When I was in high school, all my friends had pocket knives, and they were so cool looking, but I could never afford anything near as good as what they had. I was always jealous because they had these awesome knives that cost them like $50 to $100, and all I had was some cheap flimsy little blade that could barely cut cheese. Now I'm 23 years old and I finally decided to get myself a high quality knife that I could be proud of. I remembered my friends' expensive knives, and that was what I started out looking for, but thanks to Amazon I found that you don't have to spend a lot of money to get great quality tools. I chose this knife out of about 20 other knives I looked at and I don't regret my decision one bit. This thing is great. It has a nice weight to it, it's extremely solid and sturdy, hasn't come loose or wobbled in its joints yet, and I've had it for about 6 months now. It holds a fantastic edge, feels great and very natural in my hand, and the Assisted Open feature is awesome. I love the size, and the 40% serration is perfect. Any more or less would reduce its usefulness in my opinion. I use this knife almost every day and I hardly ever have to sharpen it.
In fact, it comes so sharp out of the package that I accidentally cut my thumb open when I wasn't careful enough closing it and I had to get 4 stitches. I cut my thumb all the way to a nerve, and even though the cut has healed, I still can't feel anything at all where I cut it. It's completely numb. There are only two things I am not particularly fond of with this knife, but they are not enough to warrant a reduction in my 5 star rating: 1) When clipped on my belt, the glass breaker is slightly uncomfortable when sitting down unless I have my shirt tucked in or I position it at an angle. 2) I wish it had a seat belt cutter. Of course, I could have purchased the same brand with the seat belt cutter, but it would have cost and extra $12 and in the end I thought this one just looked better overall. I love this knife and if anything ever happened to it, I would definitely consider replacing it with the same one. Highly, Highly, Highly Recommend this knife.

Got it today which was about three days after ordering, this knife is awesome! It locks up solid as a rock, very with no play, the blade deploys very fast with a good snap! I have many knives even some high end and all I can say is this knife is a steal for the price! Its made in Taiwan which in my opinion is ten times better than knives made in China. The blade will shave the hair off your arm straight out of the box!

I was looking for a knife that I could quickly open with one hand, had a lock, and looked cool (what can I say, I like black). This was my first assisted opening knife, and I abused it. I used it as a knife, chisel, screwdriver, hammer. I liked the feel of the assisted opening so much that I would absentmindedly open and close it while reading or laying around. It was opened and closed upwards of 40 times a day. After two years of this, a part of the opening trigger snapped, which meant the rear trigger was non-functional. However, it still had the assisted opening working with the thumb stud. So I was pretty satisfied.
PROS:
-Sharp out of the box
-Very cool looking
-Nice weight
-Functioned very well, with little slop.
-Insanely durable
-Easy to sharpen
-Lock functioned perfectly.
-Cut anything I put in front of it, including rope, paper, wood, cans, and (stupidly) my hand
CONS:
-It did have a piece break two years into our abusive relationship
-The pocket clip got a tad loose (but I was able to tighten it)
-The serrations are a bit of a bear to sharpen for someone without much experience, such as myself. However, you shouldn't really need to.
-My biggest issue with this knife: the thumb- "stud". It's actually a rectangle of metal affixed to the exterior of the knife. It's a little harsh on soft hands for a couple of days.
CONCLUSION:
This knife did everything advertised, and more. Assuming you're not a complete idiot such as myself, this knife will last for quite some time. If you're buying this as a combat knife, I can attest that it rends flesh quite well (again, I'm not always the brightest), and opens wickedly swiftly.
TLDR CONCLUSION:
Would recommend. Any cons are heavily outweighed by the pros.

Great knife. Sturdy, tight feel and construction. Blade arrives very sharp, can't say "razor sharp", but I doubt you'll be disappointed. Easy open and release works smoothly, Clip is attached very well, and through considerable usage, has neither loosened or lost shape.
That's what S&W delivers, quality. Cannot go wrong with this.

I had a cheaper Smith & Wesson knife that I carried with me everyday, but lost it. I was coming back to buy a replacement and saw this knife in the recommended area. I use my knife for a lot of things. Working in construction and carpentry work leaves me needing a knife 10-20 times a day. I honestly didn't realize this is the flip a button knife since I had seen those at Academy Sports for double the Amazon price. My main interest was the thick blade and serrated edge.
So, there comes warning #1. This is not a toy. The blade really gets out of the case in a hurry. Luckily you do have to flip a "safety" switch before it will work and you then have to push a button on the side to pop the blade out. I'll tell you the nicest thing about this feature. When you're fishing and you're holding a line with a fish on it and need to cut the line. You can use this knife with one hand. It has a good heft to it, the glass buster on the end, seat-belt cutter. It's become my everyday knife. I'm just making sure I'm more careful not to lose this one.

I love this knife. It's been by my side since day one out of the package. Has remained sharp but has also worn as expected. The clip came a little loose but it tightened up with out a problem and has stayed tight. Heavy duty and very quality.

Its heavy which is great. The blade flicks open immediately with great force that will tremor your wrist. Super sharp. Tough blade. Has a great weighted end to it to help bust out your windows in the event of an emergency. Has great grips too... you cant drop it and it wont slide out of your hands.
BE WEARY OF KNIFE LAWS. Some people in NY say this knife is illegal, while other knife professionals say that its perfectly fine. Just be weary of local knife laws because one officer may arrest you for "thinking" you have an illegal knife, while other cops may "think" its perfectly legal and not think twice about it.

Very nice tool. The assisted spring has stunning kick, and can easily be flicked open from the back, or just by pushing the front with your pointer and thumb. The safety is cool, and the blade feels very heavy duty. The belt clip is quite strong too, which is nice because I've lost knifes with poor clips before.
Definitely worth the money.

This is a great knife. It's got a sturdy pocket clip, has great weight to it, a serrated portion to the blade, an open safety (much like a firearm safety), and a little metal bit in the bottom of the handle to act as a glass breaker in an emergency. The handle, open and closed, fits very well in a normal sized hand, with finger grooves when open.
My favorite part about the knife is the 'quick open' switch which is located on the top of the knife, if you draw it from your right side. In case of need for a defense situation, I have confidence I could draw and ready the weapon much faster than a handgun. This is the most important part of the knife, in my opinion.

This knife is truly one of a kind. I have several knives everything from pocket knives, diving knives, and hunting knives and many more. this is one of the most well crafted. the thumb safety definitely has a handgun feel to it which is awesome. everyone i show it to is thoroughly impressed. the blade is sharp out of the box and stays that way. it is heavy duty and well constructed. the grip is very fitting and can be used in several grip styles. the lock stays locked and is easily unlocked when you want it. This is a must have pocket knife you will not be disappointed...im gonna buy some as presents.
