I almost wish I hadn't bought this (really, not really). I now have a nightly ritual of going into my back yard to hunt scorpions, and I come in with my skin crawling. I live in Las Vegas and we have some of the nastiest (aka dangerous) scorpions in the country. I was shocked at how they light right up. There is no overlooking the scorpions when the black light is on (they are completely camouflaged with regular lighting). Check out some of the pictures I took. One is with the camera flash, the other is no flash under the black light. No photo shop - this is exactly what the buggers look like under the black light.

Oh and bonus, I found out one of the dogs lifted his leg on my recliner. Thanks a lot, Oscar, you jerk.

P.S. I tried the glasses that came with the light and they don't really make a difference. You don't need them at all. I don't even know where they are now. I bet Oscar took them. Jerk.

A male stray cat was coming into my home through the cat door while I was at work. I would walk into the house and smell pee but not be able to find it. I bought a Stink Finder, which is a fluorescent UV light, and it worked well, but it requires you to get down close to the floor. This flashlight is great. It is bright, finds the stains, and I can stand upright and shine the flashlight all over the room in seconds.

All I have to say is WOW! Works amazingly. Def grossed me out that my carpets were as dirty as they were!!! But I was finally able to see where in the living room my dog kept peeing and I was able to get the mess cleaned up. I'm addicted. Walking around the house with the lights off like a CSI agent.

So I am in love with this uv flashlight but my emotions are down to see how I thought I had clean my house but I wasnt really CLEAN!! So I started my journey to the kitchen since had finish dinner and wanted to see if it picked up the dirty area and it did, I wasnt suprice since I know it was dirty because we cooked. Then turn over to my counter that looked clean ( as you can see from the pics) and bam! Turn on the uv light, and I see stains, I was like wow didn't even see that coming! I keep turning around into the wall next to my sink just to see the horrorific view of that stain wall from where you dont notice your greasy hnd touch it and am just freaking out on how dirty that kitchen is starting to look (im a clean freak) At this point am sold, I head to the bathroom and I leave out comments on that!...Lasty I wanted to test it on my couch since is leather and Im always sit there to watch tv and yea to my surprise the horror of stains. It was like to going through a Haunted House (with the effect of the purple light!) To see how many stains are hidden and never in my life would of seen if it wasn't for this uv flashlight so I give it a 5 stars (10 if I could ) and now im done with this review and will go clean because I can't handle this ! (Joke Alert! But, yes I will clean!)

I have another UV flashlight, but this one is so much superior in every way. It works so well that the pet stains - that you cannot see with the naked eye - just stand out. Beware that it might shock you how much this light reveals. Another impressive thing is that the kit includes high quality batteries and tinted glasses to help sharpen the image of the stains. The build quality of the flashlight is high, it feels strong and durable. If you have a dog or cat, buy this and stay clean!

As a dog owner, I have tried several black lights over the years to check my carpets for "accident" sites. I started out with an electric fluorescent type, which was inconvenient due to having to constantly unplug/replug as I moved throughout the house. Then when the tubes needed replacing, I couldn't find the right ones. Then I got a smaller, battery-operated fluorescent black light at the local pet supply store. It fell apart within a few months (poorly made switch, I think). When I saw this compact LED flashlight, I didn't have very high expectations but decided to give it a try. Happily, I have been completely satisfied with this little flashlight. It works like a charm, no cords to bother with, no irritating fluorescent tubes. It came with quality batteries (Duracell, my first choice), and is very easy and quick to use. It IS necessary that you wait to do your inspections after dark, though. This is true with ANY UV light. I would buy this again (but hopefully won't need to!) and would recommend it to pet owners. I have a wonderful TaoTronics adjustable desk lamp that I also love! TaoTronics seems very interested in customer feedback and are rightfully proud of their products.

This is more powerful than I expected for the price. Just be careful: there are things you can't un-see! But I have realized that some of what it shows may be more innocent.

I bought this for a strange reason. Some glass made in the 40's and 50's used Uranium, and it will glow green under this light. I've heard of people finding sea glass like this. I've been collecting sea glass, and hoped I had some of this. This light settled that: I don't. :(

Let me start this review by saying that I purchased this product and this wasn't given to me free. I honestly feel in love with the strong material this product has, it's strong and durable. The light is more than enough, it shines a wider area than I expected. I love that it comes with batteries and glasses! The glasses is so high quality! I couldn't find such on Amazon. I can't figure out why there are some negative reviews for this product? It's as advertised and works more than great, I am glad I bought it! Last but not least, this company is excellent, I love how they follow up on your purchase, they actually care, and I will be buying more of their products without hesitation! Everything arrived just as advertised; fresh batteries, the glasses, and this durable looking very bright UV light. Since so many people have reviewed this item, I won't repeat much of what was already said. I just want to emphasize that my main purpose for buying it was to see if it could be used to spot automotive "leak dyes" such as used to find leaks in AC systems or for spotting oil leaks.

I want to assure you that it clearly showed the AC leak in my 2003 truck that had dye added to the system years ago when it was serviced once before. It showed a seeping hose, and pinpointed an easy repair for me. Very pleased with it!
