Bought 9 sets to replace the spouts on new cans. You can blame this on gov't overreach. Ironic on how stupid laws can ruin a great product and prevent mfg's from meeting customer needs. Purchased 16 new Midwest diesel cans, threw EVERY "no spill" spout into the recycle bin and replaced them with these. Zero complaints, except for the additional cost which isn't the mfg's fault. If you are searching for the perfect can/spout/cap combo, it doesn't exist thanks to politicians who think they know what is best. The only way to solve this is to buy everything separately and assemble it yourself at additional cost because the law prevents them from selling these together. Those "no spill" spouts leak, take FOREVER to empty and are a lesson in futility.

Like everyone else, I have those Midwest 5 gallon gas can from Rural King I think. I bought 4 of them to fill up my mower and quads on our property. The safety spouts are worthless on them, the first time I filled my 4 tanks up 2 of the "O-rings" on the spout ripped. The other 2 quickly followed on the next fill up or 2.
I bought these since I no longer use the spouts, I use a tractor funnel and just pour directly from the jug. These caps fit very well and have a nice fat gasket.
$4 each is a bit steep but now I don't have to worry about any spills when transporting them. I'd like to find a short spout for when I fill just to stop the splashing from the tank "glugging" when I fill but have yet to find one that's not "safety" and around 6".

Heavy duty cap with thick gasket that doesn't leak. Octagonal grip makes tightening and loosening a breeze. Fits my new style Midwest Can 5 gal jug great. Much better than leaving poor auto sealing spout on for storage, that can easily snap off,

When I refill my gas cans, I prefer to use a solid cap rather than the modern safety spouts. These coarse thread yellow gas can caps do fit the widely-available Blitz gas cans. In my case, when the lids were fully tight, there was still a little seepage. I contacted EZ-Pour and they're sending me a couple of extra gaskets which should solve the problem. Note that if you need more information or are confused as to which cap to buy, the EZ-Pour website has very good descriptions of all of their products.

I was surprised when I put these on my kerosene cans. They felt solid and snugged down nicely. They also seal very well. Usually I smell kerosene when I drive home after filling up my cans no matter how careful I am. These cut way back on the smell because they actually seal the can. Since I'm using a siphon to fill my heater, these allow me to toss the useless leaky tree-huger spouts that came with the overpriced plastic cans that I bought. Now the CARB complaint plastic is sitting in a land fill for future archaeologists to uncover. I'm certainly not going to let it clutter up my tool shed.
At almost four bucks a cap (x2) the price is steep, but I've been unable to find anything less expensive that's half as good. These fit my Midwest and Scepter cans perfectly. I just bought two more caps tonight. One for another Midwest can and one for reserve.

I don't know what's up with those 'safety spouts' but they must have been a collaboration between Hitler and Judas to ensure I would spill the most amount of gas possible all over the place, while I'm refueling my snowblower at 4am with 2 ft in my driveway just trying to get my kids to school and wife and I to work on time. Do you like gasoline all over your driveway and equipment? No? Neither do I. That's why I live like a responsible adult with big boy gas can caps. I know it's amazing but after 16 years of public school education and a decade+ in the workforce I have discovered I'm able to fill a gas engine using a funnel without some piece of garbage, spring loaded, always stuck, 'safety locked' spout that leaks fuel all over me, my gear and my driveway. Without this cap my front yard looks like Valdez and Deepwater came over for a picnic and well one thing lead to another and I'm moments away from one of the Bush kids coming over and declaring they found Texas T. Safety spouts are literally the manifestation of big brother having an illegitimate child with the Illuminati behind the back of NSA and NSA finding out several years later and resenting the child but knowing its too late to turn back so just going with it until this gas cap came along and changed everything. It's a whole new world now!
So anyway, I put these caps on my gas cans and all was well in the world.

I purchased these to use with new Midwest 5600 5-gallon gas cans. Today's EPA rated gas cans are stupid beyond belief... at least these caps allow you to completely seal up the cans while in transit or storage. I also recommend the Ez-Pour replacement spout kit to avoid frustrating spills and needing multiple hands to simply pour gas from a can into a mower or generator.

Great quality cap. The threads on these are designed to fit newer coarse EPA Acme-style threaded plastic fuel cans, although several reviewers have posted that they have managed to cram this cap on the older finer threaded cans (don't do this). If you want a cap for a newer can, get this cap. If you have an older can, get the black replacement caps instead which have the old finer thread.
(Note that the size of the can, 1 gal, 5 gal, etc., has no bearing on spout size; they're all the same.)

glad I found these. Check the brand of the gas can you are buying the replacement cap for since the threading isn't standard on gas cans. the description was accurate as far as fitting certain manufacturers. Buying the caps is a lot cheaper than buying the cans.
