my 20-year old pushmower. It has had nothing but cheap motor oil in it for it's entire life and I haven't changed the oil very frequently. Will this oil make my lawnmower last 40 years? I don't know--I only bought it to raise my total purchase above the threshold for free shipping.
