It's lighter, brighter and more portable than most flashlights while still featuring the rugged durability to withstand the outdoors. The military grade exterior is water resistant for more practical use in a high range of environments. It saves on time, energy, and luggage weight with simple designing and practicality.

I have to admit that I was a bit concerned that these lanterns were too good to be true. I wanted non-gas lighting for our upcoming camping trip and these came high,y recommended. So I did my research. Even though I'm very particular about reading reviews, I didn't want my expectations to be unrealistic. Surely these collapsible lanterns couldn't produce the amount of light claimed, right? Wrong! These are little powerhouse lanterns! They are super bright and easily illuminated the entirety of a pitch black bedroom. The fact that you get two lanterns for this price feels like a steal. I couldn't be happier with this purchase. They're not bulky or as tall as a standard gas lantern. I've included a photo next to a roll of paper towels for scale.

Absolute must have, very cheap to buy two off. Small in size but excellent in light. Takes only 3 AA batteries a piece and lights up enough to read or work by. Lightweight and I like the design. My picture is one of these in a darkened room at night with a second picture of just a regular candle so you can see the difference. Photo was taken without flash about 10 feet away and you can see how easy it is to see things etc.

We purchased this set in anticipation for Hurrican Joaquin. We live in NJ and after we were embarrassingly unprepared for Sandy, and we wanted to be prepared for a power outage. We have a baby and ample light sources are a must. Fortunately it went out to see and we didn't have any power outages. I did try these out, to make sure I didn't have to buy anything else in case we get another late season storm.
What's great:
-Batteries included!
-compact
-Easy to use
-Extremely bright light - With all the lights out one of these gave very sufficient light. I would definitely be able to change a diaper and other baby related tasks in the event of a power outage.
-LED bulbs - energy efficient
I can't speak to the battery life, but my experience with LED is that they do last a long time. They take AA batteries, which everyone has and if you have kids with toys, you probably stock these in bulk in your home.
I definitely recommend these for anyone that is into camping, wants to be prepared in case of a power outage, or has kids (I imagine these lights would be epic in a play fort!)
Important to note... I bought these, full price - No compensation for my review whatsoever.

Lots of light. No candle hassles with heat or glass or maintenance. Protects the lens when closed. Long life. Great light source.

At this price, after reading reviews I bought two of the 2-packs. Delivery was very prompt. I was surprised to discover that they come with good name-brand batteries, which brings the effective price of the lamps even lower. I can't comment on durability yet, of course, but the lamps appear to be well-made, and they put out a ton of light for their size! You can have less light if you want - by simply not raising the light to its full height. I'm back to pick up two more because I'm going to put one of these in each of my car emergency kits because the lamps have some advantages over the flashlights I already have. You could set this beside you while you change a tire in the dark, for instance, carry it back and forth to the trunk, etc., and have all the light you need.

I was shopping for Emergency gear when I bought a pair of these. During an extended power outage lanterns light up a room better than a flash light. Some reviews recommended more expensive models, but I was looking for something inexpensive that I might only use once a year or less. I also wanted something that ran on AA batteries because I’ve standardized all my other emergency gear on AA’s and I buy 50 packs to keep alongside them.
I had been planning on buying just one of these, but then the two pack went on sale. I decided that I could keep one at home and one in my car. When they arrived, all I had to do was screw off the bottom cover and remove a plastic tab from the included AA batteries.
At night I shut off my lights and checked the brightness in my kitchen and one lantern was bright enough to light the whole room. This would also be handy in the bathroom during a power outage. Flashlights are awkward to use there. Brightness is good. There is no dimming switch on the lantern, but you can push it down part way to let less light out if you wish.
Update: The manufacture claims 10 hours of light before these will dim with 12 hours total. In my own testing with the included batteries 10 hours of good light held true. They begin to get dimmer and dimmer after that. However I left one running for 2 days straight and it's still running the light is so dim though that it's dimmer than a night light. So plan for 10 hours and bring extra batteries if you need longer than that. It would be handy if these had a dimmer switch to save battery life, but all you can do is conceal the light by pushing it down not actually dim it.

Not as i expected it to be,came in a small box and i thought at first this is a mistake. Will have to return this item, but when i opened it and turned it on...i was amazed how bright it was and that it came with its own batteries. Great item for the price and will come in handy for any power outage.will leave one in the car.

Best light I have ever had. Simple to use at night when camping. I can see everything on my path and the 3AA batteries can last for 12 straight hours. The lantern puts out 60 lumen, it is very bright. It is very compact - 3.5 inches by 5 inches while collapsed. I like them very much. The other version by this company can be charged by plugging to a wall and the light brightness can be changed. This one is set, one light option, and batteries only. So depending on your needs, you might want to check out their other lanterns. I like this one very much.

Been having problems with frequent, sometimes multi-day power outages in my city. My mom bought some of these on Amazon for when we went camping and I thought they were great. Bought some for home use and couldn't be happier with them. Extremely bright and you can adjust the brightness to an extent. Perfect for reading and passing the time during these annoying power outages. Glad I bought the two pack!

I must say, I was a bit skeptical of a lantern at this price point. I can now say that I was very pleasantly surprised.
It was still daylight when I got my package and opened it. My first surprise was in noting how lightweight this is! It's no trouble at all to carry it around if necessary, and unless you're a super-serious backpacker, you wouldn't even notice any added weight in your camping supplies.
Next, I took the handles and tugged. I had seen the design, of course, and knew that these collapse for easy storage. The LED portion of the lantern slid right out of the case, creating a more traditional-looking product. It was so easy! But there was no light. I was really pretty disappointed as I panicked and searched for the "switch". It quickly became evident that I had a defective product, because there was no switch. Of course, I hadn't yet bothered to read the directions, which VERY CLEARLY tell you to remove the protective strip inside the battery compartment before it will work. This aspect of my personality makes me a great product tester; if there's a way to do it wrong, I'll figure it out!
Once you've read the single sentence of instructions that allow you to operate the lantern, you're set. The bottom twists off to reveal the battery compartment. It twists off easily, and my lantern came with batteries already included! So as soon as I removed that single protective strip, I was in business! Remember, it was still daytime, so while I could see that it was a bright light, I couldn't do much else.
Then it got dark, and the hubby and kids came home from work and activities. Excited about my new purchase, I handed it to my husband and said "Here, just tug on the handles. It's a lantern!". The light in the room was off, so we could see how well it worked. And it worked really well. In fact, having not mentioned to my husband that it would turn on automatically, I might have been "accused" of trying to blind him. Yes, this is perfectly safe as far as that goes, but it is never advisable to look directly at a light bulb as you turn it on. Like I said, if you can do it wrong, I'll let you know :)
I've posted some pictures so you have some idea about the lighting. The first is my back deck, before sunrise, in a snowstorm. The light from a single lantern was enough to illuminate my deck, including the sad-looking deck furniture, and beyond the deck to my car. You can't tell from the photo, but I could actually see INTO my car, in the dark. Not enough to see real detail, but definitely enough to tell if someone was in it or if I'd left the window down. We're not going to discuss that last part, or why there is snow in my car. I also posted a picture of what it might look like if your kid wanted to practice on the antique pump organ when the power is out. You know, just in case I'm not the only one with that issue. You can see that it is easily bright enough to read music and see the stops. You could use this to go check your breaker box if you've tripped something (no, I haven't, yet). I can see this being a useful item to keep in your vehicle as well, far better than a flashlight if you're trying to see under the hood, or walking along a dark road after a breakdown. It's way more useful than just another lantern to pack away with your camping gear!
I did receive this lantern in exchange for my HONEST review. I am under no obligation to give any item a "good" review. My thoughts, stories, and (sound) opinions are, sometimes unfortunately, all my own! I hope you find the right lantern for your lifestyle, and that this review helped. If so, please help me back by clicking the "yes" button. Thank you!
