Designed for aggressive performance, the PORTER-CABLE PC60TPAG 4-1/2-inch small angle grinder/cut-off tool offers a compact, lightweight platform to professionals who are looking for corded power on the job site. It's ideal for contractors, welders, fabricators, masons, and other tradesmen whose work includes grinding, metal cutting, polishing, and tuckpointing.
Power and Convenience
One of the lightest grinders on the market at just 4.1 pounds, the PC60TPAG's 7 amp motor delivers up to 11,000 RPM for tough jobsite applications while the cast metal gear housing helps to dissipate heat, ensuring that it will stand up to the demands of today's worksite. In addition to a three-position handle for ease of use and positioning for a variety of applications, the PC60TPAG also offers a comfortable and convenient paddle switch that provides additional control by automatically shutting off if dropped.
With more and more job sites using a traditional grinder with a cut off guard for cutting metal, the PC60TPAG includes a grinding guard and cutting guard. The two guards are tool-free and can be easily adjusted to control the spark path, increasing productivity and safety on the jobsite. Additional accessories include a side handle, grinding wheel, cut-off wheel, and a wrench.
Warranty
This PORTER-CABLE tool is backed by three-year limited warranty covering any defects due to faulty materials or workmanship (from the date of purchase). It's also covered by Porter-Cable's one-year free service contract, where Porter-Cable will maintain the tool and replace worn parts caused by normal use--for free.

My old angle grinder died after 6 years of hard use ( got it as a promo for $15 so it lived a good life). Like the pressure switch that stops the tool when you release it. Much safer than the old slide button type and easier on the hand. Love the 2 guards that allow grinding and cut-off use. Plenty of power and about normal vibration for this kind of tool. All-in-all, great buy for the money. Hope this one lasts as long.

I needed to cut some 5/8 inch case hardened chrome plated steel rod. This did a great job. I am so glad I didn't attempt this with a "do it all" tool like the RotoZip. The 7 amp motor provided more than adequate power. With frequent stops to water-cool the rod, each cut took only 5 minutes. The grinding wheel smoothed the cut very quickly. I think this will be a tool that is used much more than anticipated. I would highly recommend it.

Great quality grinder. Much better than the $9 grinders available at "China Freight" of the $29 grinder from WallyWorld.
Powerful, feels solid in the hand and provides the peace of mind when you feel the tool is not going to catastrophically fail in your hands (possibly sending you to the ER).
I've had good luck with Porter Cable in the past, with corded drills, cordless drills and cordless drivers and circular saws and this grinder follows suit with the quality I've grown to expect from the brand. Are there better brands out there? Sure, absolutely, but not at this price in my opinion. Porter Cable offer a tremendous value for the money.
I feel I'll have this tool around for a good long time and won't let me down.

I purchased this grinder to cut some metal tubing that I was using for a retaining wall. The grinder arrived well packaged and undamaged. The included tool to change wheels is easy to use. The three positions for the support handle are well placed.
The grinder cut the metal tubing easily and the metal cutting shroud directed the hot sparks away from my hands without getting in the way of the cut. I also used the grinder to make clean plunge cuts on a metal garage cabinet for an electrical outlet. Again the grinder performed well and made the cuts easily.
The trigger safety mechanism keeps you from accidentally starting the grinder unintentionally but can easily be operated with one hand.
Overall I am very happy with the grinder I just wish it came with a hard or soft carrying case, but for the price I can't complain.

Very happy with this grinder, in particular because it has a cutting guard and can use cutting wheels. Surprisingly some 4.5" grinders aren't setup for cutting. Side handle is thin plastic, head does not rotate, OSHA approved flappy paddle switch is a bit weird to get used to, all of this is fine given the low price.

Great little angle grinder - had no problems cutting through 1/4" cold rolled mild steel. For anyone who's never used an AG before: make sure you wear flame retardant long sleeves, gloves, and a face mask - there will be hot sparks everywhere!

A great tool at a great price! I couldn't see spending double or triple the price on a different grinder, and I'm glad I didn't. This has plenty of power. It's maybe louder than other models, but that's what ear protection is for. Great tool for the backyard mechanic who is sick of messing around with rusted nuts and bolts. If you can't loosen it with a socket, just cut it off.

This is a good tool and an excellent package/kit. I bought the kit because of the included cutoff guard. Not only does the guard protect against injury from blade breakage and kickback but it is excellent protection from sparks. I had borrowed a neighbor's angle grinder with no guard and used it to cut some metal. That was nasty business with sparks in my face. I had safety glasses but no face shield. With the Porter-Cable I was able to position the cutoff guard perfectly to direct sparks away from me. Shame on all manufacturers who sell angle grinders/cutoff tools without the cutoff guard. A grinding guard is a poor and unsafe substitute when cutting is the job at hand.
Tip: If you are not familiar with cutoff wheels understand that they don't get dull. They just get smaller and smaller with a continually decreasing depth of cut. Be sure to purchase some extra wheels when you purchase a tool.

This PORTER-CABLE PC60TPAG 7-Amp 4-1/2-Inch Angle Grinder is a quality tool and a terrific value. I don't believe you can do better for the price.
I suggest you avoid putting the tool under load until it's allowed to "break in". Do this by free-running the grinder for several minutes somewhere well ventilated. The initial smell will dissipate while the motor brushes and commutator "seat".
Caution: READ THE MANUAL! If you have little or no experience with angle grinders, STOP! Search on-line for tips and guidance. Used improperly, this tool can be dangerous.

I purchased this grinder/cutter to use when I weld. I needed a good angle grinder that could also mount cutter wheels and brushes, this angle grinder fits the bill! I have not had a bit of problem with this grinder, it is well balanced and is easy to change the grinder wheels.
