This one is as good if not better than my 110 volt as far as performance goes. Being lithi cordless makes this a superior field tool. With the metal cutting disk it will cut through steel and any pipe. The masonary disk will cut 3 inch pavers in special form to fit applications. Sharpen lawnmower blades in a second. This is a top of the line tool. I ordered it at 10 am, got to my house at noon the next day on standard shipping as shipped from Washington to Oregon. One of the best tools I own. I have workers from Mexico who shy away from power tools like this concerning tight fit cuts, but I cannot keep them away from this one. 2 years now of daily use and runs like new.
Update as of March 3rd 2013. This thing is still running like new, I thought sure I was going to order a new one, but no, it has 4 years of dailey use in the field.
Second update- January 2015 still runs like new. It has become very dirty and used looking due to extensive outdoor paver cutting and other by employees but it is as functional as it was 5 years ago.
Third update: April 4 2016. Still running, have had to buy new batteries, but it is a die hard. Runs like new.

I ordered this tool so that I could get more use out of my m18 batteries. I was suprized at how quiet the unloaded motor was. Sometimes I like to work in my shop at night. With this tool I can manage the noise level as long as I do not grind too heavily. And the small batteries seem to carry the load for a reasonable amount of time for the size (being smaller than a 28 volt battery which I have used before).

I keep this in my tool box at work, being a mechanic I usually don't use it for long periods of time, so I'm done in the the time that it would have taken to get a corded tool hooked up, and I don't have to worry about the cord getting cut or hung up on something. I have a few other m18 tools and have had good luck with all of them.

Very surprised at the new safety clutch incorporated in it- it works beautifully. Usually the thin cut-off discs shatter from high speed torque, causing a big mess- but this grinder has a built in limit clutch that's amazing.

Have used this extensively on the job site and have been very pleased with it. Battery life is good for small jobs and power is on par with corded grinders of this size.

It's an awesome tool. I've had it in heavy rain and a bit of mud and it's still alive. Very handy for the field. Nice, ergonomical paddle switch. Safety clutch will slip if you try to force the grinder too much but that's bad practice in theory anyways.
It has a niche as a field tool/tool convenient for small jobs. If you need to remove large amounts of steel, then you should resort to a 7-9 inch grinder for those jobs.
Grinders need a lot of juice so a person might want to buy a larger '48-11-1828' battery.

Super happy with this grinder. I love the no tools needed adjustable guard. Works great, what an addition to my set.

Excellent power. It will suck a smaller battery dry pretty quickly if you run it continuously however I was using it for something it really wasn't designed for when that happened so I won't mark off for it. Fits nicely in the hand and it is very well balanced.

Needed this tool for a specific task. I knew it would make the job quick and easy so I picked it up (for far less than it is sold here on Amazon). This angle grinder performed flawlessly and I completed the tasked very quickly as I had hoped, right tool for the job! I would definitely recommend this tool to others if they have already bought into the M18 system. This is a no frills tool that performs very well and should last based on the long and successful history of Milwaukee tool company. Mine came with the two interchangeable guards and the spanner wrench. I took the liberty of enlarging the hole in the handle end of the supplied spanner wrench so that it would fit over the stud of the auxiliary handle, this way I will always know exactly were it is, since I can now slip the spanner wrench over the stud and then screw the handle into the grinder and stow it away. When I need it again I won't have to search around for the spanner to change grinding discs.

When buying this I had no clue how much I would be turning to this tool. It does drain a battery fairly quickly if being used for extended periods, but that is understandable. I love this tool and it compliments any tool set nicely.
