I have a no-name compact hacksaw, and while it is OK, this is far superior for the minimal cost difference. It is super easy and fast to slide the 10-inch blade in and out of the handle so that it protrudes anywhere from 1/2 an inch beyond the end of the frame to 5 and 1/2 inches. The rubberized handle is very grippable in dry or wet conditions, with or without gloves. When I think of the damage done when I used to make a "handle" by wrapping tape around one end of a hacksaw blade in order to get it into tight spots, I appreciate this device even more. Some people who buy this will probably end up using it more often than their full-size hacksaw.

This compact hack saw is so convenient and easy to use, it makes it hard to go back to using a regular one. There are basically two advantages to this product over more traditional ones. 1) The blade is super-easy to replace. You just snap out the old one and snap in the new one and you're done. No need to for fiddly tools. 2) Because of the saw's design, the blade sticks out about 2-3 inches from the end, which allows you to get into smaller spaces than you could with the traditional bow-shaped saw. If you need to get into a really tight spot, this will be your best bet, plus it also allows you to saw flush with the surface. (Just pull up an image of a traditional hack saw and compare it to see what I mean.) Yes, you'll have less leverage when you're sawing with the end of the blade, but it still gets the job done. All in all, this is an awesome little hack saw.

This is a great alternative to many of the other "compact" hack saws out there. This one doesn't cut differently than some of the cheaper alternatives out there, but it is far more substantial and comfortable to use. Typically I use these saws in tight spaces and the handle on this Milwaukee is far easier to grasp and use than its competition. There is no need to buy this model if you intend on cutting a couple of toilet bolts and throwing it indefinitely into the toolbox - you could get by much cheaper. However, if you are a DIY'er or a tradesman and want something that is comfortable for common use, I am not sure how it could get much better. On a side note, the blade clamp at the top of the saw rattles when it is tightened. This does not carry through to the grip on the blade which is nice and tight, but it is odd picking up the saw and hearing/feeling it rattle.

A handy little saw that's just the right size for my tool box. It is sturdy, well crafted and is perfect for cutting things in hard to reach areas. I have only had the chance to use this tool once (cutting pvs pipes from an in-ground pool's filtering system that butted up against a garden shed) and it handled very well. I would recommend this saw for any one who has fixer-up projects around the house.

Had two cheap ones in my tool box and broke them both. This one is Heavy duty, Excellent handle design allows you to get and keep a firm, full grip on the saw, blade is held tight and straight. It is worth the money.

With all the lesser quality compact 10" hack saw frames available, this Milwaukee model stands out as a 5 star tool. More than tough enough for years of hard use, it has a secure clamp to keep the blade in position with a comfortable handle, Recommended to anyone needing to hack saw wood, plastic, metal in close sawing places.

As usual, someone else will make all the money off something quite obvious and simple. One of the problems with hacksaws is you sometimes could really use one in compact areas where they just won't get into easily. This product solves the job and gives you better leverage to boot. Changing the blade is also a snap - literally - and given the limited space this one takes up, it makes it a no brainer to have around. The only question is whether I will ever need a standard hacksaw again.

there are many times you don't have the room for a regular size hack saw and that's when one of these little gems comes in handy. To notch something out or cut something when you need more control then these small hand hack saws are a work saver.

Sturdy, compact - does the job. The quick release blade holder is nicely designed and makes adjusting the blade simple and quick.

Bought to replace a cheap all plastic one from the hardware store. Works great! Fits in the hand well and a lot easier to change blades. Very sturdy and looks and feels to be well made. I would buy again and recommend to anybody.
