I have many B & D tools and use batteries a lot! They usually last me about two years. Some last less and some more. There doesn't seem to be consistency. I look for the batteries on sale or in a two pack. I recycle the old ones and have probably recycled at least six in the last two years. When I get a new battery I label it with the date I put it into service. This helps me know how long I will probably have before replacing it.

That's because these are new and my original ones are at least 3-4 years old. They are just worn out and won't hold enough of a charge to last very long. My first time with one of these, the tool lasted four times longer than with my worn out batteries so I'm a happy camper. Now if they last 3-4 years also I'll be happy. I do want to find out if I can or should leave them in the charger all the time or not. I saw no directions about that with the original tools and nothing in the sparse directions which came with these batteries. My only complain is the stupid directions which are not directions at all (well, maybe 1-2 lines are), but all the rest of the printed crap is put there by lawyers to try absolve them of any and all responsibility for anything. Are all companies run by lawyers? Does anyone give a hoot about the customer? All that legal mumbo jumbo should be in an optional downloadable file. Just send me how to use it on paper, period. It will make the things cheaper and save money!

Super fast shipping (free super saver!), well packaged in an original B & D box, with 2 recent date code batteries. As these have a 2 year warranty, the date code is important. The orange and black batteries are way better than the black ones, they hold a charge way longer,highly recommend the orange and black ones

Have had my trimmer a few years and the battery started to die, so got these and they are as good as the one I have when it was new. Not sure now that I really needed two because one will last long enough to do all the trimming I can do in a day - but if you have a LOT to trim, this might be best for you.

When the local B&D store closed I was worreid that I wouldn't be able to find replacement batteries for my power tools but luckily Amazon came to the rescue. The only thing I dont like is the price they are expensive but what can you do.

My original Black and Decker batteries lasted quite a few seasons, but were starting to not fully charge or hold their charge. When I looked into replacing them at local retailers it seemed like they were over priced. Before I purchased, I went online and checked out Amazon. These batteries are perfect. They are exactly as described. I have charged and used them a number of times before I wrote this review to test them out. They were 30% less expensive and 100% what I needed. I couldn't be happier. I highly recommend these batteries.

I got my Black & Decker weed eater out for the season and discovered why you shouldn't allow the years old batteries to sit all winter without a charge. It was dead and wouldn't charge. I tried a fix to kickstart a charge but no luck. Hence ordering this set. They work as good as the batteries that came with the unit, which isn't surprising since they are the same model. I was able to do my whole yard after charging one battery for several hours. Definitely recommend for black & decker replacements.
