I don't know why anyone would pay more for something like this? They work great and the quality is very good as far as I can tell?? Used these to put together a lower for a rifle and to mount some sights on a pistol. g-

I used the smallest roll pin punch (1/16) from this set to remove the roll pin on my AR15 charging handle in order to replace the latch. I held the punch real carefully and hammered it cautiously so that I wouldn't bend it. A piece of tool like this with such a thin neck, you just need to be more careful not to bend or break it. It is not a nail and you just don't hammer it with full force! Any tool you abuse it will surely get damaged. I'm happy with this set as it is only $12 and did the work I expect.

How much can you really say about a punch set? These things worked just fine, I used them to work on my AR15 to put it in perspective for any potential buyers looking to do the same.

I started building my AR15 with a set of brass punches, but when putting the small pins in my brass punches broke off. These punches are much more durable and solid. The tips prevent damage to the rifle and they won't break when installing those hard to fit pins. Since punches are necessary for building the rifles, I highly recommend this set. They come with a nice pouch to keep them all organized in.

I've been building a new rifle as well as having maintained and upgraded AR rifles for a while and typically used standard punches for removing and replacing roll pins with no trouble at all until not long ago I had a stubborn sight tower roll pin that wouldn't come out so I invested in this set, immediately upon removing these from the packaging it's very obvious the difference between these roll pin punches and standard flat face punches. The first thing you'll notice is the tip is rounded for better fit on the end of a hollow roll pin so these are designed very well and it took three taps on the pins that wouldn't come out before no matter how many times I hammered on it and how hard, but I used the proper sized roll pin punch and my soft head mallet and three taps and the roll pin that wouldn't come out before drifted straight out and I was done so don't risk damage to your firearm by using the wrong tool because even though the wrong tool works most of the time there will be one that will not come put until you have the proper tool for the job. This set is nicely made, easy to grip and you have plenty of punches to make sure you have the right size instead of one that's too small and the next up size is too big but with these you should have the right size for the right pin and there's even a nice slotted pouch that each punch fits perfectly in so even though the price is cheap, the quality of the tools and the pouch are very well made

People saying these don't work are just wrong, or received a different item than I did.
I removed some very stubborn roll pins on my M&P pistol, so stubborn a thin layer of steel was shaved off the pin. Zero issues with the smaller sized punches, I cant speak for the larger ones as I did not used them, but if anything the bigger punches are thicker so shouldn't have any issue. I only used 1/16, 5/64, and 3/32 the smallest three, no bends, chips or issue with the punches. Make sure you use a very light weight hammer for the small punches or you will get bends on any punch set. I used a 4 OZ ball peen hammer small, rapid, light taps. If you use a standard sized hammer with the small pins dont complain when you bend them.
I nearly did not buy this due to all the bad reviews, now I can confidently say that if you know how to actually use roll pins you wont have any issues. I just wouldnt buy them for long term, prolonged use, but for a few projects now and then no issue.
The center ball is slightly off center on some punches, it caused no issue what so ever. Would recommend.

Breaking?? I see that many people have broken the smaller tools. Just what they say they are. I don't know about the others but I would be concerned as to how people are using these. I have not had a problem with using these and I gave them a beating.
The smaller ones are fine for working on pistols and rifles and such. I have used these to build and repair several AR platform weapons over the last year and have had no bad experience.
I WILL SAY THIS. IF YOU ARE USING THESE FOR A WEAPON. LOOK ONLINE AND YOU WILL FIND OTHER TOOLS AND OTHER TECHNIQUES FOR INSTALLING ROLL PINS IN YOUR AR PLATFORM.

I finally had to break down and pick up a set of roll pin punches in order to build an AR.
Punches worked as they should.
Good metal, nice knurling. Good, strong heads.
No wear after using several times.
Pins come in a nice nylon/canvas roll up sleeve. Not really terribly sure what it's made of. Seems durable though.
Only detractor is the way the sleeve is secured. It's just a simple tie string of the same material. I'd feel much better if it was a button or something. So roll it up tight and tie it tight so they don't fall out.

I have built 6 ar style guns since getting this roll pin set.
Roll pin punches should never be used on anything but a ROLL PINS. The ball at the end of the punch centers the punch on the roll pin to HELP accurately drive the ROLL PIN in/out.
The roll punches WILL break/bend when you are using them to punch a flat pin/surface and/or you are not at the proper angle. Force used is relative to the size of punch used. YOU SHOULD NOT USE THE SAME AMOUNT OF FORCE FOR A 1/16" PUNCH AS YOU DO FOR A 1/4" PUNCH!!!
