I am impressed with the quality of these drill bits. Unlike other bits I have used, these have a double flute design and a heavy duty shank for stability. This makes drilling holes with this design bit more precise with smoother cutting.

Note that the largest step bit size in this collection is 3/4" - but don't let that stop you from adding this cheap and effective set to your toolbox. I bought an expensive silver and deming bit set for enlarging holes, which still have their uses at times, but this set is far more effective when going through sheet metal or even plate (I drilled holes in 3/16" and 1/4" mild steel with these bits). They are effective cutters and very efficient. The long / multiple step bit is my most frequently used one as it goes from 1/8" to 1/2", stepping up at a reasonable speed. I'd still drill a pilot hole if going into thicker material though.
Highly recommended!

I have found this titanium step drill set to be very useful when making holes in automotive applications. I have successfully been able to drill into everything from plastic to sheet metal with no issues. Recently, I used one of these bits to drill a hole into my dash board by my steering wheel in order to mount a SDST switch for a set of LEDs I was going to be mounting on my vehicle.
A great titanium step drill set for the money

Works well, great price, extremely convenient tool to have around. I used it to install a BBQ thermometer into the lid of my Weber charcoal grill. Perfect hole and no chipping of the paint. A+

I needed a tool to make clean cut holes in 5 gallon, thick plastic buckets (like old 5 gallon paint or joint compound buckets). I tried EVERYTHING and everything seemed to leave sharp plastic pieces hanging off the inside of the bucket and that's no good. I needed clean holes. I had to cut about 60 holes in each bucket and this tool flew right threw the plastic making a totally clean, perfectly round hole. Now I did use a small straight bit to make starter holes but I also tried pushing this bit straight through on its own. It made it through the plastic just fine on its own but it went faster with the pilot holes. This is a perfect solution to cutting clean holes in plastic. I haven't tried it on anything else yet.

I needed to drill 1/2-inch holes in 0.025" aluminum sheet metal. I did not think it would be a problem, but when I went to use a regular twist-drill bit, the results were totally unsatisfactory. You get a "Reuleaux triangle" instead of a circular hole, and this apparently happens when you try to drill large holes. I tried drilling slowly, with low pressure, but it was to no avail.
I heard these step drill bits would work, and, boy, they did, like a charm. This is now my go-to solution for drilling large holes in sheet metal. Be sure to use a low drill speed. These bits also works to deburr holes of any kind. Sometimes I just take the bit and deburr by hand.
Great tools, well worth the money.

I used carbon drill bits to try to make holes in metal. It took me 45 minutes to make a small one. Saw this kind in Home depot but too expensive. Bought these ones in Amazon. Was doubtful when saw the cheap prize but got them anyway. My best buy ever in terms of tools. This drill bits are wonderful. Cut precise and really fast. Very durable and adjust well to my small Black and Decker drill. Made my first hole in less than a minute.
They are good to drill and do not wooble when rotating. Only thing when using it if you want to make a bigger hole, sometimes you do not feel different sizes going thru. I had to stop and look which size of hole I was in. Also, when checking hole size, to retake the drilling, need to push really hard down or drill will fly off your hand. When taking out of the hole, make sure is still rotating or same thing will happen.
Highly recommend this product. GREAT price and works beautifully.
After a while bits might feel a bit dull so making holes might take a few more seconds. But I would buy them again in a bit.

Can't beat the deal 3 bits for less than the price of one !! Nice and sharp no more fumbeling for drill bits. Keep in mind these are only for punching holes in thin items such as metal, plastic etc....

For the price can't go wrong for these bits. I abuse the hell out of them and they still work. I've used them up to 1/4" thick steel and they still bite well. They show a little rust but for the cost of a name brand bit I'll order several more of these and have several bits that will last me a long time.
I haven't tied using them on anything thicker than a 1/4" but for anything thinner these drill fine.

I read reviews that these aren't the greatest step bits which is probably true. But for the money you really cant beat a 3 pack when one Klein step bit can be $50 or more. I use it on thin metal and odd and end jobs around the house. They were worth the money for me!
