It's counterintuitive, but the long bit is actually the easiest to use and most stable when driving pocket screws. The Kreg bits are very well made, hardened, and don't wear as fast as ordinary square drive bits. That's particularly important when doing pocket hole construction - there's nothing more frustrating than a stripped bit or screw head halfway in a pocket hole. In fact, I keep my Kreg bits separate and only use them for pocket holes. I use my regular bit set square drive bits for other square drive uses and toss them as they wear.

I have found that all Kreg products work. I bought the drivers for backups. Have not needed to replace originals in 3 years.

Probably 2 of the handiest bits Ive ever owned mind you, but they really are just bits. Ive driven over 300 screws with the 6" and its as good as new.

Both the 3" and the 6" bits have exceptional grip on square drive screws. I have used the cheap chinese bits and there is no comparison on performance. It's suprising that there is much of a difference, (after all square should be square right???) but there really is a difference.

Having both lengths is great, long for pocket screws, short for close quarters. You can't beat these for the price, and they're magnetized! I would say I would buy them again, but they've already lasted me 10x longer then any other bits I have owned so I may not need to!

Having started out with the super-duper everything kit from Kreg, I didn't need these, but being a little OCD, and having a bad habit of misplacing needed items mid project, they seemed like a real good idea. Of course, when you have a spare in your box, you don't lose the original until the spare has gone missing too, right ?

Great bit set at a great price. The long bit is perfect for pocket hole screws to get the correct angle. The small one doesn't work very well in my opinion for pocket holes but still a great No 2 square drive bit.

For the price these are a pretty good buy. You can easily spend much more elsewhere. Ironically, when using the Kreg system, the longer bit is much easier to work with than the short one. WHY? Because the angles you are working with, the long one clears the wood you are working on where the short one never allows you to get unimpeded access to the screw. These are nice, very sharp edges, well made.

The key to having this work well is using new screws and a driver with a nice sharp bit. No rounded over or wallered out screws, only sharp and crisp holes. I think its a good idea to keep a spare handy so you can change it out every so often. For the low price that you can buy these for, it only makes sense and will make your project much more professional, and the effort to get there much easier. Good luck, I hope this helps, thanks for reading.

I bought these to have on hand as spares for the #2 square drive bits that came with my K3 jig kit. They were reasonably priced and are identical to the original bits that I use all the time, so just wanted to have spare bits available when needed.

Even though they are made in Tiawan they seem well made. I prefer to buy all I can made in the USA, some things are hard to find made here. These will do the job at a reasonable price, happy with them.

After all, my wife and I have gone through close to a dozen hand-held pruning saws during the 20+ years we've lived on our property. Those pruning saws always cut well when new but seem to get dull very quickly. With their close set, needle-like teeth they're also difficult to sharpen - and I've sharpened regular saws using saw sets and files. Eac...
