This little black & Decker does a great job. A fully charged battery will give you at least 45 minutes of power, enoungh to trim around my house / yard front & back, two times. (2050 sq. ft.) This is a good value.

When I opened it, I thought Oh, no, it needs put together! I am a 79 year old female and can ever follow the direction sheet
but on my own figured out how to put the couple of pieces that needed put on and then I didn't know how to get the battery off
in order to charge it - Know what, I figured that out on my own. It was a piece of cake once I put my mind to it. I have a young fellow
who cuts my grass but needed this when I went to the cemetary. Have used it only once but it worked GREAT!

I am very happy with this weed trimmer. I've had battery powered weed trimmers before, but not lithium powered. With the old Ni-cad's power would be good at first, then as you used the trimmer it started to die slowly. Also you could not keep the battery on the charger as it had a memory effect.
With the new lithium batteries, power is steady thru-out and stops when the battery is dead. I also have a gas powered trimmer, but I find that can be a pain to use as it doesn't start easily, I've got to mix oil and gasoline for the engine and it is loud! This is instant start, no headaches trying to get it started and isn't really that loud. For my yard, about 1/5 acre, the trimmer lasted long enough (about 15 minutes) to finish the yard.
The trimmer is 95% assembled in the box. You just have to install the handle (no tools needed) and the trimmer guard (just requires a small phillips head screwdriver). Overall very happy with the value in this trimmer.

Was worried about purchasing this item without any prior customer reviews, but based on other models and the similarity to this one, I decided to purchase it. I haven't used a trimmer/edger before, so I can't compare the ease and durability to other models, but I'm quite impressed. The battery life is enough to do both the front and backyard (a typical suburban house). Great product overall!

I've owned a battery powered trimmer before and this one beats it by a long shot. However, this is still a compromise. Of course, it doesn't compare with a gas powered trimmer for raw power but, it's lighter and less fatiguing to use. And, with the long charge duration before recharging, I can get a lot of work done before having to switch battery packs. With the fast charger and two batteries, I could probably work all day with no down time. It's pretty easy to justify the purchase of the fast charger if you have two or more 20V tools and/or multiple batteries. I have three 20V tools, two 2.0AH battery packs, one regular wall charger and one fast charger. Suggestion for the manufacturer: The fast charger should be an option with the multi-tool combination kits or even with all 20V tools. It's a shame to be stuck with a useless original charger if you decide to upgrade. The net cost of the fast charger should be significantly less if purchased with the tool in place of the standard charger. One negative I've encountered using the tool is that the string guard doesn't fully protect me from splatter when working in wet or muddy areas, especially in edger mode. TIP: Always wear eye protection with all powered outdoor equipment.

This is a perfect trimmer for what I need it for....... What little trimming that needs to be done in my yard, this little machine does exactly what it's supposed to do. We have a pretty good size yard but all the trimming is up close to the house and around the flower beds. The battery has yet to go dead on me so I really don't know how long the battery would last but I use it a few times before I recharge it.

I bought this a couple month ago for me to use. I love it because it is simple to use and does a great job for me. I also bought one for my Dad for Father's Day and he really likes it. He goes to town on all of the weeds on his hillside. (He lives in a more rural area and it has held up great!) I would recommend this for anyone. Black and Decker is a trusted brand for me.

This will be my second Black & Decker string trimmer; I like the one at my primary residence so well that I purchased this second one for use at my vacation home.
I have arthritis in my hands and that makes inserting and removing batteries in most rechargeable items very difficult for me. The batteries in this item - and in other tools in this same line produced by Black & Decker - slide in easily and the release button doesn't require a lot of hand strength (unlike some other tools that utilize a different battery configuration. This is major for me because it allows me not to have to depend on others to assist me in maintaining my yard; I don't have to wait until there's someone around to ask for help in changing the batteries. And, speaking of batteries, I generally get about 45 minutes of continual use of the trimmer before having to switch batteries.
As to product features, the cutting string is shielded so I don't have to worry about getting it too close to my feet and inflicting damage to myself; and the edger on the front allows me to trim closely around plants without taking them out along with the weeds and/or grass. The handle grip is well located so I don't experience any back pain or have to stoop when using it.

For as long as I've owned this trimmer (which has only been a month), I'm already impressed with it. Previously I purchased an Earthwise trimmer. It was not very strong and the battery ran down quickly. I brought one to replace it and chose a Black & Decker because I have many Black & Decker products and have been satisfied with all of their products. This trimmer is a little work horse. This has some very good power for a battery-operated trimmer. I'm happy I bought another B&D product.
