Great product in it's own right, but I still prefer the D-Light solar light for general usage.
In the picture, you can see both lights. The D.Light on the left and the Luci on the right. Both put out about the same exact amount of light (plenty bright enough to light up any indoor space).
The Luci might SEEM brighter because there is really nothing to stop the light from dispersing whereas there is, in essence, a "lampshade" on the other. That's negated by turning them both upside down as pictured.
I left both run from 8:30 PM onward.
The Luci was dead by 5:00 AM. The D-light was still going (but VERY dim). So it tells me that the battery is slightly better on the d.light (especially since that specific light was/is several years old).
I charged the Luci during the day and it lasted about the same amount of time the next night - so I don't think you'd have any problem getting a useful amount of run-time out of a normal day's charge.
The only con, in my opinion, is the lack of a powered charging option. This is definitely a deficiency when compared to the d.light. That compared with the fact that it doesn't last quite as long on a charge is what makes me say I prefer the d.light.
However, this guy really shines (pardon the pun) in a few areas. Portability being the most obvious. It can obviously be compacted much more, which makes it great for backpacks or in the car, if space is at a premium.
The fact that its water proof and buoyant are what prompted me to get it to keep in my boat.
Even though I prefer the d.light, it's by a very slim margin. This is a great product and I'm sure you'll be very pleased!

I gave Luci to my family as gifts and they were so impressed! They already used the light during an unexpected power outage. I also took Luci on a recent work trip to Ethiopia where electricity was unreliable. I actually set up the light one day in the office when the power went out so we could continue working. I also showed Luci to families that don't have light in their homes and they couldn't believe that it didn't burn their hands or cause indoor smoke. Such an amazing and important invention.

We love 'Luci'. In fact we just ordered 4 more. They are a perfect light source for emergencies and camping. Compact for storing in small spaces, safe for children, inexpensive to use (solar rechargeable) and will easily last a full evening of use. The inflatable sides are strong, but should be handled carefully to avoid getting marred or scratched. I think they are pretty cost effective considering....no batteries!

Can't say enough about this product. During Hurricane Sandy, we were without power for a week. We were fortunate enough to have one for every room. The lantern gives off enough illumination to provide more than adequate lighting for most everyday chores. I've taken them camping, walking the dogs and jogging at night. Fabulous! And all it needs to recharge is to be put by a window during daylight hours. I highly recommend this innovative product.

This light is fun for camping, emergencies, and just plain showing off. Nobody has seen this, and everyone I show it to loves it. It's bright, waterproof, portable and recharges in the sun. What's not to like?

Have seen these on various camping trips and they are awesome! Provide very good light, good quality, they last a long time and are ideal for camping, backpacking or any outdoor adventure due to their compatibility. I will no longer be using my large Rayovac lantern for my camping trips.

I got two of these, charged them and one stays in the home, for power outages, the other in the RV, for night picnic's and sitting around the camp fires. The multiple settings are great and they really do put out a ton of light.

These are the handiest little lights. We use them in or camper and when backpacking. Super light, recharge well and put out great quality light. The only difference between the Original and the Outdoor models is the packaging/marketing. The products are the same.

I bought this for use in my popup green house. I've ended up using it to grill with, get the mail at night etc. Its lightweight, it puts out a ton of light. its always charged. there is nothing bad to say about this product.

I have had my light only a week, so I can not speak about longevity. But the light provides sufficient light for my bedroom at night, and also when I am moving around the house in the morning while everyone is sleeping. Why not just turn on a light you say? I like the soft light, as well as not hooking up to the power grid each time I need a little light in a spot. Looking forward to taking this backpacking as well. They are in high demand, amazon does not even have any for less than $40 presently. Come back when the price is back at $15 with free shipping.
Update after 1 month - I did experience a problem similar to another user who said the dropped the lantern and put a hole in it. In my case, I left the lantern on the dash of a car all day and it got rather hot. One of the seams opened up, maybe 1/2" or less. I was able to repair it with some goop, and it is good as new. I am surprised the price is still so high, guess that is the law of supply and demand. They are still only $15 on the mpowerd website, but you'll likely pay a shippin cost on top of that.
Still rate this a 5 star product.
