This is the saw to use for heavy-duty, demanding work.

We bought this 120VAC powered saw for a particularly demanding demolition situation. We had to sawzall dozens and dozens of metal pipes (up to 6" diameter SCH 80) and associated supports for 3 days straight. Other removal options were not open to us on this particular job. Saw has excellent performance, it's as smooth as these saws can be, and very powerful. [Our 28V battery powered saw gives great performance, but it's not really intended for hours and hours of use, even with multiple batteries]

I've found Milwaukee stuff is usually well-thought out, ruggedly built, and gives good service life. Like with many high-end tools, this high level of performance comes at a price, but for us, it's well worth it.

If you need a heavy-duty, industrial/commercial/professional grade sawzall this is it. Highly recommended.

A bought my first Milwaukee Sawzall around 1980. I think they were around 5 amps then. (I still have it kept in reserve.) I then moved up to a Super Sawzall around 1989 and rarely used my old one because the `Super' version was so much better (Although it was bigger and heavier). It ran flawlessly with exception of brush and cord replacements for many years. It went down around a year and a half ago at which time I bought the latest incarnation of the Super version.

I was a little put off by a few of the reviews I saw saying they are now made in Taiwan and are plastic and cheaper. But I bought it anyway. Over the years I had tried a few other brands that were out on jobs and they were all 'junk' compared to the Milwaukees.

After using this latest 15 amp version of the Milwaukee Sawzall I am impressed with the extreme power, smoothness (low vibration), speed, and lighter weight. A superior experience from a superior line of industrial grade portable power tools.

This has been the best Sawzall yet.

I have cut thousands of lbs of #1 steel with this saw without a problem. I've been clearing out all the steel stantions, iron water pipe, etc. from our old milking parlor most recently with it. If your planning on using your sawzall for hours on end and for heavy duty work this is the sawzall for you. Yep it is a bit on the heavy side but it gets the job done when other sawzalls would burn up. Milwaukee blades are ok but I've found that Bosch blades are better especially their heavy metal cutting blades. For those of you who find yourself using up metal cutting blades quickly, try bosch and turning the speed down on your sawzall. Also note that this is a 15 AMP sawzall and shouldn't be used with extension cords over 75ft no matter what gauge. You'll eventually burn out the motor due to low current. Plan on buying a 50ft 10 gauge extension cord for use with this saw unless you plan on working right next to an outlet all the time.

I borrowed this from a friend of mine to take some old cast iron plumbing out of my crawlspace. All kinds of folks tried to talk me into using something else to cut the cast iron drain pipes (2"+ thick).

I bought the Diamond grit black blade for this, and it -D-E-S-T-R-O-Y-E-D- those pipes. In a good way. Sliced through it in maybe 3 minutes (i had read some people say a sawzall would take me an hour to do each cut). Cut through some 1-1/2 in copper pipe as well. Super clean cut.

I will be purchasing this soon, and all i can say is nothing in my house is safe, haha

I work in interior demolition. And while i often use this saw to cut old wood, i mainly use it to cut heavy old pipes. Its by far the best saw out there. And i use the Milwaukee blades with it[although with metal , i usually use Lenox brand "Fire and Rescue Blades"] .Both blades and saw are still made in America. This may be one of the last[if not THE last] power tools made in America.

Me and my crew put this saw through a lot of abuse. But it holds up well. I did lose the safety gaurd on it.but that was due to abuse of the tool by an employee. I use this saw 5-7 days a week. And about 2- 10 hours a day. The saw does get hot after an hour's non-stop use. I like to give the saw a 5 minute break every 30-60 minutes or so.

The saw can cut back and forth.Or in a circular motion. There is s switch on top of the saw. I myself like the circular motion. Would advise anyone that has not used a Sawzall before, to just apply medium pressure to the saw. Too many of my new workers try to push down too hard on the saw.Let the saw do the work . Pushing down too hard wears the worker out and often slows down the sawing process

Overall a great saw.and it saves money on blades. I used to use a Dewalt saw.and that broke a lot of blades. The Milwaukee 15 amp saw doesnt break blades as much. Its a much smoother cutting tool. So the blade doesnt jerk around as much. And if the blade does get stuck in wood/metal, the Sawzall will often spit the blade out without breaking it.You just have to put the blade back in

As someone who puts this saw through a lot of hard work and abuse,I would highly recomend this saw to anyone.Defintly worth spending a little more money on this saw than spending a few dollars less on a much less powerfull saw And once again, it is still made in America.

Heavy, powerful, aggressive, and tunable...

This saw will plow though just about anything or it can be configured to be gentle and precise. The orbital action is completely tunable for zero to full orbit. The stoke speed can be controlled by dial & trigger. The saw is solid and well built. It shreds through wood & nails & just about anything else.

The worst thing I can say about the saw is that the case is not amazing. I miss the old metal case from the original Sawzall.

In short this is a great saw.

I have been using a Craftsman reciprocating saw for the past 15 years. Decided to buy the Super Sawzall based on all the great reviews. Received the saw and put it to use right away....ripping through galvanized pipe, lathe and plaster, electrical wires (not charged of course) and anything else that got in the way during my last demo project. This saw is an absolute beast.....barely slowing down when cutting through a 2 x 12 joist. I've been debating on whether or not I should try cutting my Craftsman reciprocator in half using the Super Sawzall.....just kidding! This saw is the benchmark for all other reciprocating saws....highly recommend!

It had been many years since I last used a recipro saw, but I can't say my 'fascination' with them ebbed any during that time. While working to repair the framing of the 10 year old deck on my house, I finally "saw" (yuk yuk) a clear need for buying one for myself: breaking ~50 nails free from the deck's joists. After this particular project, my needs for the saw would be occasional but I value quality in my tools b/c that usually equates to longevity -- and I wanted a saw that would be ready to go 15+ years from now. Shopping around, I basically saw the market as being: 1) ~$100 saws that had an on-off switch only and no counterbalancing; and, 2) $150+ saws that gave the user more control over the cut. Purely for demolition work, buying a $100 on/off saw makes a lot of sense . . . use it ruthlessly until it fails and then replace it pretty inexpensively. But with me valuing quality/longevity and needing the flexibility to cover projects I couldn't yet anticipate, I wanted counterbalancing for more accurate cuts, I wanted power to cover different potential needs and I wanted to be able to control the stroke speed more than just by a variable pressure trigger.
This led me to the Super Sawzall 15amp. I looked at the competing Makita but online reviews suggested some owner dissatisfaction. Considering Milwaukee's reputation in the recipro market and its 5 year warranty, I bought the Super Sawzall 15amp.

Using the saw for the deck project was amazing. The power got me through 8d exterior nails in just seconds. The tool is easy to hold and line-up for the cut. I didn't find the weight to be an issue as some have commented, the saw feels fairly well balanced in my hands. And speaking of balance, this counterbalanced saw doesn't feel at all like a jackhammer that wants to jump out of your hands (like I remember the early Sawzall being). Using this one is about as complicated as using a power drill -- only if you're clumsy/distracted will you end up with a botched outcome. The storage case is well designed, not larger than it needs to be and includes plenty of room for blades of various lengths. (Note: I have not yet tried orbital cuts with this saw, so I cannot comment on that performance.)

A key consideration in buying this corded 15amp saw -- or any 15amp power tool -- is your extension cord. Drawing 15amps, you need a heavy gauge extension cord to be working an appreciable distance away from your power source. At this writing, a 10 gauge, 100' extension cord is ~$100 so you may need to figure this cost into your purchase consideration.

Bottom line: I'm impressed with the build quality, control and power of this saw. I look forward to moving rapidly through future home projects and then one day passing the saw to my son.

I bought this product in April 2012 to primarily cut the branches and smaller trees around the house that were growing too big to manage. I was also going to use this in some demo work when I remodel the bathroom down the road. I wanted to buy the cheaper end Milwaukee models because I did not know if I will get my moneys worth. Boy was I wrong. It cuts down trees and branches with ease and saved me a lot of time and stress on elbow with a hacksaw. I used a yellow branded sawzall before and although it did the job, I was not impressed with the vibration/shock from using it. But when I used this super sawzall, I was able to tell the difference and the vibration was minimal. My hands were not shaking from extended use. It can get really noisy on the highest level (5) but that is to be expected. I usually leave it on level 3 and that more then enough to cut wood and noise very tolerable. This one is supposedly the top of the line with all the bells and whistle. It is heavy and looks very heavy duty, not going to break easily for years with proper maintenance. I am just a regular DIY guy and this may be overkill but I believe that buying good tools is equally important in getting the job done and willing to invest a little more for better tools. I have not tried the orbital cut so cannot say how well it cuts holes. As far as pruning goes, any weak and very thin branches are hard to cut with this but anything thick or sturdy it will do well. Sometimes you have to move the sawzall in a slow cutting motion to get it to cut faster. Buy those pruning blades and you are on your way. I make quick work of the trees and fill up my waste basket very fast that I have to stop and wait for the trashman to come around the neighborhood once a week. I had bamboo trees growing 20 feet high and it cut through them like nothing. Was more painful to hand cut some of the smaller branches. Cut the big things down to smaller size quickly. You will have to play around and get used to the tool before you really start cutting fast and efficiently. I would also like to mention that you probably have to pick up a 15Amp rated extension cord preferably for exterior use if you do not have one handy. Do not want to melt anything. If it is too pricy then step it down to a tool with either a speed dial setting or a variable speed trigger control, they greatly help during the cutting to control the speed for better cuts. Milwaukee makes great sawzall.

I had no reservations purchasing this saw and was extremely happy with the results. I've used this saw at work so I knew going in what to expect. I wanted the most amp for the buck and was not disappointed at all. I bought an exterior door for my house for $100(cheap I know, it was a returned item) but I had to enlarge my rough openning. Something I was hesitant about tackling. This saw made short work of it and it couldnt have turned out better. I saved enough on the door to more than cover the cost of the saw and now I have an excellent saw for the next decade of work. This saw is very balanced but with awsome power to cut through studs, nails, metal or anything in your way. So happy with this saw and Amazon. Highly Highly recommend. Oh and I have all of my fingers, something my wife said wouldnt happen, not even any blood letting. (Most of my projects involve some type of DNA marking)

Sold in packs of 5.                                       By Larry Loo Before purchasing this package of Sawzall blades, I was a little concerned that the blades might not last too long in our hands. After all, my wife and I have gone through close to a dozen hand-held pruning saws during the 20+ years we've lived on our property. Those pruning saws always cut well when new but seem to get dull very quickly. With their close set, needle-like teeth they're also difficult to sharpen - and I've sharpened regular saws using saw sets and files. Each of those new hand-held pruning saws have cost us $20 to $25!
