Wow, this thing is really slick. I didn't expect much from a 12v saw, but since I already own a couple other 12v tools and several batteries, I decided to give it a try. When it arrived, I unpacked it, installed the included carbide blade, stuck in a freshly-charged battery, and pulled the trigger. The rather sedate-sounding RPMs did not scream excessive power. However, in use, a very pleasant surprise. The saw cruises through ordinary light cutting tasks. I cut 5 pieces off a 2x4 with this, and then 5 more with a Makita contractors saw, and the difference in cutting speed was negligible. Not incidentally, this saw weighs 1/3 as much as the Makita. Being right-handed, I like that the blade is on the left, which better allows me to see what I'm doing. Depth and bevel settings are metal and hold tight. An allen wrench that fits the blade bolt is carried in a channel in the handle (a standard hex socket will work too), and a push-button lock facilitates changing the blade. I wouldn't recommend it for building a deck, but for lopping off some chunks of 2x6 to repair the deck rail, it's just the thing.

This saw is light but powerful. I got the largest battery to go with it and this combination is a workhorse. I have done quite a bit of work with it and am surprised at what it does. It cuts a lot of 2 x 4's and 2 x 6's plus ripping 3/4 inch plywood with power to spare and still has a half charge left. Perfect for occasional homeowner construction jobs. The light on the saw cut is great, and the saw cuts a straight line with no tendency to drift off. In short, This packs more of a punch than I expected from a small, light tool.

this saw is great. It's light, has plenty of power, and the battery lasts a long time. It doesn't cut like my 13 amp saw, but it's a lot more forgiving, and easier to maneuver, because it only weighs about 5lbs. This saw will defiantly see twice the use over my corded saw. I can't say it will completely replace it, but for small to medium jobs portability wins!
