I use this knife every day at work, cutting and shaving drywall, opening boxes, cutting rope ect. It holds the blade really securely and its easy enough to change the blade, even though its not a quick release setup. Folded it is barely bigger than the blade it holds but when you use it it feels great in your hand, with good control and grip. The one little problem i have with it is that if the blade you replace the standard Gerber one with is a tiny bit bigger (like the Stanleys I use) the tip will stick out just a hair past the end of the knife when its folded. its not enough to really cut you but sometimes it will catch on something and open in my pocket or clipped onto me. Just use gerber blades or try other ones to see if they fit, and it shouldn't be an issue. other than that I love it, and it is a great alternative to the Superknife because it is much more compact without compromising much utility.

I buy a lot of stuff here on Amazon but I rarely review them. This Gerber EAB Lite is well worth the $$ I paid for it. I purchased it at a brick and mortar store. The pocket knife actually has two versions. The older one has a narrower clip, I read reviews that it broke easily. I bought it anyway. I also called Gerber and they sent me 3 extra clips (awesome customer service). I have two of these. Then I saw that it's actually cheaper here on Amazon and so I bought a 3rd one. The first thing that I noticed was that the clip is wider now and seems more durable. (Instead of clipping it to your pocket, why not thread a piece of small lanyard on the loop created by the clip instead? I find it easier to use it this way).
PROS:
It's inexpensive
Compact
You don't have to worry about dulling a blade since it's interchangeable
CONS:
You're gonna want to bring it anywhere you go
You're gonna buy more than one because it's awesome
You're gonna volunteer to cut open letters, boxes, rope etc because you want to show off this bad boy

This is a great EDC "knife". I bought this knife for routine tasks I didn't want to expose my "good" knife to.
For a knife this small, it feels quite good and sturdy in the hand, much better than your father's utility knife. It is much thinner than your standard utility knife (though no less sturdy). This is a big plus and allows you to carry it in your pocket. The Gerber construction is first rate with first rate materials (stainless steel). You can hear the mechanism solidly lock on opening. There is absolutely no play (either side to side or up and down) once the blade is extended.
A liner lock keeps the blade in place until you are ready to fold it back down again. There is a nice finger guard that covers about 1/3 of the utility blade preventing any accidents.
The clip in the back is actually welded onto the knife (not a separate piece that is screwed on). I suppose this means it might snap off some day, but I doubt it. The clip is nice, tight, and extends all the way to the edge of the knife. Even if it does snap off, the weld is on the inside portion of the body, hidden from view.
The knife takes standard sized utility blades. By carrying a small pack of blades, your knife never goes dull! You can use both sides of the blade before discarding it. Changing the blade will require a slotted screwdriver, but this means the blade is truly securely fastened (pins will loosen over time). I will probably use Lennox blades, but Irwin is fine as well.
You can't beat this knife and the price makes it even better! I'm happy I made this purchase.

Bought this knife June 7, 2011. Had to repurchase July 24, 2015 because sadly I misplaced it, most likely pulled it out of my back pocket unknowingly with my keys when I was out running an errand.
I'm writing this review because this knife is a huge part of my every day carry and I recommend it for every one. I read some other reviews giving this knife a low rating and people having some general complaints. For those people, just return the knife, the knife didn't want you anyway.
For $10 you get a nearly indestructible construction and a forever replaceable blade. The revamped model has a larger, sturdier clip and has a slightly bulkier grip, but it feels great in your hands nonetheless.
The knife is easy to flip out and easy to close, and it locks super securely too. There is also a finger guard for added safety.
I have used my knife to bash things as well as to conveniently open bottle caps. (This only makes sense to people who know how to open a bottle with a lighter, or with any other hard, handy object.)
All in all, I've carried this knife since 2011, and if I didn't lose it, I'd have it for years to come, quite possibly for the rest of my life which brings me to one last point: this knife comes with a FULL LIFETIME WARRANTY.
Heck I might just buy another one for keepsake.

Love It! I use the clip for my pocket instead of for money. This thing is well made. I think I will file down the blade retaining screw since it tends to catch my fingernails when I put my hand in my pocket. Other than that, no complaints!

This is my third one of these because I keep losing them. My previous one though had the brushed finish coming off on most of it as it seemed to have contaminants underneath making the coating start to delamate from the housing. Even though Gerber has a so-called life-time warranty when I try and send them an email to their warranty department it always comes back to me, if I send an message straight through their warranty webpage no one ever answers. I have another Gerber knife that has failed and at this point there is nothing I can even do except keep trying to reach out to someone there but until they get back I'm done buying any good (pricier) knife from them, these ones though are cheap enough that if they fail or get lost it's no biggie. Love the compactness of this razor though.

I have owned this box cutter just over a year and could not be happier with it, it is far and away the best box cutter I have ever used, I say that for several reasons.
The 1st being its quality build, the EAB lite in which I own has been used daily since the day it was delivered, this product features deep finger groves that provide an incredibly secure grip, making it perfect for anything from cutting boxes, to the more tedious of tasks, the deep groves offer superb control.
The 2nd reason I am so fond of this product is due to its size, it is incredibly compact, so compact that I often forget it is even in my pocket. It's compact size makes it perfect for those who need to transport this from job to job.
The 3rd reason I am so partial to the EAB elite is due to the stainless steel handle on the back. This handle is an incredibly convenient added feature, this handle also doubles as a money or pocket clip. I should also mention that this product features a contract grade replaceable utility blade. Like I stated previously, I have owned this owned this product over a year and I am still using the same blade it came with, with which in my experience with similar products, is nothing short of a miracle.
With all that being said, if you're looking for a very well crafted utility blade with unrivaled durability, look no further, the EAB lite is the one for you. You will not be disappointed with your purchase, it's a year later and I'm still grateful I came upon this item.

I love having a razor sharp edc blade, and the fact that you can exchange a blade (EAB) with it is so convenient! I usually place a Dewalt carbide edged blade in these because I don't usually do to rough of work with them, (carbide blades break easily but are renowned for their ability to cut straight for ages!) Just as long as you cut straight and don't scrape with them, like stripping hardcore wires.

I love this knife! Jack Spirko linked it on his site so I grabbed a few, for the price you can't just have one. They are small and light enough to just slip in your pocket and be there when you need it. I use this as a box opener type blade and just a way to save the blade on my main knife. Cheap enough to have a few and give away when someone likes them.

I bought this knife when it was on sale, for under $8... You cannot go wrong with a price like that!
I have a few chores around the house that have been destroying my expensive knives, ruining their edge, and covering them with sticky gunk (thank you Amazon and your great boxes <g>). ;-)
I really like the look of the blade as it is small, sleek, all metal and has a clip.
I love that I can clip it to my jean pocket as I walk around doing some chores in my gardens. It is also very sharp, and I like that the blade can be changed once it becomes dull. That was a big reason why I purchased it, as I didn't want to have to keep sharpening my other expensive knives constantly.
I have not had to change a blade yet, but it appears to be straight forward. I also read that Gerber stands behind this knife, and should I have any issues, or break the clip, they respond immediately. So far I am sold.
After I use it a month or two, if it holds up well, I will increase my rating to 5 stars.

I love this little knife and I am changing my rating from 4 star to 5 star. If you buy from Amazon a lot, you need one of these to cut up your boxes! It works great.
