Most spills occur tipping a normal can to get the spout into the tank opening before the liquid comes out, or removing the spout from the target vessel before overflowing. The No-Spill spout is fully user controlled so you tip the can vertical, insert the spout into the vessel opening, then press the button to begin and control pouring. To stop pouring simply release the button. Practically eliminates spills and overflows. The only Spill-Proof spout with thumb button control that does not push down on your tank's filler neck to pour. More control, fewer tip-overs of your small equipment. The fastest pouring Spill-Proof nozzle available. At up to 3 gal/min, compare to other brands at 1.5 to 2.0 gal/min. Meets California Air Resources Board requirements for sale or use in California. Autostop removable nozzle, single opening for filling & pouring, treated can body for low permeation. The most user friendly CARB compliant can available. Fills equipment without the need to press down on the tank opening. 6-inch Flex Spout Extension (sold separately) allows filling of on-road vehicles, boats and many other hard to reach tank openings. No-Spill Gasoline cans are tested and certified to ASTM F-85299 Standard Specification for Portable Gasoline Containers for Consumer Use and our Diesel & Kerosene cans are tested and certified to ASTM F-97602 Standard Specification for Portable Kerosene and Diesel Containers for Consumer Use.

I've gone through a lot of cans in the last 20 years, and this one is, no question, the best.
First note - make absolutely sure you tighten the black collar even more than you've ever had to tighten any other one, because if you don't you'll end up with gas all over like I did. ;)
But once it's cranked down, it works wonderfully.
No gas comes out at all till you push the button, and then it comes out in a great steady stream, no glub glub surges as it transfers air for gas inside the can.
Let go of the button (which is not hard to depress by the way, very smooth action) and gas cuts off, instantly.
The plastic of the can is much sturdier and more solid than the others I've had, seems thicker and better made.
I'm glad I finally got to throw away my nasty 5 gallon beast I've had for the last few years.

This is a great product with a great design. It seems like very solid construction and the spout works as advertised. I get no more overfills when I gas up the mower. Probably the last gas container I'll ever purchase.

After reviewing reviews on this product and knowing that Honda is highly recommending it, I purchased 3 different sizes for 3 different applications. After receiving them, I agree that they are probably the best on the market. There are some products that are very good, but require certain sized gas tank openings to work properly, whereas, the no-spill gas cans work on any size opening. It is a pleasure to pour gas without having to unscrew a gas can cap and not spill a drop.

Good Construction, easy to fill & pour, doesn't spill, right size to store gas for lawn mowers or snowblowers.

I would strongly recomend this can to anyone who uses a gas can often. Its a great tool. I was surprised by how good it was and that I was so happy with it.
The No-Spill gas can lives up to its name. It effectively controls gas flow which is particularly helpful for awkward filling sircumstances.
The can has sensible handle placement for easy lifting and pouring. As others have commented on it has a rugged construction. It also has an efficient shape. I store five of these in a flame proof cabinet where I previously was able to store only four of other types.
The flow rate is very fast compared to other nozzle style dispensors. The nozzle is the only part that some care should be given to. It is made of a more rigid plastic and has some components like gaskets and o-rings. I cracked one when hauling multiple items in the back of a pick up. I also lost an O-Ring which fell off when I was filling at the gas station. The good news is that rings and nozzles are available seperately and are reasonably priced.
Awesome gas can!

I never thought that I'd be writing a glowing review of a gas can, but that was until I'd bought several and been disappointed in their performance. This can works great. The green release button is easy to use (unlike some other no-spill mechanisms that are a pain and/or barely function), the handle is nicely sized, and in an intentional knock-over test it doesn't spill. The 2.5 gallon size is also very nice and is something I wasn't able to find in the big-box stores -- 1 gallon is too small for the amount of power yard equipment I have to gas up and runs out too fast, and 5 gallons is a pain to lug around. The 2.5 gallon size is perfect for my needs. My only complaint is that it didn't come with a longer flexible nozzle like most cans do -- this makes it a little more difficult to fill up mowers and the like.

This product is excellent. It has a wide mouth for easy filling and once you do it a time or two, it works very smoothly. But don't expect it to shut off automatically when it reaches full.

I don't know about you, but I started researching this can when I got sick of gas leaking out of the spout of my other cheaper plastic gas cans, or slopping my gas as I was pouring it into my lawn tractor. I bought one of these to try it, see if it was worth the money, and if it worked. I now have 5 of them :) and there is no looking back!
It truly does not spill, the nifty handle releases air pressure before you pour, and it pours consistently and well. The only feature that might be of concern to someone is that the nozzle is not flexible...it is rigid. For myself, I see this as a plus because the flexible nozzle of the other gas cans I always used, would many times flip out and spew gas as I was trying to remove the spout. That doesn't happen with this can. You push a button to open gas flow and start pouring, then when you release the button the gas stops flowing. Voila! No mess. Sometimes I do have trouble getting the cap off to fill it with gas because it is a very snug fit with a zip tie sort of set up to ensure it doesn't twist off accidentally, but with practice you get the hang of it.

I wanted a good gas can that wouldn't make a mess and so after reading reviews I decided to pick up this No-Spill Ploy Gas Can. This is a fairly traditional gas can with two notable additions. The first is a opaque fill window which easily lets you see how much gas is in the can. This is a nice touch an makes both filling, and seeing how much gas you have very easy. The second is a push button top which makes dispensing gas extremely easy.
The one real issue with the No-Spill Gas Can is that it's extremely important to make sure the cap is on tight. There are some jagged teeth on the cap which helps make sure it doesn't accidentally get unscrewed, it seems like all you have to do is tighten until these teeth engage, but that isn't tight enough. You REALLY need to make sure it's extremely tight or it will leak.
Once is it properly tightened this gas can does live up to its name and it makes dispensing gas into a lawn mower extremely easy. It's exactly what I needed and it does exactly what I wanted.

No more over pouring, spills. This is the best gas can I have used in my 59 years of life! Even sitting in the sun you don't get the can buldge as it vents nicely. Of course you don't leave gasoline in the can in the sun as your octane will gas off. But the can is easy to store and at two and a half gallons much easier to suspend in the air while pouring than a five gallon can.
