I bought this at the local big box store because they didn't have the older model that got 3000+ raves here on Amazon (# 51609). As such, I was leery about buying the new model. To me, a cheaper, newer model just meant more outsourcing to China with a corresponding drop in quality. Well, even though I can't compare the 51619 to the 51609, I can say I'm completely 100% happy with the Toro 51619 Ultra.
Having reached middle age, I just couldn't stomach the thought of another springtime of manually raking the millions of oak leaves out of our Florida St. Augustine grass. The leaves get woven into the grass blades and manually raking them out is quite a chore. And then once you start getting a big pile of them, raking the pile across the grass is even tougher. I'm just too old for that sort of stuff now. As such, I figured I'd make a technology leap out of the 19th century and into the 20th century and blow them out of the grass. To my delight, blasting them out with the Toro Ultra worked like a charm. Setting the dial to hurricane force and putting the air blast very close to the base of the grass blades sent the oak leaves flying out, leaving behind ground that was almost too clean - it removed all of the beneficial thatch in some areas. With a little finesse, though, I was able to keep much of that biozone intact.
After rounding up the leaves into several big piles (and leaving my lawn amazingly green and pretty), I switched to vacuum & mulch mode and to my astonishment, that actually worked! (I was totally skeptical that that would actually work.) Better than that, though, the mulching process cut the number of plastic garbage bags I had to lug to the curb and instead of ~ six or seven 33 gallon bags I would normally use, I only ended up using four. (You can unload two Toro vacuum bags per 33 gallon trash bag.)
So as you can see, if you're a Floridian who dreads raking oak leaves the old fashion way, please stop right now and buy one of these!
Update: This hook works well to store the Toro 51619 on the wall: "Dorman Hardware 4-9719 Double Storage Hook"

Those who know my reviews know I love my electric yard tools. With a smaller yard and limited storage, I don't want to have gas cans and oil sitting around. I mow my lawn with a GreenWorks 25022 12 Amp 20-in 3-in-1 Electric Lawn Mower, so walking around the yard with an extension cord is really not a problem for me. For most of my regular yard detail work (edging and string trimming), I have some battery operated Black and Decker tools, but the 18V blower just never cut it. You need power in a blower, and this Toro blower is one of the best I've used.
For starters, you are getting a really powerful 2 speed blower here. Plugging it in is very easy because there is a pig-tail for the plug, not just a plug on the unit. Pig-tail configurations are much better in this sort of device. There is also a cleat to strain-relieve the cord so it does not pull out. Assembly is a snap - just pop the plastic protector on the bottom, affix the blower tube, and you are good to go! Take care that there is a small nozzle that was inside the tube - you can remove the nozzle for a wider air path or add it for more concentrated power. I was "blown away" by the >230MPH wind speed setting. I was easily able to clean up leaves even though they were wet and on long grass. I had to drop the speed in one spot because they were shooting too far and missing my pile - fortunately there are 2 speed settings.
Cleanup is also a breeze - pop off the bottom protector and add a 2-piece tube plug a bag and you can mulch leaves. The bag has a strap to hold it on your shoulder, and a convenient full-length zip to clean it out. My only complain here is that it was a bit larger an opening than the leaf bag - it might have been nicer if the narrower bottom opened instead. But having the longer edge open does make it easier to get out all of the leaves.
This is a quality tool with a lot of power. Trust me - the battery operated blowers just don't have enough power (and don't last long enough - I used to need 3-4 batteries to make it through my lawn). This thing is about as good as you can get without going gas. Get yourself a long extension cord and you will be good to go. Highly recommended and a great price!

This works better than advertised -- I use it to clear my backyard, patio, driveway, it even knocks spiderwebs off the house and garage walls!
Thank goodness it has two speeds -- the higher setting is too strong for some tasks! I actually look for excuses to use this tool.

Love the blower! I'm 66 years old, and found it very easy to handle, and it did a great job.

This is a great tool! Haven't tried the blower option but it vacs and mulches quickly and efficiently. The entire backyard which used to take literally 90 minutes or more was done in under half an hour and the bag unzips at the bottom so you hold it over your bin and it's done. I can't recommend this enough.

What I like:
-Very small. This product takes up virtually no space in my garage. It's light and easy to hold through long jobs with no problems.
-Hurricane powerful. This thing blows leaves across my big yard, and cleans my garage in a minute or two. I've used the larger, gas powered blowers and this is pretty much their equivalent.
-Comes ready to use! Clip the nozzle on the motor, and it's good to go. About 3 seconds to assemble.
-Uh, crazy super inexpensive. I've owned rakes that cost more.
-Two speeds: close to the leaf pile and far from the leaf pile.
What I don't so much like:
-In a perfect world, this would have a more secure method of securing your extension cord to the blower. (Yes - you need an extension cord to use this product). After all, you drag it around your yard all day, and it's a bit of a pain to keep re-connecting the cord when it comes loose. This is easily remedied by holding the cord in your hand holding the handle or looping it around the blower. Still, it could be slightly more perfect.
Overall:
-Seriously, for the price this baby is absolutely amazing! Don't spend any more money on a leaf blower.
Extras:
-Few people know this, but a leaf blower is a super useful tool for detailing your car, interior and exterior. Blow all the dust and old french fries from under your seats and all the nooks and crannies. Super fast. And dry your car for a spot free finish.

I love it! I am 68 & want a good product that is easy to use. This Toro is my new love! You can put the bag strap over your head onto the opposite shoulder for more stability. It vacuums dirt, grass, weeds, just about anything...without getting jammed...probably aided by the metal fan (no cheap plastic fan). Can even place one hand on 'top red front piece' that sticks out (toward the nozzle) & balance with one hand. A fantastic vacuum with a big bag that is well placed and a zipper that refuses to get stuck & continues to function even after all the dirt and crap is emptied over it.
I described the vacuum as fantastic So the only way I can describe the blower is phenomenal!!! It will blow every sort of debris as fast as you want it to. The variable speed dial is great for vacuuming and phenomenal for blowing. Can turn to low & blow dirt away from walkway or driveway without creating a huge cloud of dust that would engulf your clean car. You can not go wrong with this mighty Toro.

Love this blower. I had another Toro electric blower; but, after many years of use it finally gave out. I replaced it with this blower which is even better. The two speeds make it easy to get in behind pots at the slow speed and the driveway on high. Easy to use and fairly light.

It's that time of year again, when the leaves start falling and cover my yard with a beautiful blanket of color. In past years, I have just waited for a very windy night (very frequent here in Oklahoma) and raked them all into the road for the wind to carry off, a bit embarrassing because it would invariably leave big piles of leaves in the road that take a few days for the wind to do it's job, (which is why I always waited for the cover of darkness.) For the past 3 years I have used my mulching lawn mower to grind them and leave them in my yard. That was so much easier, why I didn't think of that sooner is a mystery to me. Well, I decided, after several years, to once again take up gardening. Unfortunately, here in Oklahoma, we have red clay dirt and it is AWFUL! Lucky for me I have loads and loads of leaves to make compost to amend my soil. Last year I mulched them with my mower and bagged them but even though it did a fairly good job, it would leave mulched leaves behind on my lawn and there was a gap where the bag attached to the mower and the finely chopped leaves and it's dust would fly. Time to shop around for a blower vac. Knowing I didn't want a gas powered unit, I compared battery vs. electric. I was hoping to find a battery charged blower vac so I wouldn't have to mess around with a cord, but they were hard to find. The reviews for electric ones convinced me that electric was the way to go because the battery ones would give out after about half an hour and were just not as powerful as the corded ones. I landed on this one and the reviews were great! Having never owned one before, I relied on others' experiences to help me make an informed decision. For just a hundred bucks, I got a really nice blower vac. It arrived yesterday and I spent a couple of hours today testing it out. To start, the directions for assembly were not the best, but after pulling up a couple of videos to watch, I figured it out. It was a cinch. I hooked up my extension cord and went to work. I didn't use the blower to make a big pile, but instead just swept across my yard. It took longer than I had hoped, the bag filled up quickly, got heavy very fast but the results were fabulous! It turned out finely mulched leaves ready to empty into my compost bin. I'm sure by next week my yard will be covered again as my trees still have many leaves and plus, I feel that every leaf from the neighbors end up in my yard. I will use the blower feature to make a big pile to suck up and see if that is easier.
This blower vac was a bit on the heavy side and I think it would be easier if I were a couple of inches taller. When the bag got about 3/4 full, I could see the strain put on the stitching. Where the bag hooks onto the part that attaches to the unit, the dust flies out a bit. It wasn't overly loud.
All in all, after day one, I am very happy with this. Will update if anything changes!

This is a great product for women...light weight and easy to use. I purchased it for leaves and it does the job very well...I really like the dual speed also. I use almost all electric outdoor equipment because the gas run things are just too heavy to handle. I will be using it to clean the walls in the garage as well as on the house and I am sure I will find other uses too.
