My family goes camping and hiking a lot, as well as spending time outside just because. We have always been avid campers and had the equipment necessary. However, I now have a 5-year-old and 2-year-old. Some traditional camping equipment is not safe or small children. One of these things is the traditional propane lantern. We've been worried about the kids knocking one over, so this portable LED lantern is perfect or our family. The kids can carry it, I can put it on the blanket with them while they play a game, and we don't have to worry about it burning something or someone. It is sturdy, bright, watertight, and you can even adjust the brightness by moving the top up and down. One of my favorite things is that it takes AA batteries, which I always have on hand, instead of Cs or Ds, which I never have.

Super bright and well made lanterns! They more than met my expectations! They are bright enough yet small enough, to pack and use in our vintage trailer. So compact it fits in my beach bag, making them handy to pull out and use just about anywhere! I plan to buy more to share with other glampers on our next camping trip!

I bought these for use in power outages due to hurricanes. The lights are surprisingly very bright for such an inexpensive lantern. Some said they were smaller than expected, but honestly, I thought they were a little larger than I imagined. I'm also planning to use them on an upcoming camping trip for those after dark bathroom trips. My only complaint is that the intensity is controlled by simply having more of the lights exposed -- however, I'm pretty sure that the same battery power is being used regardless. I have a different, more expensive lantern, with different levels of brightness, and that lantern will run longer on the lower brightness setting. However, this is not significant enough for me to lower the rating on these lanterns, given the terrific price!

Bought these for cheap lighting in a power outage. I already have a few high-quality lanterns,so these were just meant to be some extras. Works well. Abit cheap but you should already know that from the price

This portable LED camping lantern is perfect for our home, I like hanging few LED lights / laterns on the trees in front of our house , this LED lantern works perfectly as it advertised! I have a round ball shaped solar LED light which it changes colors in dark ,it looks pretty but it does not last whole night. This portable LED light lasts whole night without any problem, it needs 3 AA batteries, and the light is super bright ! So I decided to use it at home in night for my son, so he does not have to wake up in dark when he needs go to bathroom during midnight . He really loves it! It even can be a wonderful reading lamp . Since it is portable, it is ideal for camping as well! The battery lasts long & decent time, I have not changed batteries yet since I got this lantern . This light weight LED lantern is also durable and waterproof, so it is able to use outdoor when it is raining .
Overall, this is a great portable LED camping lantern, the price of it is unbeatable, I am very pleased with my purchase, I would highly recommend it to others and family!

OMG!!! I AM NOW PREPARED FOR ANY OUTAGE!!! I love these lamps so much that I am gonna buy a 2nd set! They are incredibly bright and a hell-of-a-lot safer than candles in case of emergency! I just have to think back on the days before LED lanterns!!! In those days if there was a power outage, we were literally thrown back into the stone age! These lamps are also good for mood lighting @ a Halloween party.

Originally, we had ordered two of these lamps a while ago and kind of forgot about them. Then a storm blew through, our power went out, and we got to put them to use. I can't say enough about efficient and easy to use these lamps are. They're so easy to use that our one year old daughter was able to pull up on the handle and walk around with one. The light is very bright, and one lamp is enough to light up a large room. After we got the power back on, we promptly ordered 8 more lamps. Definitely keep a few around the house for a rainy day.

I got this lantern in case of emergencies, like a power outage. I live out in the country and when the power goes out everything is completely black because there are not a lot of houses by me. So having a few of these for when an event like that occurs gives me peace of mind. We had a power outage a few months a go and I wasn't prepared and only had my flashlight on my phone. So needless to say, this was something I started searching for right after that. It's really light weight and is very bright. We also go camping once in a while and this would come in handy for that too. Very pleased with this product and will likely buy a few more in the future.

I bought my first 3 pac of these lights and just ordered 2 more .These lanterns are just amazing . Very simple to operate. Just pull up the top and you have enough light to fill a room.For a test I turned out all the lights in my home to make it totally dark and scattered the 3 lights in the bedroom , living room and bath room...We had no problem moving around the house and even reading a book in bed . Takes 3 double A batteries which are also very easy to install. For camping or those time when you lose power they are perfect. This is a very good deal.

have to say, these things are awesome. I dont know if I can say enough good things about these little lanterns. I bought two 3-packs, since they were cheap.

To be honest I didnt have very high expectations after buying 6 lanterns at $4/pc but I was really impressed by the quality of these. I was a little concerned after seeing some of the DOA reviews but all 6 of mine worked flawlessly.

My other concern was the brightness, I read in the description that they were about 100 lumens (I have 5 LED, 750 lumen can lights in my kitchen that never seem to be bright enough) so i bought 6 to make sure we would have enough light to keep the kiddos safe and ward off any rogue sasquatches (sasquii?) which may have been lurking nearby. (And since I'm writing this, and definitely not a Yeti, I can say they are so far 100% effective in the prevention of spontaneous bigfoot attacks.) After using all 6 the first night while setting up camp, I think the most we ever had on at one time was 2, maybe three. Just one was definitely more than enough to light up our 8-man tent. The fact that you can open it part way to dim the light is a great feature as well, that way you can go to the bathroom in the middle of the night without going blind.

Ive also seen elsewhere where it states you can use rechargeable batteries in these, (although Eneloops to power these would cost more than the laterns themselves) that will be a future upgrade but I, myself have not done so with these yet.
