I needed to do just a little sheet metal work, and these were perfect. They cost about 1/3 of the cheapest similar product at the big home improvement stores. They are like any other Vise-Grip, but made for bending sheet metal.

This tool is well constructed and functions perfectly to bend HVAC sheet metal to desired angle. It is especially useful for installing duct transitions flanges and for general sheet metal bending. I use it and I would buy in again, I recommend this product, it does what it was designed to.

My use for these may not be for sheet metal as I use these to hold guitar nuts and/or bridges which are thin and not very wide so that I can use table belt sander without sanding my fingertips! Very easy to adjust with the perfect tension.

These vice grips are great for welding panels together, perfect area to hold a longer piece to be welded, I use these on Auto body welding and they work great, it's also nice to see they are made in the USA. IRWIN is the original "VISE GRIP", I didn't know that until I opened the package and read this on the label. Excellent grip strength, and easy to open.

Can't go wrong with Irwin brand ViceGrips, I own several different pairs. I liked that the wide plates on this pair are bowed slightly, like a nearly closed ziplock, so that they can provide equal clamping force.
My application was to pinch the window guides on my Subaru to get rid of wind-noise.

What can I say. If there is one quintessential American tool it's Irwin Vise Grips. I used this to form three foot aluminum pieces to act as a screw on guard to prevent squirrels from getting into my attic. I'm not sure where it's made but it's every bit as high quality as one that I had 30 years ago.

I've been using it for gripping parting beads in my old sashes. I really like it better than a standard brake because the adjustable handle lets you open it evenly, so you get a clean, parallel grip on the bead. No crushing it into a wedge wherever you grip it. Of course, the bummer is that I am STILL breaking most of them... just too much paint binding them, too old and too much weather weakened them. Oh well... I save a few with this tool.

Don't bother with the cheap "Harbor Freight" Quality pliers they are worth exactly what you pay for them. I use these pliers professionally and they are the best I have found. These are replacements for a pair I wore out after five years of almost daily use. the old ones are still useable just are not as precise as I need them to be so now they will be my back ups. Spend the extra few dollars on these you wont be disappointed.

Along with the other vise grips these work well for sheetmetal or holding flat items together while glueing. If you are looking for them you probably already new that, so yes it's a good quality tool.

We erect self-storage buildings. My crews use these on the gutters. They cut the gutter with a knife, then use these tools to fold back the metal to attach to the downspouts. Honestly don't know how they did it before I found these. A MUST HAVE for the crews.
