Numerous complaints about this filter not fitting the various units listed. IT DOES FIT, this is NOT parts that you fit into the original plastic filter frame. This replaces that original filter, you do NOT use the original filter frame. That is why the HEPA filter is larger in both directions. Instructions are non-existent, which leads to the confusion. Just remove the whole original filter pack and frame. Set aside. Put the white HEPA filter in the unit first, then put the Carbon filter on top (you will see it fits into the raised edges of the white HEPA filter). The 4 part original filter pack is not used at all. If you want replacement parts for the original filter pack in plastic frame, you have to purchase that altogether as one part number (also sold on Amazon).

I bought this unit last July mostly because I still smoke. It is in my room. I only smoke maybe one in there a day and it takes a little while but it cleans it all up. I also have a dog and dog hair issues. This seems to have cut down some of the dust from this too. The air quality sensor is so sensitive it will kick the fan up for a fart.

We have a Winix Plasmawave 5300 that I got last year after I found out that our son is severely allergic to all kinds of grass. My unit just turned on the replace filter light and we have had the unit almost a full year. I do take the unit apart periodically and vacuum the filter which I think prolongs the life. The air quality in my home is greatly improved!

I read reviews that this filter does not fit the 5500. From the info I could find by doing research on the internet, the 5500 uses Size 21 Filter. The SKU# for the Size 21 filter on the Winix website is: 115115 - which is the same SKU# listed on amazon. When I received my order, the box containing the filter lists a few model numbers that this filter fits and the 5500 is not listed. BUT, it does say it fits all units that use Size 21.

I fault both amazon and Winix for not having clear info on this but it explains why amazon has this filter paired with the 5500 on their website.

There are dozens and dozens of items for sale on amazon that do not have sufficient and/or accurate info. I would say 75% of the bad reviews that people write are usually a result of the consumer having absolutely no clue what they are talking about. People really need to quit being so lazy and do a little research before you fire off a bad review. If something is not clear on the amazon website, do some research!

I bought this for a 9500 Ultimate (The one with the plastic filter assembly). 1. Yes this will fit your 9500. 2. You will not be using the original plastic assembly.
This filter is made to fit directly into the cleaner. The charcoal filter laid right over the top and I snapped the front back on. This means you give up having a washable carbon filter and pre-filter. The replaceable carbon filter (4 in the package) really combines the two items into one. Considering the high cost of the plastic assembly unit this is just as good for me.

buy WINIX TRUE H.E.P.A. only! I was mislead by CRUCIAL AIR, they said they carried WINIX "COMPRABLE" filters but they don't actually say TRUE HEPA...THIS IS MISLEADING. please contact CRUCIAL AIR and tell them to stop using the word "Comparable". I WILL ONLY BUY GENUINE WINIX TRUE HEPA!

We have the WAC9500 Pet model, so I felt like I was taking a bit of a gamble given the reviews on how the filters would fit into this model. Rest assured they fit snuggly (you have to lose the old cartridge and put the new HEPA and carbon filters directly into the unit), and they work just as well as the $100 Winex replacement filter cartridge I've previously purchased. After a couple of weeks of use, I can say I can't tell a difference between the two! No funny smells like a few reviews said, maybe just a plastic smell for the first hour after installation but hardly noticeable. We've had this Winex device in our main living area for over 3 years now, in our 600 sqft apartment and now in our 2500 sqft house, and it does wonders for my husband's pet allergies and both of our seasonal troubles. I will update this review if any issues come about, but otherwise I will definitely buy these filters again.

I've been using Winix 6300 air purifiers in two rooms for the past couple of years due to seasonal allergies. The filters due a great job reducing my symptoms as well as trapping cat hair and litter dust. The charcoal pre-filters due a good job extending the life of the HEPA filter. The charcoal filter is replaced every 3 months (4 ea) and the HEPA every 12 months. I realize that they are pricey but worth it in my opinion.

After 3 months of service i finally took the cover off my air machine the 5300. Found this pre filter was in dyer need of being changed. These filters work really well and this photo attachted it proof.
3 months and this was black.

1 year update i just replaced my filter and their was a ton of garbage caught by the filter very impressed. Keeps my allergys under control

We have the 9500 and used the work arounds that people are posting with NO issues. It's a great alternative to buying the more expensive 119110 cartridge. Thanks everyone for posting instructions--very helpful! I found these instructions in the Q&As "The 115115 HEPA replacement filter will fit the WAC9500 unit if you first remove the complete original filter cartridge that came with the 9500. Insert the 115115 filter into the unit fist (where the cartridge used to be) and then insert one of the black carbon filters so that the black carbon filter is facing the front of the unit and is on top. You should replace the black carbon filter once every three months which is why you get four of them when you purchase a 115115 filter." If you prefer the plastic cartridge filter, then order this model: 119110.
