This tool has made my line of work a breeze!. I bought this impact driver in a kit with the 2407-20 M12 3/8" Drill/Driver. The kit came with two batteries the charger and nice sturdy canvas tool bag to keep everything in. I also bought the M12 LED worklight with the M12 2.0 battery.
Back the review of the 2462-20. I use this impact driver 5 days a week for 8 hours a day. This tool has pretty much made my job a breeze. When used properly this impact driver has no problems loosening rusted nuts and bolts that would otherwise be twisted off hand or by a regular screw gun.
I'm a small engine tech and this tool is a real time saver. I can now disassemble and reassemble machines twice as fast. Stuck screws come out easy. Basically any small screw or nut is no match for this tool. I use this impact gun on Allen screws, Torx screws,Phillips, Flat head screws, plus nuts and bolts up to 9/16 diameter. Although when I use this tool for 9/16 bolts its usually to loosen and tighten snowblower skids (hasn't had much trouble with rusted nuts either, just use some penetrating oil and some heat.)
The handle on this tool is very well thought out. Its very comfortable and has allot of grip. I can use this tool all day and not have any fatigue. The LED light is also very bright. Milwaukee put a reflector behind the LED to both brighten the light and also make the light beam wider. It does a good job of lighting the work area. The throttle trigger is very responsive to user input. Its a variable speed trigger so its not just a single speed or set stages of power output.
The front housing that houses all of the tools gears and hammer mechanism is made out of metal but the tools weight is evenly distributed so it doesn't feel front or back heavy. The chuck is easy to operate. Just pull the black collar to insert or remove a bit. Once you let go of the collar the bit locks in place. However like all hex impact tools you need to use the hex bits that have a channel cut out just above the base of the bit. If your mechanically inclined you'll know what I'm talking about. Otherwise regular hex bits will just fall out of the chuck. But adapters are readily available.
As for the tools power. It can and will break screw heads, strip threads and break aluminum and plastic parts if your not careful. Just something to keep in mind. The supplied M12 battery will last me 3 days on one charge. While the M12 2.0 battery will last me about 5 days.
Overall I think Milwaukee has a good thing going the M12 and M18 series of power tools. They are affordably priced and well made. The 2407-20 3/8" Drill/Driver is built just as well as this impact driver, everything I said about the 2462-20's ergonomics,LED light, power and build quality equally apply to the drill/driver. I use the drill/driver to install weight kits on smowblowers and both homeowner and commercial riding mowers. I also use the drill to remove broken screws and bolts, plus anything else that needs to be modified or drilled out. Its a great tool that also has a tone of power like this impact driver. I'm sure I'll have both tools for years to come.

I have been using this for a few weeks and must say that it is awesome and has surpassed my expectations. I already owned and still use the previous model impact driver. I figured that one was hard to improve but somehow Milwaukee did it. I wanted a new impact but didn't want to spend top dollar for the new fuel 12v model so I "settled" for this. It has slightly less torque and RPMs than its fuel relative but it isn't all that noticeable. One thing I liked better on my older model however is the grip and handle. To me, this new grip and handle isn't as comfortable as the other. But this is only a minor tiff, and certainly not enough to complain nor deduct a star. Overall an outstanding buy and I continue to be blown away by Milwaukee innovation.

This tool handles 80% of my needs alone. I bought a small kit that includes most of the common drill sizes and has a driver bit. I added this to my tool kit and only take along another drill when I need to drill concrete, use a hole saw or have a lot of drilling needs.
-Covers most of my small driving/drilling needs
-Small size and light weight are awesome
-M12 batteries last a long time
-M12 has a wide range of tools
-I would buy it new, refurbished units can be pretty beat up
-Light and battery charge indicator are nice
-THIS IS THE BARE TOOL!
Bonus Feature: This thing will take off lug nuts off cars. This is not an impact wrench, but 65 ft/lbs it can bust loose. I bought a socket adaptor set and have been using it on small engine repairs and anywhere I have a few fasteners of the same size to speed up a repair.

The Milwaukee 12 volt series is AMAZING. I am a cabinet maker and have for the past 10 years been using sears 19.2 volt system. I was in a Home Depot store one day and the Milwaukee rep asked what I wanted the drill driver for. He talked me out of the 20 volt larger unit and convinced me to buy this unit. I has amazing power. The little batteries last longer than the large Sears batteries and recharge in just a few minutes. These tools are extremely well built and well engineered. They have more power than my old 19.2 volt sears units. Since buying the first drill, I have purchased 4 more to equip my trailer and shop. I highly recommend this tool and others in the system.

This has become my go-to item in my workshop and I use it for everything. I had previously purchased the drill so I had several batteries. Purchasing the impact drill which uses the same batteries as the drill only made sense and it was a great purchase.

Tremendous torque. This says it all.
Rugged, the battery life is excellent.
I already had the same battery so I save just ordering the unit.

The Bomb! I have three of these now. I use them proffesionaly all the time and every day. They have lasted me over three years and have not failed yet. I bought another just so I do not have to keep swapping the bits. I use mine on ATVs and mowers. Works perfect for bolts and screws 8mm and smaller (5/16).

This is such a great drill. I have used it now just hanging a few things in the garage into some very thick and hard beams. Puts the screws in like butter. Love that impact sound! It has a ton of power for being how small it is. I love the battery gauge on the side to see how much you have left. The belt clip it comes with is such a nice feature that Milwaukees competitors don't have. That is an add on item.
Pros : Light Weight , Belt Clip , LED Light on front, 12v battery has long life for this, plenty of power coming out of this.
Cons : Wish the light was all around the chuck instead of on the bottom. Still works good though but could better.
That would be my only complaint about this drill.
I just replaced my Catalytic Converter on my 2006 Infiniti g35. Exhaust bolts are always so tough to get off. Once I broke them loose I was able to use this to get them off. Once they were broke lose it was still tough and time consuming to ratchet them off with a wrench. This tool saved me atlas 20 minutes of just ratcheting away and saved my arm. It also took off the 10mm bolts for a drip pan and for the Oxygen Sensor clips. This was VERY handy to have. After the project I checked the battery and it was still full. I did use it quite a bit too I was surprised how well charged they stay. It is really the perfect drill for car use & home use. I could see using this on a job site because of its power and versatility. Being light weight I think most people who work in construction needs this. It also is nice that it has the quick release. Makes it easy to switch out bits on the fly.
It also takes off Seat Bolts on the car. My 20v Dewalt Dril/Driver will not. It will break your wrist trying but won't loosen them. This makes it look so easy. I can't think of anything else to write besides good things about this drill. I WILL recommend to a friend and the friend that helped me do this job has a $700 1/2" snap on drill and wants to buy this because of its size and was very impressed with the power. His Snap On can take off Axle bolts and any other car bolt you throw at it. But he wants this to add to his collection. This also was my first Milwaukee purchase and I will be buying more Milwaukee tools in the future. Very impressed with this. Will update in 6 months once I have used it more and had it longer.

I started a part time job with an electician and needed a cordless impact. I was told by other electricians that a 12v is all I needed. It is smaller and lighter and less expensive than the 18v units. My kind of tool....ok now that I have used it for a while I would recommend it for almost any drilling reaming or driving job.I can't say enough about it's power for the size of this little unit.I should have bought one years ago!
