Bought these for a buddy who has helped us out quite a bit recently. He has used them OFTEN on many projects between home and auto. He loves them. I've had Dewalt tools for over a decade and also have nothing but positive comments about them!

absolutely love it. I've been using them around the house like new toys and the quality is solid and gets the job done. I put up shelving, fixed my rain gutters, built a table, etc...I am more than satisfied with the power and performance

This is a great set for the homeowner, contractor or auto mechanic. I have found this drill and impact are great for tackling all kinds of jobs around the house and in my shop. I have already used the drill to hang a shower curtain rod, install a ceiling fan, repairing a door jamb, and hanging a few picture frames. My son and I built a set of corn hole boards too. We pre-drilled and drove wood screw after wood screw without any problems. The impact has plenty of torque. It has helped me spend less time laying under a car during auto repairs.
*** Drill ***
The 20 volt batteries give this drill plenty of power for driving long screws through hardwoods. You can feel the high torque just by pulling the trigger. I like the variable speed setting and variable torque setting. Both work well for setting the drill up just right for the job at hand. The drill also has a handy LED light that turns on when you squeeze the trigger. This helps me see what I am drilling or driving in poor light conditions. The light is aimed right were you are drilling or driving. This drill isn't overly heavy and feels good in my hand. It seems to be very well made.
*** Impact ***
I don't use the impact as much as I use the drill. When I do need this tool I am so glad I have it. I like how I can bust tough nuts and bolts loose without dragging out a heavy pnuematic impact wrench and air hoses. This impact makes working under a car a little easier. This impact is much lighter than a pnuematic impact wrench. I like that I am not tied to an air hose.
*** Charger and Batteries ***
I like that this set comes with two 20 volt lithium batteries. Nothing is worse than a drill with a dead battery. I keep one battery in the drill and one on the charger. I never run out of juice.
*** Bag ***
I tend to keep my drill, impact and charger set out in the shop. I am using the bag for carrying hand tools around as I tackle various jobs. I like the handy side pockets for storing things. The bag is well made.
I really like this combo set. Nothing fancy but it just works. I use it at least once a week. These are great for the homeowner, contractor, auto mechanic and handyman. (male or female) They make a great house warming gift too. I recommend this tool combo. It is a good value.
*** Jim A's Handy Tips ***
Test out the speed and torque settings before using these tools.
I suggest buying a DeWalt drill driver set. They have all the various tips for just about any job. You can find reasonably priced sets on Amazon.
Don't buy super cheap chinese drill bits. They dull easily and can be brittle and break. Stick to a name brand and you will be ok. DeWalt and Craftsman both make nice sets at a fair price.
Save money by learning how to sharpen drill bits using a bench grinder. Google is your friend.

This is the best cordless drill and driver that I have owned. I just use these for around the house jobs, so I have had no trouble with battery life, lack of power...or lack of light. I don't know why a light is needed on these, the drill's is a weird/useless location and the driver's 3 LEDs...why? If you can't see, you're better off using a headlight. The drill gets through anything that I've tried it on. The driver...don't use it on phillips or flat blade screws. While it does indeed do the job, unless your screws are made out of unobtanium, they're going to get stripped out and you'll wear through your bits more quickly. Just use this for hex bolts and maybe allen bolts, this'll put them straight into that stud. Use your regular cordless screwdriver for the flats and phillips. Yes, the impact driver does heat up with any extended use, because of how they work...you know with a clutch and all...clutch=friction. These things don't contain hammers and anvils. Don't get impact driver confused with impact wrench or you will surely be very disappointed, and that' not Dewalt's fault. It's yours for not knowing what you are talking about.

Purchased this drill and driver combo for my automotive shop. The batteries are long lasting which is very convenient. They provide enough power to get the job done. My guys can use this working on cars or I can use this just around the office doing fix it jobs. DEWALT is a great brand and I will stick their products. Very happy with my purchase.

I use this set at work where ill probably use them half of the time. From drilling holes to bolding down nuts onto a concrete bolt. Not one time have I seem them fail. Its been over a year and no sign of breaking down. For the size and power, they are one of the best drills I have owned

This is the fourth brand of cordless drill I have owned. It is by far the best. The battery life is good, the torque is great and the comfort of use is the best so far. It also has a very quick recharge time.

I love this set. Have used it extensively around the house. I will be upgrading the batteries at some point, but they seem to last 20-30 minutes of constant use. The impact driver is amazing! Used it exclusively to drive lag bolts during a roof top solar install. Saved us a lot of work. The drill is as expected, can't run an aggressive 1" drill bit, but neither can my bigger corded drill.

Best Drills I have ever bought!!! Love the driver. The batteries charge fast and the drills r VERY strong. I just wish you could turn the light off when u dont need it because it stays on for like 3 mins after u stop using it.

I bought this combo as a replacement for an aging 18v Dewalt cordless drill. I love the brand and it has never let me down. Fast forward 2 years and this combo has exceeded my expectations. I definitely use the impact driver more than the drill because there are just more screwing/driving projects. However, when you have a large project that requires every fastener to be pre-drilled and then screwed, nothing beats this set. The Lithium Ion batteries weigh far less and save your arms on those big projects. The LED lights on each tool work great and are placed perfectly. In reference to the brushless option, it just isn't necessary for someone who isn't using these daily. I've used a bunch of other brands while doing projects with friends and none feel as good and power through like Dewalt. If I had one complaint it would be the battery life of the two 1.5Ah batteries it comes with. I will definitely be upgrading to two 5Ah batteries soon. Bottom line is that this is the best bang for your buck drill/driver set available.
Last Note: I purchased the Dewalt DCS331B 20v Cordless Jig Saw (tool only) when I got this set and it has been great. The best part is that I've been able to fit the drill, driver, batteries, charger, jig saw and a drill bit set all in the included bag. Awesome!
