The light has 3 or 4 settings. I bought one for my son and I and sitting around the campfire at night we didnt need to light up the lantern because this provided us with plenty of light for whatever we were doing. It is probable a little bulkier than some of the more expensive models, but I didn't notice any problems with the weight of it on my head.
Bottom line, it works great and is brighter than I expected and I wouldn't pay more money for one of the more expensive brands.

Probably not bright enough to do an open chest triple value bypass but will do for allowing your hands free for small work like hanging a picture in a dim hallway or organizing junk in a closet or drilling a hole in the correct spot at night....dont ask me why one would want to do that but one can with this if one wishes.

I have had similar headlamps but not as versatile as this one. During the recent hurricane when the lights were out for several days, I was able to get by with a similar headlamp. I worked on building a model, read books and was able to carry-on pretty much as well as with normal lighting.
But this unit is superior to the one that served well during the storm. It is brighter and offers two different degrees of brightness. In addition it has an interesting featrure of allowing the choice of showing a blinking red "emergency" light.
I would recommend this to hobbyists needing more light on the workpiece, people needing light while working in the dark, and particularly for emergency kits to employ (the device) during black-outs and similar events.

This product is proof that good things come in small packages. I loved this headlamp so much that I bought five of them.
Two went to my kids who use them to read in bed at night. One went to my dad to provide extra and targeted illumination for hands-free work. Two more were deployed to in-case-of-emergency locations: in the glove compartment of my car as well as the kitchen supply drawer. I'm holding the final one as a future gift.
At one-third the originally listed price, this headlamp is a bargain for which you'll find a use. Everything about this item is outstanding. It has a lightweight design featuring a wide-strap, adjustable and elastic head band. A click of the side rubber button sets the brightness: 1 click is two LEDs, 2 clicks is 10 LEDs, 3 clicks is the full 18 LEDs, and the 4th click is the 2 blinking red LEDs.
Comfort isn't sacrificed for value - thick foam padding is embedded almost flush to the inside of the forehead plate. Finally, the unit sits on the front of that plate and can be rotated down to more than a 90 degree angle.
This is a super bright, compact, ingenious and user-friendly headlamp. I replaced the enclosed off-brand batteries with longer-lasting batteries. The no-frills packaging and low price belie the high quality and value of this headlamp. I highly recommend multiple purchases of this item.

This (newer) LED lighting is just plain amazing - it's like condensed daylight.
The (adjustable) straps allow for a perfect fit - after awhile to don't even feel it.
You can get right up (say under the car) to the thing you need to check on. And with both hands free, you can get your job done.
Not only are the straps adjustable, but so is the aim of the light; however, when you are working close to something, the differences
in the range of motion of the light is too much. Say you want to move the light down just a little; no, it moves to much (until the next click)
that you can't even see your target (again, that's for up close). Moving the light on your forehead will get your target in view, but doesn't stay in that position for to long (just my experience) .
Great for night walking, especially if there are no street lights.
Choice of 3 different brightness levels, plus dual flashing red lights (only, not in addition to the white) for emergencies or just to be noticed at dusk;
walking on the side of the road.

I have a couple of high end headlamps and after buying this much cheaper version I was worried about what I'd get. When it came in the mail I was very happy to see that it is everything you expect, the one side of the lamp twists off to insert the batteries, which the other side has a push button to control the lighting. Since I bought a couple of these for me and my wife other friends of mine have equally bought some for themselves and thus far everyone is loving them for their price and for the quality from working outside at night to riding their bikes after dark, I am going to be buying more of these for all those chores where you need a light and need a nice headlamp.

I bought this in June of 2015 and paid $6.99. I used it last summer on a camping trip and it really came in handy. We were at a campground and among its many uses I found that this was helpful even in walking to the toilets. I actually used it in the shower stall too as the lighting in there was really poor and there were things in there I did not want to touch.
Sometimes it's helpful to keep both hands free for other tasks and this accommodated my needs. I now keep it in my SUV just in case. No workmanship complaints and the battery life is good.

I can't believe the excellent value I got for this headlamp!!! It works amazing with 3 different brightnesses and also a flash red light. Fits comfortably and very light. I do wish that there was an option for a solid red light to read by at night!

Honestly, I'm an idiot. It took me a couple of weeks to figure out where the switch was and customer support, which is somewhere overseas and not exactly in English that I understand, was not helpful. They did send me a second headlamp free of charge after I asked how to operate the first one. There are no instructions that come with it.

Wow! What a cool gadget! It has 3 positions for the light to point to and the little black rubber button on the side of the headlamp (where the batteries go), just push that and it changes 3 different light settings and the additional red light blinking :)
I left the batteries (WHICH THEY INCLUDED!!!) in the little holder but removed the whole holder to store for when I need it so they don't drain. The elastic head-holder is adjustable too.
I am so happy with this purchase!!!
