This toolset cuts to the core of what it takes to open electronics of the modern era. A suction cup for screens, plastic opening tools for micro case seams, and 26 different screw bits for the myriad screw heads used in modern electronics. A great toolset in its own right, it works great if you have a whole slew of home electronic repairs to do, or if you only have one repair in mind and want a set that lasts. Except, of course, the blue plastic opening tools which are made from a soft plastic to prevent scratches on plastic enclosures and do wear out.

I used this kit to replace the keyboard on my 13" early 2011 Macbook Pro. It worked perfectly! I have a ton of tools, probably 10x more than the average person, but I couldn't have done the repair with the tools I had on hand because the screws are so TINY, and they are weird. You can really take out a triwing screw or a torque screw with a regular or philips screwdriver without stripping it (I'm told), so you almost have to buy something like this to get everything that you need. The other things that were indispensable were the plastic spudger and opening tools. There's no way I could have done a repair like that, which involved taking apart every single part of my laptop, and not damaged anything without this! Definitely recommend!

This is a pretty comprehensive set of tools to get you off the ground and running for repair of small to moderate sized electronics. Other than a hair dryer or heat gun to help loosen surfaces adhered together most everything you need fits into the included zippered bag, and can be carried in a moderately sized pocket. The grounding strap is pro grade, nothing is cheap or flimsy, and the way the driver case opens is so cool you'll probably do it at least half a dozen times just to watch it work.
The only thing you might want to add is a better and larger suction cup if you'll be working with screens larger than a smartphone. And iFixit sells those too.

I bought this earlier this year for to replace the battery on a 2009 MBP. I already have quite a few tools, but the guide I read (at you know where) recommended this set of tools for the screws particular to this model. I also needed a new anti-static strap, and so after reviewing several different kits, I went with this one. It made doing the job much easier than it would have been with my collection of tools. Sometimes having the exact tool for the job is worth spending the money.
As for details, I appreciate the zippered pouch, because it allows you to keep all the tools in one place. I can't stand having tools scattered all through the drawer, so points for that. No problems with the driver, either, and the anti-static strap worked without a hitch. The plastic spike came in handy for prying something without conducting electricity. And lastly, the way that the bit/screw set opens is cool. Hats off to iFixit for a great tool set that's well constructed and attuned to the job.

I purchased this specifically to get a tool that I could use to pry an old Kindle apart and replace the battery (purchased a new one on eBay) using an iFixit guide on YouTube. The small screwdriver set was also used. It worked amazingly well. I was able to fix what had looked to be yet another piece of electronics to toss in the landfills and give it to my Uncle who was delighted.

Extremely useful selection of driver bits for repair of computers, laptops, phones, and other electronics. The tools themselves are of good quality and the packaging is quite slick. A good value for the dollar.

Box had the tools that were shown.
Unfortunately, I broke the tip of the black pointy one but was impressed that it was replaced when I contacted the vendor.
Overall, I would recommend this toolkit as I've been the tools on several tablets now.

Decent quality, I largely just use the screwdriver set. My life has improved so much after buying this, and that's not a joke. I'm the sort of person who likes to take everything apart, and now I can.

It has all the tools your would need for basic repairs. Compare this to the cost of bringing your PC to Geek squad or any other computer repair place and you'll make back all that money on a single repair. Thanks ifixit, your kit rocks!

This is a great toolkit. I bought it for travel, but it has so many useful bits that it has pretty much replaced my home set as well. The only downside is that the bits can be hard to get out of the case, good thing iFixit provided a tweezer to help with that task!

Has every tool you need to fix a computer/laptop easily. So far I've used it to dismantle a HP Laptop completely and a desktop. Would be nice if it came with a magnetic parts tray of some sorts to make this the best bundle ever but oh wells. Overall its a nice set of tools to have, in a very nice bag. The only minor issue is that the tweezers sometimes gets in the way of closing the Driver kit.
Also if you want to save 5$ you could buy it off their website but I'm not sure how much they would charge for shipping etc.
