Lake Country's CCS Technology has revolutionized foam buffing pads. The patented Collapsed Cell Structure (CCS) Technology is the result of many years of research and development by Lake Country manufacturing. CCS pads utilize the latest in innovation and are very user friendly providing better control, less product waste, more accurate results and an overall better job. CCS foam pads help reduce product waste by slowing the rate of product absorption into the pad. With conventional foam pads, product is absorbed into the foam rather quickly which reduces working time and may give disappointing results. A build-up of chemicals inside the foam will also cause the pad to dry out more rapidly.

Collapsed Cell Structure

The face of a CCS pad is covered in strategically places pockets. These pockets are locations where the foam cells have been closed. Polish and other product does not absorb into these closed cell pockets, leaving more product on the pad's surface and on the paint. This product-saving design gives chemicals a longer working time which results in more successful detailing. CCS foam pads work on every type of paint from conventional clear coats to harder, scratch-resistant clear coats. Just an FYI, the 6.5" pads are roughly twice the size of the 5" pads, and only cost a couple of dollars more. The 6.5s are almost twice as thick, and even though I have a 5" backing plate on my Porter Cable, i'm still gonnna use the larger pad. So happy that I ordered the larger pads, it's like getting twice the product.

If you are worried about the pads wearing down quickly, just get the 6.5s for your Porter instead of the 5s. Betcha they will last longer just due to the added size and the simple fact that there is more foam to wear down.

I bought my wife a 1984 Porsche 944 for Christmas last year and restored it, complete with an costly paint job. I needed to buff it before waxing it. Now, I'm not going to let just anything touch this freshly painted, gorgeous paint job. So I researched all the buffing pads and decided on this one. I can honestly say I am really happy I bought this one. It is really good quality, and is not falling apart at all after buffing the enough car. It applied a nice even coat over the entire car. There are a lot of curves and cracks in the Porsche 944 and it didn't have a problem reaching any of them. Will be buying another one when it is time to replace.

Currently using this pad for final polish application on my 23ft boat. It's doing a great job of polishing and applying a nice even coat to the hull. Does well with various curves as well as flat surfaces.

These are great to use to with products such as finishing polishes (pure polishes, etc) or waxes based upon the forgiving nature of the pad itself. Specific use of the pad will vary depending on what product one is applying. For example, I will only apply 4-6 drops of a polish to the pad if the instructions on the polish say apply sparingly. Or, do a criss cross pattern when applying a wax. This pad is not aggressive and will only remove light swirls and micro scratches. If you need something more corrective, use a different pad such as Hex Orange, White or any other pad (research this)

Overall:

Works well, but be sure to have at least 4 on hand when applying a polish. Worth the price and they do last when treated with care.

Worked great for me. I used it to wax the car with a Griot 6" polisher. It's amazing how fast and easy this combo was. I waxed and removed wax (with micro-fiber towel) in about 20 minutes with almost no sweat or elbow grease. The pad looks almost brand new afterwards, with no chunks missing or tears.
