We got these to secure our King Canopy Garden Party 10x10. Based on other reviews online I opted to fill gallon ziploc bags with sand (2 in each) and then top with a layer of very large rocks. They have held our canopy down during some pretty strong winds and rain storms. No problems with the zippers however I really babied them to avoid anything from going wrong. As long as you don't lift the bag by the part that zips while they are full you should be just fine.

I put up an awning in my driveway to park my car under for the summer.......convertible, pine needles, tree sap, ugh, etc.....you understand why. Anyway, I researched 'anchors' for my awning. I found them to range from fairly cheap to down right rediculous in price. After all, they hold sand for heaven sakes. For the love of my car I found myself drawn to the expensive ones. Then one day I came to my senses and finally decided to purchase these. I'm so glad. These are well made. A five gallon bucket filled three quarters of the way with sand will fill approx. two. I live in Washington
State so finding a windy rainy blustery day has not been a problem......and so far so good. Would definitely recommend.

I'm an event photographer - and for this fall's marching band season we added a canopy, windscreen and weights to our equipment wagon. One single time sharing a canopy with another event organizer who did not have weights- and a crazy windy afternoon that literally demolished that canopy - made me vow to never attempt to use a canopy without weights. We used one set of four weght plates on each of the four corners - but also supplemented with these canvas weight bags filled with clean cat litter. We are typically setup on the track of a football field, next to chain link fencing. The two back legs of our canopy we secure TO the chain link using two of the wrap-around canopy weight bags in addition to the weight disks. Our canopy made it through the season intact. Helpful hint: place gallon size ziploc bags inside the canopy bags before filling - then fill the ziplocs with cat litter, sand, etc, then zip them closed and zip the canvas closed. DON'T fill the ziploc and then try to insert it into the cylindrical canvas bag. I can see us using these canvas weigt bags for tripods and light stands as well as our canopy. Great purchase.

Item did what is was suppose to do. We used 1.5 litre Mt. Dew bottles filled w water as weights.

Awesome! These are a lifesaver. We have a booth at our local farmers market and weighing our tent down was a total pain until we got these! We filled them with pea gravel and they do a great job even on windy days!

I am a vendor and I bought these so I wouldn't have a very expensive "oops" with my new canopy. I loved them as soon as I took them out of the package, they are very heavy duty. I bought some construction sand since it is cheap and is larger sand granules, I used about 120lbs of sand between the four weight bags. The zipper stay closed by themselves, but just in case I zip tied the two tube zippers together. These are very easy to use, at my first outside show using these I had half a dozen other vendors jealous of how professional these looked on the legs of my canopy.
I really like the Velcro, you can adjust the size for the tightest fit. These held my canopy down easily in moderate winds on a concrete pad.
Easy to toss around and keep in the back of your vehicle. I am looking forward to using these weight bags for years to come.

Our first windy day at the farmer's market we were caught short with no weights, so my partner had to hold the tent the entire time. Not cool. Off to amazon to find some weights- found these guys and the price is perfect! Another $5 in sand, and about 15 minutes of time, and poof- awesome weights! They hold just at 35 lb each, and weight that tent wonderfully. We've had several windy days since, and no worries as these guys do the job. Fantastic invention, and I'm super glad I purchased!

These have been working great for over a year. We used two sets on a huge gazebo with 8 legs. I read other reviews about them ripping so we were careful and didn't have a single problem. I don't know how sturdy they'd be with being moved around a lot, but for a stationary gazebo they have been great. They are mostly hidden by the curtains when they're bunched up against the poles which is a plus.
Each eight is divided into two bags and holds about 25lbs of sand total (so you'll get 100 lbs of weight per set). With the 200 pounds we have in place our gazebo hasn't budged in over 40 mph winds.
UPDATE: We just put another set on a second gazebo, one set only, and it is held well in a recent storm. This time my husband fit only about 75lbs of sand in them, but we'll probably add another 25 once it settles.

I filled these weights with course sand in an one gallon zip lock freezer bags. Two bags per side/tube. I did not fill with sand and then try to put the bags in the tubes. I filled the bags while they were in the tubes. I put them around each leg of my EZ-Up on top of 7.5 pound leg weights to insure stability during strong winds.

Bought these for our 13x10 foot canapy gazebo. It gets very windy here in the afternoon.
Went to pet store and bought 50 pound bag of kitty litter (the sand kind, Not the lighter weight clay kind). 50 lbs is all they'll hold and sand was $10.
Perfect.
I'm impressed with the quality of these. Surprised actually. Zippers are nice, fabric is heavy duty. Overall, well made.
