This tool has been with me through 4000 miles of touring, plus countless commutes and day trips, boasting many successful repairs including rebuilding a front wheel. I've used it to assemble entire bikes from their shipping crates, with the addition of a 15mm wrench for the pedals. It has also been used to dis-and-reassemble furniture, and yet years later all the bits are still in perfect condition save for some light tarnish. The chain tool has worked perfectly for me from 5-8 speed chains. I've never owned 9 or greater so I can't comment on it's compatibility with those. To anyone having trouble with the flapping chain tool: unscrew the tool from it's pin and push a snug rubber o-ring past the threads. I don't know why crank bros hasn't figured this out as it cheaply solves a huge complaint. I've cast the m-19 off several times in favor of lighter, sleeker tools, but I always return to it when I decide a few dozen more grams is going to pay off when I need one of the many other tools it offers that simpler multi's lack. In my experience this is the best multi tool you can buy.

I took to road biking recently, and was on the lookout for a good pair of multi-tools for the rare occasion I needed them.

I was contemplating between this M 19, a Topeak Alien 2, and one or two other multi-tools from companies like Bell, Schwinn ...etc. I finally narrowed down on the Alien 2 and this, and went for this, since I didn't think I'd need many of the tools in the Topeak Alien II. Also, the difference in price between the two is ~ 13$ and for a little more, you can buy a decent (not good, but decent) home tool box - which I do plan to do. It was a toss up between did I need to carry a much bigger multi-tool vs should I just buy another set of tools to have at home, and I think the latter was a better decision. I would have liked the silver, but ended up getting the gold, since it was a couple of dollars cheaper.

The tool comes with the following:
Hex Keys/wrenches (2, 2.5, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8)
Flat Screwdriver (1)
Torx t-25, t-10
Philips Screwdriver (2)
8mm, 10mm wrenches
4 sized spoke wrench (#1, #2, #3, #4)
Chain Tool
Open Wrenches (8mm, 10mm)

Highlights:
------------
* The frame is aluminium, and the tools are all high tensile steel. (Except the chain tool which is stainless steel)
* The tool also comes with a lifetime warranty, which is great.
* The flask inside which you can put the multi-tool, is also well made. (although I feel the lid is going to come loose after opening and closing a few times.)
* Weighs at 175g which is pretty light.

Utility:
-------
I was trying to install a hand pump under the water bottle cage, and had to remove a couple of screws - tried using the Allen keys from this, but didn't have room enough to turn it. Bummer! I had to finally use a Allen Key from a 20$ toolbox. Considering that set of Allen keys could be detached from the toolbox and is equally small and portable, I am not sure about the utility of multi-tools in general. Yet, I must award this product 5 stars, since I am sure that's an issue every multi-tool out there suffers from. Plus, you wouldn't have a chain tool on any generic tool box.

How often will I need to use this ? I don't know. But I am sure happy to have it with me should I ever need it.

This fits perfectly in the tail bag and doesn't take much room if you don't put it in the case it includes. The spoke wrench may not work on bladed spokes (I have Mavic Ksyrium Elite wheels and carry a special 2 part Mavic spoke wrench). I'm more concerned about bulk than weight since I'm not out to race, but I want it all to fit in a small tail bag... When I'm using my road bike I carry a spare tube, this tool and a spoke wrench and still have a room for a cell phone and wallet. When I'm mountain biking this fits nicely in the small pocket of my Camelbak pack with all the other junk I'm carrying (and don't forget the sunscreen!).

I bought this wrench because it has 2 different size philips and flat bladed screwdrivers as well as the usual sizes of the hex drivers. Most of the other tools out there only have a single size philips and bladed driver, and I hate stripping screw heads so I want to be at least close to the right size and having the 2 sizes gives me options.

I don't ever see this as a tool bench tool, it's just too small and I have the right tools on the bench anyway. This is for emergency use, but Crank Bros has a lifetime warranty so if I do end up using it a lot or accidentally breaking it, it's nice to know they will swap it out.

I bought this because my bike seat came loose an hour ride from my home and I basically had to stand while riding my bike all the way home. That will never again happen if I keep this tool with me! You only need to break down one time to realize that this is a must own item.

This multi-tool is the bomb and great for emergency repairs while on the road, especially the chain tool. Comes with a swanky steel case to store and easy to pop in a backpack or fannypack. I'm very pleased and the quality of this multi tool is apparent just by the feel because it has a substantial weight for its size.

With this tool, a spare tube, and tire levels, I have everything I need to handle most repairs on the road, I have most everything I need for most repairs while on the road. I previously had a Ritchey compact tool that was a bit undersized and a Topeak mini tool that included a patch kit but was too small to be of any use when a repair was necessary. This Crank Bothers tool is just the right size and appears to have the necessary strength to make difficult adjustments. I just finished tightening up my crankset with it. With the previous multi tools, I would always have to use an allen from the toolbox to tighten up the crankset as necessary. But this tool did a fine job. It appears to have the same quality found in other Crank Brothers products.

This bike took is not small but fits well in the hand. It is of the highest build quality that I have seen. Unlike the similar Park tools it seems to stay tight and sturdy even after heavy use. It looks great, works perfect, and not too heavy. I highly recommend. You will not go wrong here unless you are looking for something ultra compact. It dies fit in my small Bontrager under saddle bag (along with a spare tube and tire lever. Buy it.

I was suprised how many different tools could be fit in such a small product. It easily fit in my saddle bag and has already come in handy during a ride. No complaints with this tool. I ended up leaving the little plastic case that comes with it at home. The case isn't that easy to open/close so I just tossed it aside. This tool looks pretty solid and tough, so I don't think it will need the case anyway.

I was really trying to find the best combination of feature, size and price for a multitool to use on my mtb bike. This Crank Brothers unit seems to fit that bill perfectly! It may be a tad heavier than I expected but going by the numbers it is in line with most similar tools that have this many functions. The stainless case is really nice, making the tool a smooth addition to my bike bag.

Riding way more than I used to, and having zero tools ultimately meaning very little capability to fix my bike if something happens on the trail... Since i'm on a DIY wave, I had to pickup a multi tool.

Really glad I picked up this multi tool. It's already helped me with my cleats and plan on using it for my headset when the new one comes in and bleeding those brakes. It feels great in the hands and super maneuverable. Pulling each tool out is a little tight but you can loosen it up if you need to, but personally the tighter it is the more sturdy it will be of course.

Ordered the (Silver) model because it was the least expensive and ended up getting what looks to be a dark charcoal? Scratches are definitely going to show up more but at least that shows it's been put to use!

Overall, super stoked about this little sidekick multi tool and recommend to anyone in search of one.

My favorite bike tool on my workbench is this Crank Bros. multi-tool. It's like when you first discovered Leatherman knives, and everybody had to get one. Get this and you'll wish you'd bought it 20 years ago. Many tools in one handheld compact unit. I take it everywhere. Sometimes I just grab this off the workbench to adjust my bike when I have other separate tools that do the same thing.

Those pruning saws always cut well when new but seem to get dull very quickly. With their close set, needle-like teeth they're also difficult to sharpen - and I've sharpened regular saws using saw sets and files. Eac...
