While I have about 15 headlamps this one is very unique in itself. The way that it clamps to the head strap is cool because you can take it off and clamp it elsewhere..like your bike. We are avid bike riders and while we dont practice this much at dark this would be cool to have if we needed it. I will be packing this one in our camper to mount to my bike for those night time trips to the marina or the showers..The over the head strap makes it comfortable for me and even my son. It supports the weight of the battery pack and the headlamp nicely. No issues wearing it for long periods of time. The battery is tucked away in a small bag which is different than any others that I have but it works. You can charge it easily using the provided micro usb to usb cable from any power supply..the light has lasted well over 4 hours now on one charge. It has standard 18650 batteries which can be replaced fairly cheaply on amazon if you needed to. They are pretty standard when it comes to headlamps and most led flashlights these days. Modes including high, low, strobe and SOS for emergencies is always a nice added feature in headlamps and flashlights. There is a small glowing light on the back of the headlamp itself which stays on while you have it plugged in to the battery..I didnt really see a way to get this to go off unless I unplugged it from the battery. It very bright ..I dont have a way to test lumens but this thing is bright enough to see across my acre yard into the neighbor's yard with no issues. It comes with a drawstring bag that holds everything in one spot..that's always a plus. Everything is right where I need when I need it. All in all for the price and quality construction of this headlamp and the multiple uses you can get from it I am giving this a very high 5 star review.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask in the comments. I will respond. Let's keep making better buying decisions together. Thank you and as always Be Safe & Happy Shopping!!

This flashlight is really powerful. In my opinion it is true to the 1200 lumens rating. It has four settings which are high, medium, low brightness and strobe and you can not adjust the beam like other cree flashlights. I was a little worried about this flashlight not having this feature but the focus is perfect the way it is. It lights up everything at close range and at a very long distance. The three ways you can use the flashlight are as a headlamp, holding it like a normal flashlight, and you can put it on bike handles. The easiest was is the headlamp in my opinion. The battery is attached to the back of the headband and the wire has a cradle to make sure its held in place and out of the way. When using it on a bike, the battery hangs off and has nothing to support it the way the light itself is supported without taping it or making something yourself. Holding it the way the pictures show on the amazon listing is not bad but your holding the battery and the light together with one hand which can be a little inconvenient especially if you are looking to use both hands at some point and your not looking to use the headband. I go backpacking all the time and this light is now my go to. Its a little heavier than I usually consider but its completely worth it. As far as camping goes, around the house and emergencies, this light is awesome as well. I have had it for a month now and I have not charged it yet with use almost every night. I also really like how BYB incorporated an indicator light on the usb cord to let you know when the battery is fully charged.
With all that said this flashlight is awesome. The most powerful one I have owned especially in this size and I highly recommend buying it.

I have received this product at a discounted price in return for a 100% honest review. These are my opinions and I pride myself on my honest and accurate reviews and no incentives were offered nor accepted for a positive rating.

 Yello :) how are youuuuuuuuuuu? This is the byb light and for once the claim that is made for the lumens is actually true. There are absolutely 1200 lumens in this piece of hardware. I took a video so you can see how heavy this piece of artillery is coming at you. We are looking at major luminosity? lol.. Not sure if that is a word but who cares... Anyways, this thing is listed at $ 25 clams and I bought one from the store that was $ 20 with only 200 lumens.... It's cool that you can charge it so many ways and the batteries are included - they usually cost a lot themselves. That is it. Have fun go play and enjoy the light :) and the NCAA tourney games too! :) bde bde bde that's all folks!

fyi---- I did receive this product at a discount for an honest and unbiased opinion.

Pros:
- Extremely bright
- Multi-functional/multi-configurable
- Removable batteries
- Comfortable
- Bang for the buck

Cons:
- Gets hot on high at extended run times

Bottom Line: I have a new favorite light

Let me start off by saying this light has exceeded my expectations for a source of bright illumination. I've tested my fair share of lights and with great eagerness, pulled them from their packaging and turned them on - only to think, 'ho hum.'

However, when I pulled this headlamp from it's packaging, I wasn't prepared for what was about to happen. Light! And lots of it! After being rendered speechless from the intensity of this headlamp, I realized that my mouth was open because I was both shocked and excited that it was so bright.

Maybe it's because the other four headlamps that I currently own are just poor at illuminating? That sure isn't the case here. After playing around with the headlamp for a few more minutes, I swiftly made a bee line to where I kept my Surefire® 6P with LED conversion. To me, it is the standard that all flashlights I review must be measured against. As soon as I pressed the tailcap on the Surefire®, I immediately knew that the "King" had been usurped. Again, jaw open.This headlamp was at least 1.5 times as bright as my 6P.

When I finally was able to close my mouth, I realized that this headlamp had some weight to it that I wasn't used to. I thought to myself, "What good is a bright headlamp if it isn't comfortable?" Expecting my excitement to be displaced with reality, I adjusted the straps and placed it on my head. After wearing it on my head for just over an hour, the straps still felt very comfortable but the densely foamed plastic headlamp mount against my forehead started to make itself known. Fortunately, the foam is denser than usual and the mount is large which spreads the pressure over a wider area so it's more manageable than the other headlamps that I own. Excitement still there.

The batteries, (2) 18650 batteries, have no listed mAh ratings (yes, I squeezed them out of the vinyl sack and cut open the sleeve that encased the 2 batteries). They do appear to be connected in parallel, so if figuring the average rating for a mass produced generic 18650 is 2000 to 2500 mAh, I think it's safe to say the 4625 mAh rating is about right. (3.7V divided by 8W) This would lead to very long run time on the low setting (**AND**) it could possibly give a very small charge to a small electronic device as long as the battery was smaller than 3.7 volts. Why do I say this?

The headlamp has a coiled wire (like a landline phone cord) protruding out from it with a male USB connector on the end. This means that you can technically connect this light to an AC outlet USB plug (think Apple/Android USB plug), a computer, an external USB battery pack or any number of power sources with a USB output. So if the headlamp has the male USB input, the battery must have the female USB output? Yes it does! Even though BYB doesn't advertise it to be used in such a manner, it definitely is possible of powering (or slightly charging) anything that needs to be connected to USB (*including a small mobile phone.) Together, the two plugs connect to each other so the headlamp can receive power from the battery.

The light housing is aluminum and feels very robust with a fair amount of weightiness to it. As far as the light itself, it has 4 modes: Maximum brightness, medium brightness and low brightness. There is also a strobe feature that is activated by holding the switch down until it strobes. I can't think of any better use of the strobe feature than while riding a bicycle as it is very noticeable to vehicles on the roadway.

The switch itself illuminates green indicating that the headlamp is connected to the battery. The USB cable it comes with is really neat in and of itself. Both ends illuminate blue when connected to the battery pack. If the battery needs charging, once connected to a power source, the end connected to the power source illuminates red. When the batteries are charged, the illuminated USB end turns from red to blue. Neat feature and very user friendly.

There is also a convenient vinylish bag included to carry the headlamp. I don't think I'll ever use it for this purpose so the bag has now taken up duty as an external USB battery pack holder.

Finally, the headlamp can be removed from the head strap and affixed to the handlebar of a bicycle. The method to tighten the headlamp is similar to the screw-type hose clamp's tightening method.

Overall, my expectations of every other light have been raised because of how this outperforms my former favorite, the Surefire® 6P. For it's versatility, it amazes me that this headlamp can be offered at this pricepoint. I must note that this light gets pretty hot at 8W when ran for an hour or more. Other than that issue, I can't find anything to nitpick about. This is a fantastic multifunctional light that I'm really glad that I came across.

[* I connected this headlamp's battery pack to my Nexus 6. It activated the charge notification but never rose in percentage of battery. However, the percentage never dropped in the 45 minutes it was connected to the battery pack (which it normally does drop in percentage under the same conditions) - phone was in standby with data on and screen off]

~ This headlamp was provided at discount for evaluation and testing in return for an unbiased review. I have not nor will ever give any review for compensation. Provision of this product has no bearing on the objectiveness of any review that I take the time to provide. My goal is to simply provide the end user with enough information to ascertain within their own objectivity, a reasonableness to consider purchasing any product that I review.

Headlamps can be incredibly useful, freeing both of your hands for whatever task might be needed. The BYB Professional Series CREE T6 LED USB Headlamp takes this concept to the next level by being transformable from a headlamp, to a bicycle light, as well as to a traditional handheld flashlight. As you'd expect from this product category, it's also ruggedized and waterproof.

In the package is the Headlamp, Mount Clip, Headband, USB Charging Cable, Battery Pack containing a 4400mAh lithitum-ion battery, and Storage Bag. The feel of all of the components, from the fit and finish to the noticeable heft, is top notch. I can definitely see this being used in the most rugged of environments without issue.

The lamp brightness is incredible and the light well focused (it's rated to about 300 meters, or over 950 feet, of visibility). There are High Light (for its max 100% output of about 1200 Lumens), Medium Light (50% brightness), and Low Light (25% brightness) settings, as well as a flashing Strobe Light mode accessible from any brightness setting by long pressing the on/off button.

While your unit will probably already come with a charge, the first thing you should still do is charge its battery via the USB cable. Once fully charged, the light will last about 5 to 15 hours of usage, depending upon brightness setting. The one caution you'll have to take is that because the lamp is so powerful, the lens can quickly become hot, so you'll want to handle this with care in the field.

This is hands down my new go to head lamp. The strap is comfortable, everything is ruggedly built, and the light is incredibly powerful. The BYB Professional Series CREE T6 LED USB Headlamp is well worth its modest sale price.

Thanks to BYB for the review unit.

Want a versatile and powerful headlight? Then this is probably it.

This thing is BRIGHT. It has 4 modes - high, medium, low, and strobe. Hold the button down for strobe mode. I also like that the power button is lit up in green when plugged into power, so you can easily see it in the dark.

The unique design allows more versatile use - as a headlamp, bike light, and flashlight. The light portion itself (that contains the LED) is metal and feels very solid. The metal helps dissipate the relatively large amount of heat that it generates because it is so bright (so it can get pretty toasty after a few minutes, and even hot on high mode). It is powered by a standard USB plug that you can plug into the battery pack or a standard USB port. I plugged it into my USB charger and power meter and these are the results:

High: ~1.41 amps @ 5.10 volts
Medium: ~.73 amps @ 5.15 volts
Low: ~.35 amps @ 5.18 volts

The battery pack is pretty substantial too, and you can charge it via USB. The included cable even has LEDs on both ends. Both ends light up blue when plugged into the battery pack. When you plug it into the charger, the end that's plugged into the charger lights up red instead of blue. My power meter indicated a healthy charge rate at 1.69 amps @ 5.07 volts.

If you want something big, versatile, relatively heavy, and powerful then this is great. If you want something smaller, lightweight, and less powerful then look elsewhere.

NOTE: I was sent a free product sample for review. I was not paid or told what to write.

Some use cases:

* Bicycling (great for those who bike to work/school)
* Camping/fishing
* Automotive work

Let me get 3 minor nitpicks out of the way before we get to the many things I like about this headlamp:

* The forehead cushion was sufficient for a friend, but for my big head, it was not. This can be fixed by purchasing a foam/neoprene adhesive.
* The headlamp's on button stays lit (green light) when connected to the battery pack. You would have to disconnect the headlamp if you don't want to slowly drain your batteries while not in use.
* No memory function. Once you turn the headlamp off and then turn it back on, the light is at the highest output (@1200 lumens, which is very bright)

Here are the things that I really like about the headlamp:

* Very bright light with the following modes (100% brightness @ 1200 lumens, 50%, 25% and strobe @ 100%). At 25% brightness (@300 lumens), it's still very bright. Use the low setting to conserve battery power.
* The 18650 batteries appear to be protected. At least from overcharging since the charging indicator turns from red to blue once the batteries are fully charged.
* Headlamp is in an aluminum body to help dissipate heat, which it does very well. I left the light on high for 10 minutes and I can still comfortably hold the headlamp. It gets really hot beyond that, but I can still touch it long enough to adjust the angle of the lamp or to turn it off.
* The adjustable strap
* The charge cable has indicators on both end: blue for not charging and red for charging. The ends are interchangeable so, you can plug either end into the USB charger. The end that is connected to the USB charger will turn red when charging and blue when the batteries are at full capacity.
* The headlamp is USB powered, which means you can plug it into any USB powered ports (e.g., USB battery banks and your laptop).
* The plastic mount can be used to attach the lamp on a bicycle,
* The water resistant pouch

The headlamp wasn’t entirely assembled when it arrived, and it didn’t come with any instructions so I had to figure it out myself. It was easy enough, and I took some pictures showing the steps of how to put it together. The headlamp slides on the mount clip and snaps in place, and then the mount clip is hooked through the front part of the headband and tightened into place. The angle of the lamp can be adjusted before it's tightened.

It's quite bright for its size, and I’ve included a few pictures attempting to capture the three brightness levels. I also included a picture of the wall with the headlamp off. The headlamp feels solidly made, tough and durable, and the headband material seems like it will last a while without ripping or stretching out.

Wearing the headlamp is comfortable enough; it isn’t the most pleasant thing to wear, but it doesn’t cause any pain or discomfort and is lightweight enough to not be a bother. The band is quite soft and stretchy, and fits my head securely without any squeezing, pinching, or scratching.

The battery pack itself doesn’t have an indicator light to let you know when it's done charging, but the usb charge cable it came with does. The headlamp also comes with a carrying bag, and while it’s nothing special quality wise, it does work well enough for toting around the headlamp and protecting it from scratches.

I honestly didn’t think I’d have much use for a headlamp, and that it would be something I’d only use very rarely if at all. But once I put it on, I immediately thought of all the times I’ve had to root around behind some electronic or another, fiddling with wires while trying to either also hold a flashlight or direct someone else where to point a flashlight. With the headlamp, I’ll now have both hands free when I need to do any adjusting on my tv or computer. It will also come in handy when I’m out in my dimly lit garage, trying to look through all the stuff that’s stored in there. Overall, this headlamp is well-made, easy to operate and adjust, and useful to have around the house.

If you are looking for a bright, well-made headlamp, this is it!

The lamp fits well on your head with three straps that are easy too adjust for any head size. The light itself is one of the brightest I have ever seen on a headlamp before. Most of the time headlamps are below the quality that you thought you paid for, and that is what is so nice about these. They are easily worth much more than what you buy them for. The lamp lights up the area around you like it's day. It is very powerful.

A nice feature of this lamp is the USB capabilities for charging. This lamp is even great for use indoors. I found this is a useful way of using the light.

If you are looking for a new headlamp that has quality design and is extremely bright than this is the light for you!

I did buy this product at a discounted rate in exchange for my review, but I did not commit to providing a review of any particular tone or rating. This review is honest and reflects my personal experience with this product.

 First allow me to apologize as I am guessing many would like to see this outside...simply too cold for me to be messing around outdoors with my health issues, not tolerable unless an absolute requirement.

Now I have no way to test the actual brightness but I know the light from this is intense, one of the brightest I think I've seen in this small of a size.

The way this unit attaches is very secure and easy to use, turn and tighten or loosen.

The head strap is comfortable and the elastic feels of good quality, you won't stretch it out the first time you use it.

I like the charging cable, it illuminates when connected and shows the charging.

The aluminum housing makes it look and feel of high quality and rain shouldn't be an issue.

I go over more specific info in the video.
