I had a couple of power tools that I've been either storing loose or in the cardboard box (a DeWalt impact wrench and a Black & Decker drill - both corded) that I decided needed another storage option. Given the relatively low price, I ordered both the Craftsman 13" Reinforced Tool Bag as well as the Stanley STST70574 12-Inch Soft Sided Tool Bag. I was amazed to find that while both are excellent, well constructed bags, they are actually suited for very different purposes.
Both bags are made from a durable feeling 100% polyester. Both seem to be well constructed, with reinforcing material on the heavier duty seams. Both have a two piece fabric handle. Both are attractive, but fairly different styling. Both are made in China.
The Craftsman bag has significantly more storage area inside, much more so than the 13 vs 12 inch size in the descriptions would lead you to believe. In addition to the extra inch of length, the base of the Craftsman bag is 8" wide compared to 5" for the Stanley bag, resulting in vastly more interior space. In keeping with the larger (and potentially heavier) payload of this bag, there is a bit more reinforced stitching on the handle of the Craftsman, as the handle fabric continues much further down the side of the bag. The other big win for the Craftsman is the heavier duty zipper. While still matching the price point of this bag (e.g. too much stress will destroy it), the zipper has bigger, heavier duty teeth that just feel like they'd hold up to a lot more abuse than the Stanley bag.
In contrast, the Stanley bag looks a bit more refined. While both bags have 6 outside pockets, the Stanley has 3 pockets on each side of the bag, with the larger pocket on one side having a heavy duty Velcro flap to hold stuff in. In contrast, the Craftsman has three mesh pockets, with three non-mesh pockets right behind them. The pockets on the Stanley have a much greater capacity while the ones on the Craftsman seem quite limited. On the inside of the bag, the Stanley has 5 pockets of varying size on one side, and on the other side a single pocket the entire length of the bag with two Velcro attachment points to allow you to secure things inside. The Craftsman has no interior pockets. While I'm not convinced of the usefulness, the Stanley bag also has light reflective strips on the outside pouch flap, so it could save your life if walking down a dark rural road swinging your tool bag.
For the purpose I originally had in mind (storing largish hand tools), the heavy duty, larger Craftsman bag fulfilled my needs exactly. However, if you're looking for a small tool bag to keep the basic screwdrivers, hammer, tape measure, and other small assorted tools in one of your kitchen cabinets, the Stanley is probably the better choice.
When I pulled both out of the Amazon box, I found the Stanley to be the better bag... until I needed to fit the large tools in - at which point the Craftsman was the clear winner. But I will have no problem finding a use for the Stanley bag. Both are a good value for the money.

This is the ideal bag for a casual handyman-at-home. I never thought I'd be rating a tool bag 'LOVE IT', but this bag is just that good. Great construction, practical organization of inside and outside pockets, comfy handles, and it's good looking too. All that for $9.95 shipped!? Yes please.
One of the things you're probably concerned about is - "Is this the right size for me?" Rather than say it's big or small, I'll just list out what I keep in it to give you an idea of what this bugger can hold. Here's my bag:
- 1 x 12" hammer
- 2 x Screwdriver
- 1 x Putty knife
- 1 x Utility knife
- 1 x Black & Decker 7V Screwdriver/Drill
- 1 x Recharging base for said screwdriver's battery
- 1 x Case of drill bits
- 2 x 5 pc Combination wrench sets
- 1 x Heavy duty measuring tape
- 1 x GFCI outlet tester
- 1 x Small Ziploc bag with screws, connectors, odds & ends
That's a lot of stuff for a 'small' bag eh?
Pros:
+ Solid construction
+ Comfortable handles
+ Side pockets on both exterior sides and the insides
Cons:
- The zip isn't as heavy duty as a rest of the bag, so you'll have to be a bit careful while closing it

I bought one of these for some art studio supplies, like printing ink and heavy letterpress tools. It's such a nice size I needed another one right away for rock hammers, chisels, etc.

This bag is very sturdy and you'd be amazed with how many tools you can fit in there, I love it cause it is small, very easy to carry around and doesn't weight too much when it's empty. I bought mine at wa1mart for $9 bucks and change.

We use this as our electronics gadget bag for everything from chargers to flash drives to chargers. It's great for traveling to keep everything together.

What a great tool kit. It is big enough to hold every thing I need, and small enough so I don't put extra stuff in. It has pockets inside and out. It is made out of very tough material, not flimsy canvas. I knew I could trust the name Stanley. I got a 13 inch hammer and it just fit, but it did. I ordered a lot of tools (listed below) and they all fit !! I plan to just take this from room to room, use the tools, and put them back in. A place for everything and everything in its place.
Here is what fits in this tool bag.
Black & Decker AS6NG Alkaline Cordless Screwdriver

I came across this item when I was searching for some new Stanley tools to buy. I didn't intend to buy this but I thought for the price why not have a bag to store all my tools in one place. This bag doesn't disappoint because it is sturdy for a smaller bag and it holds more than you would initially think. The pockets on each side of the bag allow you to store smaller items like mini flash lights, tape measure, packing tape, box knife, batteries, etc. This leaves the inside of your bag to store bigger tools or other misc. items. I also store my poster and velcro strip packages and my screen cleaning kit for my electronics. It has become my all in one handy bag to have for doing things around the house.

Boy this bag is great. I do alot of flying and I bring lots of kittens with me. It is expensive to pay for the kittens to travel so I use this bag to hide them. I put a kitten in each pouch and then put a utility knife or tape measure over each kitten, and then it looks like a tool bag. But its not-its a kitten transporter. So then I bring it on board and then I don’t pay for the kittens. Sometimes they attempt to pop their head out or meow, then I have to sing during the flight.

I purchased this bag basically for a Milwaukee drill driver and multitool and accessories. The Milwaukee bag that came with the set is nice but limited with the number of pockets for smaller items to keep organized. This bag is about twice the size by volume making it capable of holding my drill, multi tool, both batteries, drill bit set, and charger in the main compartment. There are pockets inside that help with the organization of the different tools the multi tool can handle. The outside pockets are great for holding general plier's, crescent wrenchs, and other misc tools. Very nice bag for what I wanted it for.

This tool bag keeps all my household tools in one place - which I like, is nicely constructed, no problems holding the tools I've placed in there and could hold several more as well. I like the extra pockets on the outside too. Designed well for the intended purpose.
