There are MANY options for a person who embarks on the mission of purchasing an impact driver. There is the first consideration of voltage 18 volt, 12 volt, and the many other variations out there. I had a simple evaluation to follow. I wanted something that was compact, light, strong, good battery life, and came with an adjustment setting allowing me to limit output in consideration of the task I was working on. I am not using this impact drill to sink 4 inch x 3/8" lag bolts, however if I had to I wanted my selection to be able to, and lastly I wanted it to be made in the USA. Ok for those of you who are not familiar with Milwaukee make it a priority to get intimate with their tools. I personally am ridiculous, I am not sure as to what is wrong with me but I have several of the same tools that perform the same tasks. I have impact drills frtom Ryobi 18 volt, 20 volt DeWalt, 12 volt Nexttec Which is a Sears deal, Makita in both 18 and 12 volt, Rockwell in both 18 and 12 volt, again not sure why it just is what it is. The point I weant to make is I have the competition to this Milwaukee M12, wait did I say competition. Before I got this M12 I used all of the impact guns equally. Since I got this Milwaukee M12 I have not used ANY of the other, nor would I go for one of those when this is an option. This little compact thing fits perfect in the hand, is similar in strength to the 18 volt impacts (there is a difference in power it is just not enough for my to abandon this M12 Fuel. This one is also brushless which aside from longer battery life and overall life just sound cool. The build quality of the Milwaukee M12 Fuel (I am not saying the Milwaukee M12 the non brushless deal is built like this one cause it is not), is FAR FAR and above EVERYONE of the others. I have 3 of these Milwaukee M12 Fuels, one for the bag I grasp to do projects away from home, one in my work shop in the garage, and one in a junk drawer in the kitchen. No that is not necessary, and I agree a bit a waste of money, however I can't get enough of these things. My wife stoped me when I was buying one for the car. Seriously this bad boy has a pair, it makes 1200 inch pounds where other 12 volt impacts don't clear 900 inch pounds. Then you have to take a step back and look at all the offerings from Milwaukee in the M12 line up. They have the coolest, best engineered, most well executed system of tools that all exibit unusual strength in a compact and super sturdy package. Plus this is all done right here in America. They also have a great customer service and support system in place where you, get this, can call using a phone and a human being, a real one answers the phone and here is where it gets weird, this person is happy you called and is looking to be as helpful as possible. It is almost like they appreciate that you spend your hard earned money on their offerings. Milwaukee is not cheap, buy it is not at the top of the list for being expensive either. Me, I am glad they are not inexpensive. I am under the firm belief that you do get what you pay for. In the case of Milwaukee M12 and M18 you get so much more then you get from the competition for anyone to look and buy something other then Milwaukee is someone using criteria that is not designed to root out the best of the best. Buy just one of these and watch how you accidently buy more of their tools on accident. Any where you buy has a return policy, whats the harm, go take a M12 fuel Brushless driver for a test drive, if it ain't all that return it.

I was primarily using my m12 fuel driver at work (Auto tech). Now that I bought this guy I rarely use it. Mode one is perfect for small interior and exterior fasteners, and mode 2 can remove bolts up to 15mm or so.

awesome tool tons of power best 12v impact on the market. im a full time mechanic and i use these tools every day. I use them HARD. Milwaukee has more then impressed me with there cordless power tools, they have amazed me. You wont be sorry if you buy this item or any of Milwaukee's other power tools. thats a promise.

I absolutely love this impact. Goes with me in my main tool bag to every service call. I have the M18 Fuel impact as well, but this really does everything I need one to do. Compact, so fits right in my tool pouch. Gobs of power. Will drill when I need it to. Don't let the fact that it's a 12v fool you, it's awesome!

Use this for HVAC Service and Installation, love it!

The standard-size M12 batteries allow you to get into tight spaces easily and the dual-mode feature is perfect:
Mode 1: remove and replace sheet metal screws without damaging them or stripping out the material.
Mode 2: drive screws into wood, remove larger and or rusted bolts or drilling.

Amazing, been using it daily 10hrs a day since purchase, my second one as I have one for home now, it's able to pull the lug nuts off my jeep, not too shabby for its size. I work on cell towers, it's light weight and the batteries last.

I have a bunch of Fuel M18 tools, so I wasn't sure about buying an M12 tool, but I am glad I did. Most recent Milwaukee chargers will charge both battery types anyway. My M18 impact wrench and hammer drill are awesome, but the XC 4.0 batteries are kind of heavy. This tool with the M12 XC battery is very light, and has become my go-to tool for around the house. It drills and drives screws like nobody's business. I also bought a set of adapters to put sockets on it. I have used it on light duty automotive jobs, and driven smaller lag bolts with ease. I actually just drilled out some 3/4" holes in 2x4 wood to run electrical wire, and it hardly even went into impact mode using a dull spade bit! When it goes into impact mode, it can be very loud, even louder than my M18 fuel impact wrench. This will not break lug nuts or drive large lag screws, but for an all around lighter duty tool, this cant be beat. FYI, if you catch a good sale, a lot of big box stores sell this with a battery for less than what amazon wants for the bare tool. Milwaukee is a bit pricier than others out there, but the quality cant be beat.

Great compact impact driver. It has good power for its size, comparable to an 18V impact. Extremely versatile with all the different bit configurations. Also very tough I've dropped it off a 6 foot ladder a few times and it just keeps working. I'm an electrician by trade and I use my impact every day. Its light weight and compact design make it perfect to carry on my tool belt all day.

This is a fun hex impact. Nicely compact, it really is a little workhorse. When attached to the lighter 2.0 amp M12 battery, it is not only well contoured, but is very light and easy to work with even when raising your hands and arms- they will not fatigue as quickly as with heavier tools. This packs a good punch for the size. It is "fun" to use and versatile. Comfort grip. Overall nice hex impact. This one I think is a real winner.

this fuel version is VERY nice and most IMPORTANT more affordable than a snap on impact driver. it can tighten the bolts very good to where i double check it and i am like dam that's pretty fk'ing tight.

very lightweight and convenient
i use the extended 4.0 lithium battery on this one because the smaller one runs out of battery pretty fast.

After all, my wife and I have gone through close to a dozen hand-held pruning saws during the 20+ years we've lived on our property. Those pruning saws always cut well when new but seem to get dull very quickly. With their close set, needle-like teeth they're also difficult to sharpen - and I've sharpened regular saws using saw sets and files. Eac...
