I've been using this saw extensively for a couple of weeks now, and absolutely love it. Being a residential electrician, I'm often up in some brutally hot attic, or way up under the house in the crawlspace, and dragging a cord deep into these areas is really a hassle. But, I've just never encountered a cordless reciprocating saw that could truly do all that I need it to. Until now.
Build quality of this is excellent, very heavy-duty. The saw is heavy, especially with the 4.0 battery in it, but you want that in a two-hand reciprocating saw, both to dampen vibration and to aid in the cutting. The blade change mechanism is great, as is the adjustable shoe. The rafter hook I'm sure I will also find to be a great feature, though I keep forgetting it's there. It's attached with 2 set screws, and I'm sure it could be removed, if one were so inclined.
The only thing I find it doesn't offer that my corded models do is orbital cutting action, but as great as this saw is, that's not a big deal to me. Very happy!

I am a building and remodeling contractor and use this saw frequently. I recently completed installing new windows in and re-siding two eight plex apartment buildings, and this saw is a power house. It did not bind up or slow down cutting out the windows, just powered right through. I feel that this saw finally can stand head to head with a corded version and hold its own.
The pros of this saw are:
Very rugged and well built.
as powerful as a corded saw.
Excellent blade change.
excellent rubber over molding
great run time.
Has a rafter hook that makes the saw super hand on a ladder, or up in rafters.
cons: none, not even the price as it is well worth the money.

every day i use this sawzall, i fall more in love with it. the only issue i have is that it seems to have issues holding blades sometimes... the blade will literally just pop right out when using some of the thicker blades. kind of frustrating when cutting parts off a car, and the par your cutting is under the vehicle in a place where it's a pain to remove a hot, stuck blade.

It's crazy how good cordless tools have gotten! For the last few Years Milaukee has raised the bar by giving us better than corded performance in several categories. This is by far the top dog of cordless reciprocating saws. Milwaukee invented the segment and they have dominated this whole category of powertool for decades. The only recip saws that are faster are the highest amperage saws with orbital action...but they require a cord. I am a huge Makita fan but so far they have not topped this. Early 2016 Makita is supposed to have an 18v brushless saw to compete with this as well as a 36v x2 brushless saw that is supposed to blow it away. I. Not sure that they will be better though. Milwaukee really knows how to build a good recip. The fuel is not only the most powerful, it is also the smoothest running cordless recip saw I have ever used. It also has the greatest runtime which is significant because reciprocating saws are known as battery drains. The Powerstate brushless motor sips power from your battery compared to the brushed saws on the market. Add to that a great rafter hook, a durable tool less blade clamp and a nice LED light and you have on heck of a nice tool
