Recommended for folks with multiple M18 tools or multiple M18 batteries. It is surprising how much more convenient it is to have one battery charger with six slots than it is constantly trying to remember what battery is on what charger where. It quickly becomes intuitive and very efficient to routinely switch out a battery with less than max charge with a charged battery from the charger.

Most of us have multiple M18 battery types ("LithiumIon," "RedLithium," "Compact," "XC," "2.0, 4.0, 5.0," etc.) since Milwaukee provides newer battery variations all the time. Any given tool/task may optimize with a different choice from among the widely different charged batteries that (in my case at least) are available on the charger at any given time, and not all styles of M18 batteries are even usable on the more power-hungry tools.

Because up to 6 batteries are charged and in one place it makes it routine to put the ideal battery for the task in the tool. E.g. grab a heavy XC5.0 to drive a few hundred deck screws under foot, or instead choose a lighter compact battery for overhead screws on a ladder or for use with an undemanding tool like the M18 caulking gun.

It also convenient at the end of the day when one can put up to 6 partially-discharged batteries on the charger and know they all will be charged for the next day. Hella better than trying to keep coming back to multiple chargers and changing out batteries. This charger can actually change the way one works, and for the better.

This item works as described and is very handy to keep all our batteries charged and in the same place. It does charge the batteries sequentially, so please be aware of this and don't get the mistaken impression that all batteries are charging at the same time, together. I've seen some bad reviews here and elsewhere because "sequentially" was not read and/or understood to mean one is charged and then it moves onto another, etc. This charger has lights that indicate which battery is charging and which are already charged, and prevents batteries being scattered all over the basement by keeping them attached to this compact unit. We are very pleased with this so far and hope to be for a long time.

Most of the time the jobs I'm on do not have power. I can come in after work plug it in, and it will take care of all 6batteries one at a time with out me having to intervene.
Oh and it makes as a grate way to carry/keep up with the batteries!

Once you get 3 or more Milwaukee tools that run on these batteries, this item is a must-have.

this charger is an awesome addition to a m18 set. it is set up to only charge one battery at a time, which isn't a problem when you have more than 2 batteries anyway. now if they would only let me fill the charger with redlithium 4.0 batteries for cheap.....
