I plan to install functional shutters on our home, which involves drilling dozens of holes in the brick exterior. A hammer drill and quality bits are vital. This drill is the answer. It has two speeds and can operate as either a hammer drill or not. With a half-inch chuck and lots of power it is a beast. Compared to other drills, often with less features, the price is great and buying through Amazon is easy and secure.

I bought this thinking that I'd use the hammer drilling feature for a deck project, but I ended up using it as a regular drill to bore some pretty deep holes through double 2x8's and several 6x6 posts, 28 holes altogether. The drill performed extremely well, had plenty of power, and was very lightweight and easy to handle. I have no reservations in recommending this drill.

I had a relatively small project, to drill into the driveway to anchor a Shelter Logic garage. I was really amazed and pleased how the combination of this hammer drill and the Dewalt Rock Carbide SDS Plus Hammer Bit Set drilled very neat uniform holes in the cement. It seemed that it was easier to go through the cement than through wood with a wood bit. I liked the way the handle attached at the front and found the depth gauge very useful. Now I'm looking for the next chance to use this great drill. It is well made versatile and works well. I would recommend it for household projects. I can't say how it would stand up to daily use by a professional. But the price makes this a great value.

Used it to drill in a 60 year old concrete slab and it works fine. I thought it was pretty light too. Has lots of power and the batteries never go dead. Also the chuck seems very well made and the cord is long. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase.

I used this product to drill 50 or 60 holes into some 4x4x4 concrete slabs that I needed to break up using a set of wedges and shims. It didn't get much of a break for an entire day and did get a little hot. But, still works and functions like a champ and had plenty of power to get the job done. Be careful with this drill it has plenty of torque.

This is a solid drill in both regular and hammer mode. In hammer mode it went through our regular brick and masonry block walls without any trouble at all. It is loud and of course it has a fair amount of vibration in hammer mode but it really gets the job done. No trouble changing bits. Having the cord means no power fade as it always has enough juice and it holds up to bigger projects.

Using this thing to anchor Tapcon Screws into my basement for supporting walls and let me tell you, it's very good at what it does. So good in fact I have to be careful not to go to far for fear of breaking the head of the TapCon.
The drill is extraordinarily loud so be prepared for that when using it but it also has a BUTTLOAD of torque behind it... this drill isn't for wimps at all...the only feature I might change would be to throw a quick chuck on it rather than a key. I do realize that the key will ultimately do better but I feel like it should be an option of some sort

Overall found this to be a good quality drill for the price. I needed something with more grunt than a battery drill and this fit the bill. So far it has handled jobs with no problem, both hammer and non-hammer, using bits up to 1/2". It is lighter than I expected, which is a good thing as my wife is able to use it too with no problem. The plastic depth gauge is not an issue for me, as it is the same as my top of the line Bosch from thirty years ago.
Before purchasing I looked around at local DIY stores and nothing came close for the price; I know Porter-Cable is no longer manufactured here, but this is still a good quality item.

Perfect for the jobs I had in mind when I purchased this tool. It is fairly well balanced and drove a wood bit through 8 inches of wood with no problem. The hammer drill function works very well drilling through brick facing on my house. For this type of homeowner project the drill is perfect.

I bought this with paint and sheet rock mud mixing in mind, well it does all that like it is childs play. It is one powerful drill, and did you see the price, you get this much power for that low price, bounce it against the other drills this size, you will not be disappointed.
