Remember when you needed a versatile and reliable sander? The WEN Belt Disc Sander easily sands, smooths and removes all of the jagged edges and splinters on your wood and lumber. With a 4.3 amp 1/2 HP motor, users should anticipate enough power to prevent this machine from bogging down under a large load. Changing the spacious 4-inch-by-36-inch belt is a breeze, so you’ll have the power to switch and replace sand paper grits as needed without wasting any time. The belt also tilts anywhere from 0 to 90 degrees to accommodate the needs of your particular workpiece while the heavy cast-iron base prevents vibrations.
With all of this in addition to the 6-inch side disc, you’ll have the capacity to sand whatever your heart desires. The sanding disc is accompanied by a sturdy cast-aluminum work table. This package also includes an 80-grit sanding disc, an 80-grit sanding belt, a miter gauge for steady sanding on angled edges, a stop bar for safety and control, and a 2.25 inch dust port to connect a dust extractor. And because this is a WEN Product, your purchase comes backed by a two-year warranty, a nationwide network of skilled experienced technicians, and a helpful customer service line all to make sure that you remember WEN.

When I was comparing different sanders, I was concerned about the quality and construction of the different units. In particular, I was concerned about the amount of plastic in the unit, as well as fearful that the unit would quit working after a month.
I'm happy to write that this WEN sander is put together solidly. The chassis is all metal, and has heft. The only plastic parts are the switch toggle, the belt tension release handle, the belt tracking knob, the belt shroud, and the included miter gauge. This is a quality sander, and a great addition to my home-shop.

The belt sander came well packed, icluded all parts and was easy to setup. The table is surprisingly sturdy but the miter gauge is very loose in his track. I guess its more an rattling noise issue which is easily solved be removing the gauge when not in use. But also pay attention if you need to work very precise.
While I left the disk as it came with a 80 grit I changed the belt right away to an 150 grit belt.
Changing and adjusting the belt is very easy and done in seconds.
So far it didn't bog under normal workload.
I am still on my first belt/disk so I can't really say something about long-term use but at this point I am confident the sander will last.
As previously mentioned the stopper/guide is much better designed with the Ryobi version but I can live with it at the moment.
So I am very happy with this sander and would totally recommed it to a friend

I am just a DIY person that likes to make saw dust. I had put off buying a good sander until I had done my research and read plenty of reviews. This is Belt and Disk combo is well worth the money. I find a use for it on most every project I do. When I think of the time and elbow grease I have spent sanding over the years I feel fooling. This makes short work of 90% of my sanding needs.

We bought this for our school. It works well, but the main belt strips easily. Make sure you get extras, probably take it apart and read the numbers before they rub off. I don't feel like I've ever gotten a replacement belt that fits completely right, but I was able to get ones that work well on ebay. It's a good sander and worth the money.

I am really liking this sander! Had a smaller grizzly that worked fine for the smaller jobs, but this is just what the doctor ordered for small/medium sized jobs for this DIY'r. Been using about a week and a half. Made adjustment for dust into vacuum system as the hole is pretty large for discharge. No biggie. First Wen product and so far am a new fan .

Another winner from Wen! I have a WEN scroll saw and I'm equally impressed with this belt/disk sander...It gets up speed right away and no bogging. Another plus is all the metal making it heavy and well constructed. No vibration to speak of so I had no need to bolt it down. It was easy to assemble and a breeze to change the disk/belt. It has a larger dust port than my ShopVac so I ordered a SHOP VAC 1.25 TO 2.25 ADAP from Rockler WoodWorking and Hardware. I also purchased a MLCS 9080 Billy Pedal Foot Switch, Deadman Style from Amazon to free up both hands. I'm pleased and would recommend this to anyone looking for a good compact sander.

One of the best purchases I have ever made. It far exceeded my expectations. I've started a bit of a hobby, I've been making wooden weapons. This thing is awesome. The price tag is perfect replacement belts and disc are quite inexpensive. I see myself using this thing until I burn it out.
I did not receive a discount for writing this review. I bought this with my own money. In the future if somebody wants to give me some money to write a review that would be awesome.

if you are in the market for a bench top sander, look no further. I am a diehard portercable fan, but this was priced better, and the reviews speak for themselves. Belts are very easy to change, Disks as well, and it makes quick work of even the hardest woods. I absolutely love it. Made me a believer in WEN products.
