I bought this set at Ace for $[...] with a $30 rebate. But even without the rebate this set would be a good deal. I have used the impact driver to install drywall and fence boards. The impact driver works well and will drive drywall-sized screws into wood with only moderate pressure. Previously, using a powerful DeWalt corded drill I would have to use my weight to keep the bit engaged on the screw, even with a 1.75" long screw. But this impact driver will easily drive a 3" long screw into a 4x4, for example. The charger charges the batteries fast enough that you can work continuously. Run down the battery pop in a fresh one and continue working. By the time that battery is drained the next is charged.
The size of the tools is also very handy, they are on the small side but that is a plus when working in small spaces. At the store I had them open the box to make sure the size was acceptable. You may want to check this out in person also if you are concerned.
Even though these are only 12V these tools have worked well. Would definitely buy again.

I found this set for a silly price on Black Friday and picked it up even though I had no firm prior plan to get this sort of tool. Was using them an hour later and totally happy. I told a friend about my deal, and he pointed me to what seemed like a much better price on competitive product. I went to the local retail outlet to check out the other brand, and am pretty happy with my purchase of Red. The Milwaukees have metal gear cases, and the drill chuck is steel. The other brand was all plastic. The Milwaukees are better balanced and more compact with lower inertia thanks to the batteries in the handle, and the thick grips better fit my man-size hands. Feels better, should be more durable over the long haul. I was surprised that the Milwaukee tools are both in perfectly as-new, returnable condition in spite of being set on a concrete floor repeatedly during the hours I used them. The soft rubber parts are placed exactly right to prevent scratches, etc. But that doesn't matter, because I'm keeping them!
One nice feature of the drill is that it locks when the power is off, so you can use it as a wrench to tighten or loosen a fastener by hand, with a little more control of the torque applied.
I like to use the impact for removal and the drill for tightening stuff, because the clutch limits torque to prevent over-torquing small fasteners. You can go back by hand or with a torque wrench to torque things properly.
If you think you're going to be doing marathon work, like setting boards on a massive deck or something, you might consider buying the tools separately. You'll spend more, but you'll get more batteries and an extra charger, for probably a lot less than buying the set and then buying the batteries and charger separately.
Also, make sure you're buying the right tool for your needs. I bought these to speed up light-duty automotive and motorcycle work. If I need more torque, I'll be breaking things loose by hand. One day, I'll also get a 1/2-in drive cordless impact.

After watching my contractor using the M-12, I decided to ditch my cheapie Black and Decker and treat myself to a "real" drill driver set. I'm really happy with this product. "Light" easy to handle and the battery lasts!. I really appreciate the responsiveness which adjusts the speed and torque to the trigger pressure almost intuitively. My contractor is a strapping big guy and the M12 looks like a toy in his hand so I figured it would be just right for me. I bought the drill bit sets so I wouldn't have to go searching locally and found that I got a really great deal. I can see other Milwaukee tools in my future!

Most handmen or mechanics all go for the bigest longest lasting battery they can find. Been there done that. I needed a drill that I could use with one hand but had great torque. This drill more than meets that requirement. Being able to set the torque ft lbs for the screw or bolt that you are tightening is a unique but needed asset this drill offers. The high & low variable speed control is genius in slowly tightening the screw without damageing the screw head...slotted, phillips or whatever. The hex chuck eliminates the chuck turning but the drill bit stops turning while drilling metal especially. I think this is the best power tool I've ever used !
Then there's the impact driver that again can be used with one hand but has great torque. Impact driver's 12 volt lithium batteries provide good run time for their size and unbelieveable high torque. Drives 3 inch screws into 2x12 salt treated beams effortlessly. Impressive ! Milwaukee you're the best !!

i am a contractor and have all kinds of cordless drills and drivers.
Since I've gotten this set it is the one I reach for daily.
Batteries do not like the winter. They fail too often when stored in the cold.

I have owned middle of road cordless drills for year and decided to finally get something good. These drills are outrageously good compared to anything I have used before. Small, Solid, and powerful. The driver is ridiculously easy to use. The LED light is a really nice touch, but even without the nice touches, these are incredible tools. I don't know how I could ever have used anything else. 20 wasted years of using 2nd rate tools and being frustrated.
I had debated getting the Makita, but contractors tend to use Milwaukee. I can see why. It is so much better to buy the right thing once than to have several that work just OK. For a few extra bucks, these are worth it.

Fantastic set for the money. Reasonable amount of power; better than I expected out of a 12v; very fast charging battery, nice case with plenty of room for charger, both tools, and a decent size set of bits.

The drill and driver set have become my favorite tool (except for maybe my 20 year old Sawzall which I rarely use). They are very lightweight but more powerfull than any other battery powered tool I've ever owned including 16 volt tools. I use them often for home and auto. They hold their charge for an amazingly long time and recharge quickly. They are heavy duty in performance (typical of Milwaukee tools). I also bought Milwaukee drill and driver bits and frequently use them. I must admit I've gotten a bit lazy in grabing one of these power tools before I use my regular hand tools. They are small enough to get into tight spaces and the LED light at the front make them great for working under a sink or cabinet.

I have owned these drills since they came out. The wife needed a new drill for the house since I have my sets out in the field. Lightweight long lasting and tough. Great product. Have never had an issue except for the 3/8 chuck I bought had a battery insert issue. Milwaukee took care of it and was fixed by warrantee. You won't regret this purchase

Like many guys, I am partial towards a tool line (brand), largely based on prejudice, anecdote and over-reliance on personal experience. I mostly look first at Bosch tools, and have several of them in my garage and like them very much. This time, too, I considered Bosch 12V vs this product, went with the Milwaukee, and am very pleased with it. The product is nicely finished, and will likely stand up well to my use -- which is not production, rather, the homeowner and woodworker. The battery life is shorter than I'd hope but can live with it. Comes with a soft shell case which I repurposed. I am beginning to really like red, and this is not the last Milwaukee toolset in my collection.
