I will start off by saying that this vice is quite a bit smaller than I was expecting and the only photograph on amazon is a bit misleading due to the angle at which it was taken. The jaws are in fact 4.5 inches wide but compared to other ~4 inch bench vices, however the anvil portion is so small I don't really consider it at all functional. That being said, the overall operation of the vice seems very smooth and I had no issues tightening down the swivel so it is securely held in a fixed position. The addition of a pipe holder at this price point is very difficult, if not impossible to find at any big box or hardware store. This is a great value for occasional home use and light duty projects if you have no intention of using the anvil. If I could give this 4.5 stars I would due to the size of the anvil but overall the quality of this vice for under $30 makes this a great value.

Solid build and easily installed. I put it at the end of my work bench and it has already helped me immensley on one AR build and ready to be used for upgrades and help friends. The swivel really comes in handy, and everything is solid if you tighten to a stop.

I would be hard-pressed to imagine finding a better value for a quality vice. It's very well built with quality materials and seems like it will last a lifetime for moderate to mildly heavy home use. I just used it today to swap out a couple AR-15 muzzle brakes and it was a champ. I bought a portable vice a couple months ago for a few bucks more and it fell apart quickly (the threads on the screw that tightens/loosens the vice shredded themselves). Doesn't seem like it will be an issue with this one.

A very solid work bench vice for most of us "men" who need one. The construction and quality of this vice is impressive for the price. I had to replace my old one that was nearly exactly the same size and this one's quality is way better. If you are a professional that needs a professional vice, get one. This one will work great for 99% of the world's population. If you need a bench vice, this is the best value I could find.

Turned out I didn't need this at all but used it for two days without any problems. Very versatile easily adjusts to different positions. I epoxied it to a 1" bottom cushion to not mar my table. Quite heavy duty for the size which is a good thing to have weight. If u need this this is the one. You get a well engineered home vise for the money.

For the price I don't think this vise can be beat. Another reviewer mentioned the slop in the swivel pivot, which does exist, however it hasn't impacted my use of the vise and as he mentioned it's an easy enough fix. So far I've only used it to clamp down lawn mower blades to sharpen. It held them perfectly in place while I went to town on my grinder. It gripped them nicely, I've used other vise' that mere vibration causes the object to start slipping or rotating around. That is definitely not the case here. It holds it right where you need it. For $20 this vise is amazing. If you have an object to hold that's 4 1/2" or less, this will do the job just as well as a $50 vise. Right now I have it temporarily mounted on a bench. I plan on mounting it to a steel plate welded to 2"OD square tubing and then using 2"ID tubing for it to slip inside. Ill make an L for my receiver hitch and mount another 2" ID tube on my table. This way when I need it on a job I can bring it with me, or I can keep it at home, Although for the price I could just get another, I do like having versatility.

Great Product and impressive quality. Amazing manufacturing processes went into the making of the product. For the price I had a bit of trepidation to obtain this device. But after inspecting it and installing it on my work bench - I was very deeply impressed. Definitely would recommend this to all my friends and family. I didn't waste any time putting it into service and work on a project. It's great to see things being made to last for many years to come. Shipped quickly - and was packaged very carefully. It was delivered on time and we couldn't be any more happy with this purchase.

After reading the reviews, I decided to buy the Yost LV4 inspite of some complaints about the sloppiness of the center bolt. Well, the observations were accurate, but the solution was easy thanks to a reviewers great solution which he was kind enough to show by a photo. I had some aluminum flashing, that I trimmed to about 3/8 of an inch wide and then molded it around the circumference of the bolt that was not threaded. End of problem. At the time of purchase the cost on Amazon was $22. Two days later they are listing it for $40. Talk about luck. One for the good guys.

SOLID bench vise. Got it to cut some pipe and do some basic gunsmithing. Won't be an issue for my needs. Seems solid and well built. There's a bit of wobble, but it goes away when you cinch down the locking mechanism. I was going to settle for the Harbor Freight Surprise, but am glad I went this route. Would I love a 6" vise? You bet! Do I want to pay 4-5x the price? Nope. And frankly, this will handle 99% of my needs. If/when I meet that 1% I'll either borrow the one at my parents farm, or worry about it then ;)

Nice basic features, clamps well with easy release, four point bench attachment, and can hold round stock too. Plus it's a 4 1/2 incher, not 4, so a good home owners vice. And the price can't be beat. Gotta love Amazon.
