I received this lamp the day before a planned early morning run in the woods. I was hoping to be able to wear it around my waist for an additional waist light, and it works great for that. In fact, though not advertised, the strap is able to be attached and un-attached by pulling the end of the strap through a toothed groove. This groove links with teeth on the end of the strap to lock it in place, but with very little work it's easy to un-attach put it around your waist and re-attach. By the way, I have a 32 inch waist, and there was still a little room.

As a waist light, it worked awesome. I tried it alone, with my headlamp, and headlamp alone. At first I was running with both and thought that the Tikkina wasn't really offering much. So I turned it off, and all the roots and rocks blended back into the trail! I had read that by putting the light lower on your body it will throw a shadow on things like roots and stones, and it's true. I have a great headlamp (Led Lenser H7R), so had no intentions of replacing that, but this will be my waist lamp from now on, and it will be nice to have a backup headlamp if needed. It's a nice little light.

This light solved my hubbie's never ending disappointment at my reading with the 'stadium lights' on my bedside table. Now I can read with perfect spot illumination and not disturb his sleep. It just might have saved our marriage!

Excellent quality, very bright and great customer service. I have already owned this product and one broke. It fell in my 3 year guarantee and they replaced it for me (after I sent the other one back). The customer service was great, very quick to respond to my emails.

Have to admit I was tempted by the Black Diamond model a hiking friend showed me with multiple lights and multiple modes. But, at the end of the day, I need this primarily for working on tasks when there is insufficient light. So for wiring in a switch with the electricity off, crawling around the attic or other endeavors, I need a good, even, reliable light. And, I don't want to have to cycle through 8 clicks every time. This fits the bill perfectly. One click on, one click to change the brightness, one click off. Comfortable headband and adjustable angle. I could easily see hiking at night with this as well. Don't know if I'd run full speed on a trail with this at night or try to spot a bear at 50 yards with it, but neither of those scenarios come up often in my suburban home and life. Great little light.

I bought this item to wear running in the dark. For the price, this lamp has done everything I need. One button is super easy to use, even when wearing lightweight gloves. The best part is the lamp does not bounce while running.

I can recommend this light.
Prior to spending 2 full weeks I the grand canyon, I bought 3 headlamps to insure that I had a quality piece of equipment for my trip. I purchased a Black Diamond light that easily turned on in my bag repeatedly despite having a lock-out feature for the button. I also purchased a Princeton Tec but the battery door broke before my trip even started. My recommendation would be to buy a Petzl. My Petzl worked flawlessly through my trip and ever since.

Best for close to medium range. Even spread and fairly wide beam. If you want something with more punch keep in mind this is their cheapest model and it has 2 light levels, neither of which are impressive but still very useful. As a stage hand I didn't want something too bright and I don't want to blind people when I'm talking to them.

I use this headlamp when I run at night. I found that the lower setting is great for running at dusk while the higher setting isn't necessary until it gets really dark. The headlamp is lightweight and fits well over hats or headbands. I have worn it directly on my head as well and I haven't had major issues. It fits well on my big head but is adjustable enough that it should fit individuals with heads of any size.

The only thing that could improve this product would be if the strap was removable/washable. Because I use it for running I inevitably sweat on it and sometimes it feels like my attempts at hand washing the strap without washing the lamp seems to have its shortcomings.

Heck yeah! Love that first click on button is dimmer, second brighter. So when you turn it on at first, it's right where I want it most often. And no silly blinking functions or red. I took it on a camping trip where it got a couple weeks of action, and occasionally use it over past month and no battery problem. I have another similar Petzl that is a couple years old that I use and I don't think I've changed batteries yet.

You cannot go wrong with these Petzl- Tikkinas. Whether you go with the older 60 lumen or the new 80 lumen model, they work great for night time activities. Our family uses them for night hiking, fishing, camping, and for road side repairs. A set of batteries lasts us for a year. We have upgraded from all of our old Rayovac, Energizer, Prinetec, etc.. headlamps and now carry only Petzl headlamps.

After all, my wife and I have gone through close to a dozen hand-held pruning saws during the 20+ years we've lived on our property. Those pruning saws always cut well when new but seem to get dull very quickly. With their close set, needle-like teeth they're also difficult to sharpen - and I've sharpened regular saws using saw sets and files. Eac...
