Oil/Water separator features a unique bronze filter which separates water from air at gun. This separator traps moisture that passes through conventional filters and eliminates water, oil and foreign particles from compressed air line. Attaches directly to spray gun or air tool. I bought this separator to use with a siphon-fed spray gun I purchased. As with any air connection I make I used gas sealant tape (similar to Teflon tape) when i connected this to my sprayer. I do not have any other filter on my compressor line as I do not do much painting with it. This oil and water separator worked flawlessly to trap the moisture coming through the hose which meant I ended up with a flawless paint job. I was also painting on a some what humid day which would leave even more moisture in my compressor tank. This product is inexpensive enough that you could purchase several to install on other tools instead of swapping it out, or you could just install it on the end of your hose. I would not hesitate to purchase again.

I bought this item and it arrived in only 3 days. Shipping was very fast! I painted the hood on my camaro and at the very end I ended up with water getting into the air line and ruining my work. I bought and installed this water/oil separator the second time around and I did not get any water in the paint. This water/oil separator works great! An absolute must if doing any type of painting. And the price is very reasonable.

The compressor filters work as advertised. I am in the process of painting my boat and needed to install filters to stop water and particles from entering my paint gun. I can see through the filters the amount of water and particles that this filter stopped. I did not have any issues with spray painting my boat. It would have been a disaster if I did not have these filters installed. They were the right price and are quality filters. I would recommend these filters to anyone needing to stop water and particles coming from their air compressor.

I've used several different water separators over the years. I don't do a large volume of painting so this filter works great for me. If you do a lot of air powered work/you will need a bigger/better filter...this one fills up over the course of a couple of hours on hot humid days and has to be emptied accordingly. A larger filter less often...the way you mount your filter really makes a difference. If you mount it laying down, gravity does not get a chance to pull the water out of the air as efficiently...Mount it point up with needle valve pointing down...it will work great.

I have owned other brands and this has surpassed my expectations. It is not uncommon for the plastic on these to crack but this one has held up very well and the construction seems to be superior. I run an oil compressor and this filters out the oil and water very well. It is easy to use and I would recommend it for the home mechanic or the diy. I would imagine that a larger filter is needed for a professional mechanic as this filter can fill up with some extended use. There was no air links when I hooked it up with teflon tape and two air hoses. If you drag your hose a lot I would recommend getting a rubber gasket big enough to fit around the end of the filter to prevent it from dragging on the floor. This can scratch up when dragged on the floor.

Worked like it should.
I'm no pro painter and don't need top quality air drying/filtering.
But I want my hobby stuff to turn out nice.
I installed this inline with my paint spray gun, it accumulated water droplets during use.
My compressor sits in the back of my shop, in an uninsulated cold area.
Inside the heated shop I was spraying car parts.
The change of temperatures seems to cause a lot of moisture to collect in the air line.
This did the trick.

Would buy it Again Many of the filters you cant see what's going on inside if there is water oil dirt This is Clear Important to see what's Happening as often as possible if You Know its up to You as what to Do but you know. it Has a Drain I Don't use this to just empty it also gives me the ability to see touch smell a lot of things look clear like water Doesn't mean it is' and if You catch it Here You Can stop it Forward or repair Back

this is my second one. both have worked as advertised. i had my first one installed backwards for a while. the inlet is the male threaded end. the outlet is the end with the silver cap and female threads. you want the drain at the bottom when installed.

I'm putting these on the ends off all my hoses just before a lubricator and the tool because I notice a lot of water spray when I disconnect a tool. It can't be good for the tool. My compressor is in the basement and I have a long hose after the oil and water filter near it. So much water can build up in that long hose.
