The M18 FUELTM ¼" Hex Impact Driver is the Most Powerful Tool in its Class. At 1800 in-lbs of fastening torque, this tool drives screws faster but also provides greater control over power and speed thanks to its proprietary 4-mode DRIVE CONTROLTM. The POWERSTATETM Brushless Motor delivers up to 0-3,000 RPM with constant power output to drive screws faster. REDLINK PLUSTM Intelligence is the most advanced electronic system on the market, preventing damage to the tool and battery caused by overloading or overheating. For use with REDLITHIUMTM Compact Batteries or Extended Capacity Batteries (sold separately), which deliver more work per charge and more work over the life of the pack than competitive batteries on the market. The 4-Mode DRIVE CONTROLTM provides greater control over output speed and power for greater versatility by delivering 0-850 RPM in Mode 1, 0-2100 RPM in Mode 2, and 0-3000 RPM in Mode 3. Self-Tapping Screw Mode is designed to reduce walking when starting self-tapping screws as well as reduce overdriving, breaking, and stripping out screws.

This tool is a beast - I was driving lag bolts through wood like it was butter. I like the adjustable settings--changes the level of torque depending on material and application. I own other M18 tools - I highly recommend them.

I ordered this the day they became available. I had wanted one since they were announced at a huge media event earlier in the year. I immediately appreciated the change in size. To me smaller is better. More compact, more power! Win win! The gen2 driver also feels a little bit more refined compared to the first generation. Driving speed is up and it has that great screw driving mode. It really helps out if you don't want to snap self drilling sheet metal screws with all they torque and speed. The only driver on the market that surpasses this is the Makita XDT09. It is even smaller and faster if you can beleive it! If you were wondering about the newer Ridgid Gen5x brushless impact with 2,250 inch lbs torque rating compared to this, fest assured this driver beats it in every way. Even though it is rated at 1,800 inch lbs, it just feels stronger. On Instagram you can see some tool fights between this driver and the new ridgid. The fuel smokes the brushless Ridgid in driving huge 1/2" x 12" lag screws into pressure treated wood with no pre-drilling. The Ridgid is also much larger and bulkier by comparison. Even though both tools are produced by the same corporation, Tti, they are worlds apart in performance and not so far apart on price. I highly recommend this driver if you already have Milwaukee m18 tools and batteries. If you don't then you need a kit or look at the XDT09 from Makita.

Love! Love! This thing is an animal. I upgraded from the 2653 and this new model puts the old one to shame. It is lighter, smaller, and more powerful thanks to Milwaukee's brush-less design. I have only had the tool for a couple weeks now but last weekend I put it to the test and it made the job a cinch. Thanks Milwaukee for another great tool!!

I always thought the hammer drill was the tool to beat. Didn't realize what I was missing out on using one of these bad boys to drive screws instead of the other tool. This thing is a beast. Absolutely love the power & weight. No problems, no stripping heads, easy chuck system. The power select button could be a better spot, but it's plenty functional. Would recommend this to anyone that needs to screw a lot for a living. ;-)

Have not used it much yet, if it works as good and last as long as the other Milwaukee power tools I have used it will be a great tool for the price.
This is a bare tool, I got it so it can share batteries with M18 drill and saw.

If you are a non-professional reading this then the answer is YES. This is one of the most amazing tools I have ever gotten to use. Specifically, this exact 2753 version, which is the brushless motor version. Basically, from what I gather, this means a sort of stepper motor under computer control. That might not be ideal for lots of hard driving in the open, but for DIY and detail work it makes all the difference in the world. There are four settings, 1-3 and Drill. The 1 setting runs so slow that you can drive screws in tight places with no cosmetic damage worth mentioning--say, exposed trim screws. Most drivers will go so fast you are bound to roll in the head and mess up the screw or else the tool stops because it can't develop torque at slow speeds. With THIS tool you get an even, steady drive with great power at a very controllable speed, even before the impact kicks in.
At the 2 or 3 setting you can drive construction screws, like 2.5 inch Torx screws fast and much better than with a drill, which is bound to round out the Torx head when the screw comes up snug. With a quick predrill using a countersink bit you can use construction screws right on exposed surfaces like window frame sides, etc. Still fast and controllable while working in the frame area. Also, no head damage, so if need be, you can back a screw right out, adjust, and go in again with little trouble at all.
This is really a must tool for the DIYer or even a step beyond that to the part-time pro, and maybe even the pro. Remember, though, the battery and charger aren't included here. It's an investment.
You definitely will NEED long screw bits or even better a screw driving hollow extension shaft since the M18 battery is often going to be in the way otherwise. You can get these anywhere.

This impact driver is a beast. Very powerful for this class and more power than you ever really need for construction. This impact "driver" is not really intended for mechanical work but can be used for that. I find this will bust most things in the 3/8 size adapter size range if not extremely rusty. Lug nuts are a little much for this and can be hit or miss but probably could break small car lugs pretty reliably. I used it today actually for lug nuts for a town and country with a 1/2 inch (which robs more torque than if it was a 3/8 or 1/4, no idea how much) adapter to put the tire on quick so i could get it on the ground to tighten it up with an x bar. I could only get a half turn more than it could so i was impressed but i also broke the 1/2 adapter in half. The 1/4 shaft takes beating on lugs lol ( Too small really for that kind of stuff is another reason against lugs nut use) I also used it today to take off rusty 17mm sway bar end links that i soaked the previous day in atf and it did the job easily and to tighten up bushing mounts for the sway bar which it made plenty tight. Like i said it does have power but it's not the big boy 1/2 impact that can break semi lugs easily

when I started out attempting to find the best Driver/Drill set I have to admit I purchased Dewalt off the bat. I initially bought a DCF-885 and honestly it just did not have the power I wanted so I returned it. I then went with a Dewalt DCF-887. The 887 seemed to have the power, but honestly the build quality was terrible. The forward/reverse switch wobbled terribly and the 1/4" chuck had massive amounts of play. I decided to check out Milwaukee and purchased this Impact with 5 amp HR batteries. WOW!!! The build quality of this unit is phenomenal. Absolutely no play in the chuck either. The power of this unit seems to be better than the Dewalt, even though it is rated just slightly less. I can remove the lug nuts on my 2010 Dodge Ram with ease (torqued at 130 lbs). Lug nuts on my Subaru are a joke for this gun. I can sink 3/8 x 5" lag screws in salt treated with ease. Large 3" screws are no problem no matter what you're driving them in. It ran much colder than the Dewalt and that alone tells me it's life will be better. I tried it on the scissor jacks of my camper and it was lifting my camper!! 13/16" lug nut on my trailer was no problem (torqued at 140 lbs). I'm impressed guys and gals. Definitely a serious DIY tool. Would be very hard to beat this unit for build quality and power. Oh and I cannot kill a 5 amp hour battery in a day's work.
If you want a serious tool for everyday work and a tool that does a tremendous variety of tasks, look no further.
Hope this helps!!

Where do i start? Well I am already a fan of the Milwaukee tool line. I currently have the 1/2" impact, 3/8" impact, 1/4" impact driver 12v and the drill driver. So i guess you could say i have experience with the tool line. This is one of my favorite tools. I use it on a daily basis for work. I build luxury boats. The 18v impact driver has some of the best control i have ever had in a tool. Its fast when you want it to be and slow as a snail when you want it to be. The chuck works great. It locks on a bit like it should one handed and the release is easy as well. The torque is great as well i have now brought home my 3/8" 18v impact and now only use the impact driver at work. This tool does it all and does it great. If you are looking for a quality tool for the money you are looking at it! I would buy it again and again!

This is a really excellent impact driver. It has a tremendous amount of power and great features. I like the four mode transmission with the self tapping screw mode. It's very lightweight and easy to use. Recommended!
