This flashlight is well made and I expect it to hold up well. I've owned the more expensive i3S for four months now and it has been carried and used every day successfully. Some may lament the loss of the lobster claw keychain not being included with this new model, i3E, but honestly, the lobster claw keychain was junk. For the price, this new model is a champ and deserves a five star rating. But if you want something that you intend to use daily, the i3S is a better choice. The reason I say this is because the E model only has one brightness setting (high) while the S model has four settings and allows the user to maximize battery life if the highest brightness setting is not required. Now, with that said, the S model is almost double the cost of this model and if you'll only have the light on long enough to find your keys or quickly hunt the depths of your junk drawer, than the E model is perfect for you.
If you already have an S model, you'll be happy to know that the clip will fit on the base of the E model... but not the head. My preference is having the ability to clip to the head so I can attach the light to the bill of my hard hat and use as a headlamp.
Bottom line:
I think this is a great little flashlight but it won't be replacing my i3S for every day carry.

This is a review of the Olight i3E EOS 90 Lumen Flashlight in Black. I am an enthusiast of flashlights and coolers. This flashlight meets my criteria perfectly well: 1) small as possible, 2) bright, 3) lightweight, 4) uses only 1 aa or aaa battery, 5) is waterproof, and 6) has a simple interface.
Positives:
1. This is tiny, even more so than the Fenix E05 (which was already tiny).
2. This is very bright and appears to be about the 90 lumens that it claims.
3. This is even lighter than the Fenix E05. This is the lightest AAA keychain style flashlight that I have come across. You can tell by my reviews, I have had a lot of experience with flashlights. Out of all of the AAA flashlights, this is the first that I do not mind having on my keychain, which is a very lightweight setup.
4. It uses just one AAA battery, which is common in other things such as your remote controls for the television.
5. It has the same o-ring design as other lights in this category with the typical IPX-8 submersible standards.
6. It has the most simple interface, just twist for on and twist back again for off! That is my favorite feature of this light. With other lights, 95% of the time is used on the "high" level. All of my other flashlights, with exception of the Fenix E11 which is my favorite light (too bad it has already been replaced with the E12), require users to cycle between multiple brightness levels along with SOS or Strobe modes to get to your desired setting. This is just simple on-and-off.
Negatives:
- None.
Neutral:
1. The Fenix E11 is my favorite AA flashlight (and overall flashlight) being the smallest AA flashlight I have come across and it has my favorite feature of a simple CLICK of the button switch to turn on and turn off. This Olight i3E is likely my favorite AAA flashlight as it has just one setting of "high" and has one simple step of TWIST tight to turn on and loose to turn off. Both flashlights have a simple one-step interface. However, I prefer the easier to use (especially with one hand) CLICK switch to the TWIST switch. This is just my preference.
Some may argue that the twist switch is more reliable, which has merit to it. Other will say that a click button switch can be accidentally activated if bumped into something, which is possible. Lastly, if this flashlight had a click button switch on it, it would likely be longer in length. Despite all of these points, I have found the simple click is easier to use with one hand and I have never had the Fenix E11 accidentally turn on whether in my pocket or in a bag.
I have only had this light for a couple of weeks as of March 12, 2016. It is too soon to determine if this is a reliable flashlight, which will require continued use over time. So far, it has been attached to my keychain, which stays in my pocket or gets thrown into a bag for most of the day. An update will be provided in several months to report on how this light does. Previous experiences with the Fenix E05 has been disappointing as at least four of the flashlights that I purchased (for myself and family members) failed within a year's time. These lights were all replaced with the larger Fenix E11, which all continue to work, as does my Fenix LD20. Though the other lights continue to function well, I must admit that the failures of the E05 really hurt my confidence in Fenix.
Overall, I rate the Olight i3E EOS 90 lumen flashlight a 5.0 out of 5.0 stars. It is the simplest, tiniest, lightest, single AAA light around. I use it just about on a daily basis. It is the first AAA light that is comfortable enough to have attached to my keychain, which go everywhere with me.
UPDATE June 30, 2016:
This is easily my favorite AAA light ever. In addition to the black version that was originally purchased, I also picked up the copper version ($20) and two of the silver versions ($13 each). This should show you how much this flashlight is appreciated. My wife took over the beautiful, but heavier copper one. My favorite is the silver version, which I put in our emergency kit. Once again, this is the simplest, tiniest, and most lightweight AAA flashlight I have owned. Best feature, according to my preferences, is the one setting of full power mode. With other lights, too much time is wasted on finding the desired setting. With this one, you know that there is just one full power mode before you even turn it on.
UPDATE July 8, 2016:
Attached are some pictures to compare the Olight 90 Lumens i3E EOS in black. A size comparison with the 4Sevens Preon 2 in Green, the 4Sevens Preon 1 in solid Titanium, and the Olight i3E EOS in black. The other pictures compare the beam shots for 3 lights in high mode at a 20 inch distance from a white wall (the Preon 2 on the left, the Preon 1 in the middle, and the Olight i3E EOS on the right). I believe Preon 2 claims 192 lumens, Preon 1 was 80 if I recall, and the Olight i3E is 90 lumens.

This is an incredibly bright light. They say only 90 lumens but i put it up against a fenix eo5 (85 lumens) and the idp a3 eos upgraded (130 lumen) bith with fresh batteries and this light blew them both out of the water. Build is solid and finish is perfect. Simple twist action is easy to do one handed. I have always liked the color and beam from the luxeon led. This is such a under used led for flashlights. I gave this to my daughter for walks back to heralartment from classes. She has a couple larger 2 cell aa lights but i wanted something small and bright in a tiny form that she can just clip onto her keys. This is the perfect light for that. Green is her favorite color and she was thrilled that dad got her a light to match her green leatherman micra

This new design is both inspired and scary. It gains new record for small size by compacting the components in the head of the flashlight even further, but at the expense of leaving them more exposed to potential damage from the battery. I hope it has proper longevity. Unfortunately it did not come with a "Lobster Claw Clasp", like the old ITP Flash lights did.

I've had the iTP version this descended from and the earlier olight version, I knew this would be a bit brighter, at 90 lumens instead of 80 max, but, it also turned out to be significantly smaller - which is great, because I keep it on my keychain. Wish they included a clip, for a hat, even though I probably would never use it because I wouldn't leave it on the keychain. It is like a whole centimeter smaller (shorter) than the old model - a LOT for a AAA light - and it seems "more brighter" than I thought it would be, compared to the old one. Tiny, bright, well made, happy with it.

I spent days searching and researching single AAA flashlights for both my keychain and camping supplies, and this is what I settled on for a keychain light. [NOTE: Amazon.com has 1 review category for all the different versions of this light. I selected the 120 lumen aluminum version for my keyring and the black aluminum 90 lumen version for camping. They're both quite bright, but I like the slightly longer run time of the 90 lumen model for camping, and the slightly tighter threads on the 120 lumen model for my pocket light.]
NONE of the other items I poured over really fit the bill of something simple (1 function), cheap (~$10-$15), keychain compatible, brighter than a 30 yr old incandescent maglite, with a reasonable run time, sturdy build and with what at least appears to be a decently supported warranty. These lights are all of that and more, containing optics from just the past couple years, and being even lighter than the batteries they run on (7.7g for the light, 18.9g for the light and an alkaline AAA battery). They're made in China, sure, but so is EVERY OTHER FLASHLIGHT in current production, unless you want to plunk ~$70 on a Surefire light with comparable specs and significantly more mass (thank you, no).
It took a while to find these since, unlike the brands you see plastered at the top of every search for "AAA flashlight", these guys don't dump $$$$$$$$$$$$ into promoting themselves. Hence what you get it a product that stands on its own merits and all but sells itself, and for less than half what the competition charges for their brands, many of which use older technology.
So far I'm beyond stoked--the flashlights themselves feels solid and sturdy in spite of weighing less than 2 US quarters, and the light they throw is smooth, clean and delightfully bright. My only fear was the top twisting off in my pocket, but you really have to tighten the top down a LOT to get the lights to activate so I don't anticipate any issues along those lines. I'll update this review in a few months after these lights have had a change to prove themselves in action.
Since the size and threads are the same between all these models and the electronics are in the head, the heads/bodies are interchangeable. This provides no functional improvement, but it does make for variations in aesthetics if you have these lights with different color bodies.

This is the smallest flashlight that I own but it's brighter than all of them.
I have a small collection of flashlights that I have acquired over the years. Some have adjustable beams and others provide other functions. (Strobe, laser pointer etc)
What I love about this light is that it just works flawlessly.
It will light up an entire room.
I keep it on my keyring and don't even notice the weight.
Pros:
Bright
Lightweight
Very small
Waterproof
Uses 1 AAA battery.
Cons:
Not a bad thing but if it had a push button instead of a twist to turn it on....I would be happier.

Amazingly bright for it's diminutive size. I live in a rural area and am always worried about stepping on a rattle snake in the dark, walking from my truck to the house. This powerful, yet tiny flashlight enables me to negotiate that treacherous journey with a modicum of safety and assurance.

I bought this for my girlfriend to replace her Nite-ize keychain squeeze light which i bought to replace a cheapo keychain flashlight she got for free from our apartment. I believe having a small flashlight on you in some shape or form is a very practical item to have.
Before i bought the Olight i3E EOS for my girlfriend, I've been carrying a Fenix E12 light most days in my pocket while she had the Nite-ize keychain squeeze light. One night, I was driving us around in my car when we felt/heard a rhythmic thump in one of the tires. We drove to a parking lot and she stepped out to check out the tires as i slowly drove to rotate the tires. Her nite-ize squeeze light ended up being too dim to see anything and so she had to use my Fenix E12 and she was able to spot a bolt that got stuck in my tires.
I used that incident to decide to replace that squeeze light. in my search i found and tried out the Olight i3E EOS (90 lumen). The main reason i picked this light was for the advertised size and lumen rating. Women's pants generally have useless pockets so she needed a light that was small enough to fit on a keychain but also bright enough for general use. When we received the light, we were both really impressed.
The size of the light is very impressive. its smaller than her chapstick and very compact. In addition to that the brightness for its size is very impressive. If i didn't already have my Fenix E12, i would consider buying an Olight i3E EOS for myself. It fits nicely on her keychain and is not cumbersome in any way. Plus, it uses a relatively common battery. I would recommend this to anyone who doesn't want to carry a flashlight because of its small un-intrusive size and price. the value is far better than the Fenix E12 i think. that being said I would still prefer the Fenix E12 right now since i already own it and buying another flash light would be redundant for me.
the pictures depict the brightness of the Olight on the RIGHT compared to the different lumen settings ("8 lumens", "50 lumens", "130 lumens") of the Fenix E12 on the LEFT

I was very impressed with this little flashlight. It worked perfect for what I used it for.
I had purchased a sewer camera and the LEDs on the camera stopped working in less than the first 15 minutes of use. Working with the seller of the sewer camera was ridiculous and was taking an unreasonable amount of time.
This is when I thought of the idea of attaching a very small waterproof flashlight to the head of the sewer camera to provide light being that the LEDs on the camera failed. I wanted to add as little as bulk as possible to the camera so that the camera could make turns without getting stuck.
I used some gaffer's tape to fasten the flashlight to the head of the camera and fed the camera into the pipe.
I was amazed at the clear, white light that this little flashlight could put out.
The flashlight was subjected to flipping around in a cast iron sewer pipe and being pushed and dragged in and out of water and the flashlight performed beyond my expectations!
This is one tough, bright little flashlight!
As an FYI, this is the gaffer's tape that I used:
