After we moved, we lost all the anti-tip plastic hardware that came with our bedroom dressers. Looked around at the local hardware and furniture stores and couldn't believe that nobody carried it. They suggested just some bolts, but I really wasn't looking to drill huge holes into the expensive furniture... Sure enough a few months later my 3 year old daughter started climbing on our dresser and pulled it over onto her, fracturing her arm. After a little more 'frenzied' research finally found these on Amazon and they are amazing, they allow the dresser to move, and yet hold it securely within 6 inches from the wall. An adult can even hang from the dresser and it won't move.

I bought one of these anti-tip kits to secure a tall bookcase to the wall. I like the fact that you only need one cable to secure up to 400lbs of furniture, and that the flexibility in the cable means you don't have to be as precise in your installation as with, say, an angle bracket. It also allows you to move the furniture a tiny amount without disconnecting the cable. You can also position the wall bracket below the top of furniture to help hide it from view, and you can easily disconnect the cable if you need to move the furniture to a new location.
Three caveats: First, as one reviewer points out, the cable is only about 4 inches long; the picture is deceiving. So your furniture needs to be close to the wall. I think the reason for this is to limit how far the furniture can tip before the cable catches it. Second, the bracket that attaches to the furniture needs to attach to either solid wood or thick particle board; I'd suggest at least 1" thick minimum. And if attaching to particle board, you have to attach to the wide, flat side, not the narrower "edge" of the board. The instructions are very specific about that. Third, the wall bracket needs to mount directly to a stud. You could use strong toggle bolts as one reviewer mentions, but that will limit your protection to the strength of the toggle bolts. Please don't use hollow wall anchors - they aren't strong enough.

The kits are a bit pricey, but the parts are high quality and it was easy to install. I have a couple more pieces of furniture that I need to anchor and am going to order more of these kits. Definitely recommend them.

we transitioned my toddler to her big girl bed finally and in doing so we wanted better straps on her furniture since she would be able to get up and move about the room without supervision at night. The regular straps we couldn't get tight enough that the dressers wouldn't flip forward and all the drawers come flying out. these allow for hardly any tilt room so I don't have to worry about a flying drawer knocking my daughter in the head

I would recommend this product to any parent with small children. It is easy to install and can be disconnected quickly when moving furniture. The product is sturdy and gives you the peace of mind that it will work as expected.

A bit pricey, but very secure kit to attach furniture to wall. I recently moved a tall curio cabinet with glass shelves to a new location, and was nervous about its stability on the carpeted surface, particularly since I have a cat who loves to visit the tops of furniture. Using this kit to attach the furniture to studs in the wall gives me piece of mind that the cabinet isn't going anywhere. This kit is better than the ones with the zip strip type of anti-tip kit. one note: this kit only contains one unit. if you want to secure both ends of your piece of furniture, you will need more than one kit.

We have these straps on all the dressers in our house and they've been installed for about a year or so, right after my son transferred to a toddler bed. This week I unfortunately got to test it out in action. I was getting dressed and asked my son to go in his room to get something. A few seconds later I heard a loud thud - I ran in and saw him sitting inside his top drawer! He had opened all the drawers and climbed up them like stairs. The dresser must have shifted forward and then back when he pulled the weight forward. Gave me a huge scare, but I'm so thankful we anchored the furniture in his room to the walls and that these straps really work!

We purchased two of these to secure a full length, stand-up mirror to a bedroom wall to prevent it from being tipped over by our 1 year old. The instructions that come with the kit are very straightforward, making installation very easy. The quick release pins make it very simple to attach/detach, and it is evident that the materials are of high quality. I even tested the strength of the hardware by trying my hardest to knock the mirror over....it wasn't going anywhere. Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase.

This is a well-made product. My application is a tall and narrow glass curio cabinet that could easily be tipped a lateral force were to be applied. The cable is easily attached and disconnected from the brackets supplied to secure it to the wall and to the piece of furniture. This is done simply by pulling the spring key and then removing the pins that attache the cable end loops to the brackets. Once one has the furniture repositioned, reattaching to the flexible cables is just as easily accomplished. In both cases, the brackets used to secure the top or back of the furniture piece and to the wall have two mounting screws which appear to be adequate to the task. It is important that the wall bracket be screwed to a stud, so locating it with a stud finder or by some other method is essential. A hollow wall (drywall) anchor would not be sufficient to secure the device to the wall given the torque that might be created if the furniture piece would become unstable. Likewise, it's important to anchor the other bracket to the furniture one is attempting to stabilize by attaching it to a strong component, not the flimsy plywood backing that is used on some furnishings. "Common sense" should always be observed, though it's been my observation that 'good sense it's so very "common" after all.' Just exercise abundant caution when considering the locations with which to attach both ends of this device.

This is the best anchor I've seen thus far. I have used it for the past year and after moving am going to order several more to secure the rest of my furniture. Screw one end into a stud and the other into the furniture, hook up the pins, and it's done. Because of the pins, it's very easy to remove and reinstall elsewhere.
