I have bought 3 or these, all for folks who have two left thumbs, just bought houses, and who I know do not own any tools and I know need just the basics. Everyone should have a toolkit around, even an inexpensive one, because you never know when a nice, friendly neighbor will come over and offer to fix stuff for you...you just need the tools <vbg>! ;-)

I have had one for 4 years and I go into this toolbox at least twice a week, even if it is just for the tape measure.

All of the tools feel durable and seems to be made of good quality (but don't quote me on that because this is my first set of tools). I've been told by my uncles that Stanley makes pretty good tools for an affordable price so I went with this tool kit. I have no problem with the snap-on hardcover case. It closes very easily and stores well. I also don't have a problem with the tools falling out once they're in the case. You'll actually hear a "snap" sound once the tools are placed correctly in their slots, so that nothing will fall out when you close the case. I'm pretty satisfied with this tool kit since it has basically everything I need for around the house.

Stanley is definitely a descent brand and this tool set is pretty enough for everything i need. The only thing I want to complain a little is you need t a screw driver to open this tool set. (If I had a screw driver, I may not need to buy a tool set!) Other than that, that's all fine!

If you're just a normal person who uses a telephone to call a repairman more often than a tool set, this one is perfect. It has everything, and it feels solid and will hold up perfectly well under easy use. The master handyman had better upgrade a bit. Closing the top without pieces falling out is an art that can be mastered.

I bought this set for my son for Christmas. We laughed because you need a screwdriver to open the case. Of course there's one 'inside'. I was so tired of everyone walking away with all the general household tools that I immediately ordered another of this set for myself and I keep it in my closet. If someone needs to use it they have to check it out and in so I know exactly where 'my tools' are and who's using them. It has everything you would need for a general household set.

I bought this as a Christmas present for my father to put in his vehicle for emergency use. My father owns hundreds of tools, and I have seen the Stanley brand here and there around the house. So when I found this, I knew it would make a great Christmas gift. It includes a tape measure, a hammer, a screwdriver, and leveler, a box cutter, and many more tools to use,

It comes with a plastic carrying case which would look like it would wear down after so many uses. It's currently tight to take out and place tools back in so we will have to see how long it would last. Overall, it has many of the necessary tools that you would need, especially the different types of bits for the Drive Bit holder. The tools look extremely well made and look like tools that will last a long time since steel is usually a good material to use..

I am glad I made this purchase and would consider buying my own tool kit of the exact kind. I have read the older reviews stating how it had a screw in the actual case to prevent it from being opened. The company has read the reviews because the product I received had a small zip tie instead of the screw. If anything faulty happens down the line, I will update my review. Have a nice day and a Merry Christmas.

This tool set is very durable and extremely practical for most common household repairs and maintenance tasks. Short of building a house itself, everything in this kit is ideal for fixer-upper projects as well as minor installations. I'd definitely recommend this product.

The Stanley 65-piece General Homeowner's Tool Set is a solid buy. The pieces are well constructed and is far from some of the flimsy tools for the same money.

The price here is also very good. I'm not sure you'll find it cheaper anywhere else, and if you do, not by more than a few dollars. But if you shop around you'll also see it for much higher.

If you need a good all-round tool set this is one to get.

I got this tool set for my fiancé's birthday, and as soon as he saw it, he was extremely happy! Some tools did fall out of their places during the shipping process, which made me think the shippers really tossed this thing around because when we put the tools back, you could tell that they were very secure in their places. He loved the quality of the tools and that they were oiled up and ready for whenever he needed to use them. He was really excited that it came with the ratchet driver, which was something I specifically looked for because he originally wanted just a ratchet driver by itself for his birthday. This has everything he needs and wants, and he couldn't stop thanking me for it. He even showed it off to his brother, whom he just got tools for for his birthday. Haha!

I'm very happy with this purchase I made, and I know my fiancé is, too! I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a good quality tool set in a good quality case that will last!

After all, my wife and I have gone through close to a dozen hand-held pruning saws during the 20+ years we've lived on our property. Those pruning saws always cut well when new but seem to get dull very quickly. With their close set, needle-like teeth they're also difficult to sharpen - and I've sharpened regular saws using saw sets and files. Eac...
