The tool is awesome. I used the older 14.4 volt model for years and it was very good, but I was not even getting a full day out of the batteries anymore, and I needed a replacement. I will keep the older 14.4 for home use, it still works perfectly. This 18 volt unit is better in every way. I use the screw gun every day, sometimes all day, and the first charge lasted 6 days!!!. Then it just stopped, it did not get much slower it worked right up to the last moment and then clicked off. I put the other battery in and was off again. Awesome. The LED light now stays one after you release the trigger, it has great speed and torque, and the charger really does charge the battery in 15 or 20 minuets. For the money it is a no brainer, I have used Dewalt, Bosch, and Ryobi's (it was an emergency)and this is the best of the them by far, and less expensive as well. My only issues were with Amazon. They would not sell it at the price listed, and would not provide the free freight described. it took two weeks to get it, all excuses no help. By the tool, but maybe from someone else.

Good size - fits the hand well and the weight is balanced. Good drive power and battery life - with FAST charging. One unit to predrill holes and the other unit to drive home the screws. This is a great pair for those middling jobs around the house - bigger than a screw or two and smaller than a deck. (Although with the fast charging, a small deck could be doable). Comes in a handy carrying case about the size of a lunch box (a bit bigger).

Was about to go with the Ryobi set due to price. However, friends who are professionals in the field had told me to look at this set first. So glad I did. Barely a price difference, but for top line brand. Have used both these tools extensively already. They are sturdy, hold a charge for a long time, and recharge very quickly. Really glad I went with these. I'll have them for a long time.

I use this set professionally doing duct work repairs six days a week. Had em for over a year, no problems. Thousands of self tapping screws and countless sheet metal circle cuts later, still going strong. Dropped them both 15 ft out of an attic one day onto concrete. Thought they'd be toast but neither of them were damaged at all. Rain, mud, dust, etc. They've seen it all. Not sure how long the batteries last because I throw them back on the charger at the end of every work day but we put em through the ringer and they've never left us stuck. Excellent set.

This is a great drill & impact driver set. Makita consistently makes high quality drills. The added LED light just above the trigger is a handy addition when working in low-light conditions.

I purchased this to replace an aged and dead Craftsman set. I've ran 15lbs of screws and pilot holes with this combo with no issues. For materials like 2x4 and 3/4in ply, it's worked wonderfully.

The included batteries are a bit on the small side. On several projects, I've had to take a 30 minute break to recharge the batteries and do the old battery juggle with 1 battery while the other is charging. I'd highly recommend grabbing some 3.0AH batteries for these at a minimum.

The battery charger does charge surprisingly fast. I'm very impressed with these that I've now invested in the system and purchased several of the other tool.

Love this duo. Did a lot of researching and reviewing before choosing these. The number 1 reason was the LED light. When you touch and release the trigger (motor does not have to activate), the LED comes on and remains lit for 10-12 seconds. Don't know why LED drills were made any other way! Another one was the comment from users that an attached belt clip was a necessity during heavy work. Some drills have none.
Love the compact size and reduced weight.

Great product, awesome quality. the carry case is hokey but maybe it is a lunch bucket? Didn't buy it for the case. Awesome tools. I'm an HVAC pro and use these everyday for service work. Perfect size for 1/2 drill, impact gets into tight areas. Love it. Hardly ever have to load up more robust drills. 30 second LED light is very helpful!

Got these to do a deck project. Makita lives up to it's name in great quality and durability.
What is the quality of the product and packaging? Great quality product and packaging is good.
Does it achieve its purpose? I have been using it for about a month.. So far so good.
Is the product worth the price or offer a good value? YES! So far very impressed.
