Just bought this at the home depot for $129.99. After freaking out after inserting the blade and seeing a bunch of reviews stating these saws were machined incorrectly and weren't straight. I scoured the internet and stumbled upon a review stating that it requires significant force to pusb these in all the way to seat them correctly. I tried it and now it sits straight. I posted the correct and incorrect seatings. One clear sign it was in right is it pops free when you pull on the blade release when it was in right.

This is a GREAT tool. If you use a jig saw, you'd be hard pressed at this time to find a better option for all-around use. This is the one cordless saw that has COMPLETELY replaced my corded tool - I bought this over 2 yrs ago, and have not had to use my corded saw once since. It adjusts easily, has plenty of power for most tasks (including tight countertop cutouts), and has much better battery life than I was expecting. And speaking of batteries. . . there sure seem to be a lot people out there who can afford expensive tools without knowing what they're buying. This, like ALL the Milwaukee M18 tools, takes the M18 XC (bigger) battery. It WON'T take the compact battery that is designed only for the the low load tools in the series. I personally love this choice. I use the compact drill with the small battery for 90% of my tasks because it has enough power for most jobs, yet is small & light enough to ride in my tool bag with my other tools. If I know I have a bigger job at hand, I can use the longer life XC battery on the same tool or grab a bigger drill. How do you give a poor rating to a tool that you've NEVER used because YOU bought the wrong thing? Is that a rating of the tool, or the user?

After using this jig saw the first time, I gave my old trusty Craftsman 110v, that I'd had for 20 years, to my son. I've pretty much gone over to Milwaukee M18XC for all of my cordless tool needs. The jig saw is easy to use, very powerful, and accurate. The blades are simple to change, with no tool needed. My only very minor complaint is it is on the heavy side, which is no problem when using in the shop. I use the XC batteries exclusively, rather then the Milwaukee compacts. I don't think the jig saw will work with the compact battery. Overall a great saw and I would recommend it with no reservations.

I brought this jigsaw and thought it would be ok but to my surprise this would be one of the most powerfull jigsaw that i have ever used and it is a great unit to use, the battery life from using this realy surprised me i exspected the battery to go flat very quickly on what i was doing did not have to worry the battery life was outstanding and this jigsaw left the corded one at work for dead it cut in a fraction of the time, ten times better than i exspected great unit i dont say this lightly.

Tons of power, Heavy (which for me is a good thing), and easy to use/maintain. Bought this to finish in my basement and make nice clean cuts in a counter for a sink to go in later. Got home with the wrong blades and I was a little nerveracked that this has special blades I actually had to order online since our local home depot and menards didn't have any at the time. Once I received them though I saw exactly why... the ease of changing a blade on this thing is so awesome and so far I haven't had any of the issues with the blade lining up.
Went with Milwaukee as I'm in the Air Force and we have Milwaukee M18 and M12 tools that we've used for over 5 years and beat the crud out of and they still work to this day. I was so impressed I started to purchase them for home use and have yet to be disappointed. Every tool I've bought so far has been well thought out and EXTREMELY durable. To be cordless you don't see much power difference until the batteries are near the end of their life.
Would HIGHLY recommend anyone to consider getting this line of tools before looking elsewhere... Amazing line

This is a great Saw I modified one of my lighter and smaller 18 volt batteries that Milwaukee will not let you install in there saw because it will not last long because off its small capacity,I cut a vanity sink countertop with it and made extra cuts to trim out the hole and still had 50% left in battery,If you buy this saw make sure you have Hi-capacity Batteries or it will not fit in saw unless you modify.

It performs just as well if not better than a corded jigsaw, however my experience with this saw has only been cutting 3/4 plywood. I always work outside in my backyard. Milwaukee = Heavy duty, quality

Bought this primarily for the cutting end designs for my pergola rafters and beams. It worked wonderfully and the XC4.0 battery gave me plenty of cuts. I think I had to replace it with another battery once the entire project. ...One thing I noticed about this tool was that the unit jarred loose of its steady right angle to the boards near the end. In other words, I believe it was vibrations from cutting that was making the locking handle pop loose and then the jigsaw would want to start cutting at a beveled angle. I made do with the final cuts without any real problems. Later I found out it was a simple tightening of the screw and bolt hidden under the sled, facing upwards. Fixed it like brand new. Now the handle pops into place with a solid stick, and my tool doesn't want to swivel. Milwaukee makes good stuff, and I'm constantly impressed with their m18 line.
Pros: comfortable grip, very powerful, very easy to control, cut through my 2x12's without any problems at all. No worries about a cord getting in your way. Great tool.
Cons: Sled handle that controls the bevel / angle cuts apparently comes loose after some use (for me it was in the middle of a cut). Tightens back up though, hopefully doesn't loosen up TOO easily in the future.. And NO LED light on this model.
Overall. Awesome tool I love it. Check out my DIY pergola

Has more power than Bosch electric jig saw. Cuts smoother with the same blade, has a lot less vibration making it better for scroll work.

I have owned this saw for around one year. During that year the saw has received a thorough workout and in my opinion has shown itself to be a fantastic jigsaw. Perhaps not quite on the same level as some of the very best Bosch jigsaws, none the less it is an exceptional tool which I have found to be a great addition to my Milwaukee M18 collection!
